Procter & Gamble Earnings Are Imminent; These Most Accurate Analysts Revise Forecasts Ahead Of Earnings Call

Philip Morris International Inc. (PMI) has been informed by its deconsolidated Canadian affiliate, Rothmans,Benson &amp; Hedges Inc. (RBH), that the court-appointed mediator and monitor in RBH's Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA) proceeding filed a proposed plan of compromise and arrangement (Proposed Plan) outlining certain terms of a comprehensive resolution of tobacco product-related claims and litigation in Canada against RBH and its affiliates. The court-appointed mediator and monitors also filed substantially similar proposed plans for Imperial Tobacco Canada Limited and Imperial Tobacco Company Limited (together, ITL) and JTI-Macdonald Corp. (JTIM).
Under the Proposed Plan, if ultimately approved and implemented, RBH, ITL and JTIM (the Companies) would pay an aggregate settlement amount of CAD 32.5 billion (approximately USD 23.5 billion). This amount would be funded by an upfront payment equal to the Companies' cash and cash equivalents on hand in Canada plus certain court deposits (subject to an aggregate withholding of CAD 750 million (approximately USD 540 million) for working capital inclusive of cash pledged as collateral) and annual payments based on a percentage of the Companies' net income after taxes (excluding that generated by certain non-combustible products including heat-not-burn, e-vapor and nicotine pouch products) until the aggregate settlement amount is paid. As stated in the Proposed Plan, the issue of allocation of the CAD 32.5 billion aggregate settlement as between the Companies in the CCAA proceedings remains unresolved.
"After years of mediation, we welcome this important step towards the resolution of long-pending tobacco product-related litigation in Canada," said Jacek Olczak, Chief Executive Officer of PMI. "Although important issues with the plan remain to be resolved, we are hopeful that this legal process will soon conclude, allowing RBH and its stakeholders to focus on the future."

What Happened: Waymo will credit $3 to riders&#8217; accounts if they take an autonomous ride to or from eligible Bay Area transit stations. These credits can be used for future rides.
The program started on Oct. 17 and will go on till Nov.15. The credits can be used until Dec. 31, according to a statement from Waymo. 
&#8220;By offering electric rides on demand and improving access to public transit, Waymo One is making daily travel more sustainable and convenient,&#8221; said Adam Lenz, Head of Sustainability and Environment at Waymo.

After months of struggling, another meme stock is biting the dust. Indeed, after a long, complicated journey of volatility and watching shares fall, Vinco Ventures (OTCMKTS:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/bbig-stock-quote/">BBIG</a>) stock has been delisted from the Nasdaq.
This shouldn&rsquo;t surprise anyone who has followed Vinco Ventures recently. In July 2023, Vinco received a <a href="https://dd7pmep5szm19.cloudfront.net/2846/0001493152-23-025134.pdf" target="_blank">delinquency notice</a> from the Nasdaq due to a lack of independent directors on its board. In typical meme stock fashion, this news <a href="https://investorplace.com/2023/07/bbig-stock-alert-vinco-ventures-soars-45-after-receiving-nasdaq-delinquency-notice/" target="_blank">sent BBIG stock shooting up</a>, but the growth didn&rsquo;t last long. Not long after, Nasdaq suspended trading for BBIG stock.
InvestorPlace predicted that things were likely about to get worse for BBIG and that&rsquo;s exactly what happened. The meme stock now trades via an over-the-counter (OTC) exchange.
Does this mean Vinco is destined to go the way of Bed Bath &amp; Beyond? Let&rsquo;s take a closer look.
<h2>BBIG Stock After the Nasdaq Delisting</h2>
When a company moves from a major exchange to over-the-counter, it&rsquo;s often a sign that the end is approaching &mdash; and typically on the faster side. This is often preceded by a trading suspension. Of course, even unstable companies can bounce back and regain compliance with their exchanges. But when a stock fails to do so and loses its spot, smart investors typically run the other way.
Vinco investors knew this day would come. In August, Business Insider reported that <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/vinco-ventures-suspended-from-nasdaq-stock-in-free-fall-2023-8" target="_blank">unless the company regained compliance</a> by Aug. 4, 2023 or requested &ldquo;a review by a hearings panel,&rdquo; it would be delisted. That day came and went with no progress. On Oct. 11, the exchange <a href="https://ir.nasdaq.com/news-releases/news-release-details/delisting-securities-humanigen-inc-vinco-ventures-inc-liquid" target="_blank">confirmed its plans</a> to delist BBIG stock. A <a href="https://app.quotemedia.com/data/downloadFiling?webmasterId=90423&amp;ref=317799791&amp;type=PDF&amp;symbol=BBIG&amp;cdn=c0873cb8829c1372fef0f771c94e5eeb&amp;companyName=Vinco+Ventures+Inc.&amp;formType=25-NSE&amp;formDescription=Notification+filed+by+national+security+exchange+to+report+the+removal+from+listing+and+registration+of+matured%2C+redeemed+or+retired+securities&amp;dateFiled=2023-10-12" target="_blank">filing</a> with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced that Nasdaq had &ldquo;determined to remove from listing the securities of Vinco Ventures, Inc., effective at the opening of the trading session on October 23, 2023.&rdquo;
Of course, investors can still trade BBIG stock over-the-counter. But that doesn&rsquo;t mean shares will see any growth from here. The company is still deeply troubled, with a checkered past including <a href="https://investorplace.com/2023/07/bbig-stock-vinco-ventures-faces-more-board-shakeup/" target="_blank">problems with its board</a> and <a href="https://investorplace.com/2023/07/bbig-stock-alert-retail-investors-launch-investigation-into-vinco-ventures/" target="_blank">legal investigations</a>. If any retail investors are still hoping for a short squeeze, they&rsquo;re likely in for disappointment as well. Even high short interest didn&rsquo;t lead to the BBIG stock squeeze that <a href="https://investorplace.com/2023/05/is-a-giant-short-squeeze-brewing-in-vinco-ventures-bbig-stock/" target="_blank">seemed possible</a> a few months ago. Now that BBIG no longer trades on the Nasdaq, such a scenario is even less likely to play out.

Former Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Chair Sheila Bair recently<a href="https://www.ft.com/content/163db4c6-303d-4a52-9275-66359e4515e2"> noted that</a>, during the Federal Reserve&rsquo;s era of zero interest rates, &ldquo;money (flowed) into all sorts of unproductive uses,&rdquo; including &ldquo;zombie companies.&rdquo; In other words, firms that were generating little or no revenue and had meager chances of ever becoming profitable could stay afloat by convincing investors and lenders to provide them with cheap money. This has led to this article on companies that may go bankrupt.



But now that interest rates are much higher, no one is going to take a chance on pumping money into these firms. As a result, many of these zombie firms will declare bankruptcy by the end of next year. 



Here are three such companies that may go bankrupt.



<h2>Mullen Automotive (MULN)</h2>

I&rsquo;ve long been skeptical about Mullen Automotive (NASDAQ:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/muln-stock-quote/">MULN</a>), an electric vehicle maker whose CEO had a checkered past. Also noteworthy is that Mullen specialized in marketing EVs created by little-known Chinese companies, while the automaker issued many press releases discussing the orders that it had obtained for its EVs but generated no revenue in its last fiscal year and only $308,000 in sales in the 12 months that ended in June. 



As of the end of last quarter, the EV maker had $214 million of cash, but its operations had burned $136 million in the 12 months that ended in June. With the firm still generating little revenue and failing<a href="https://investors.mullenusa.com/news"> to generate</a> new orders for nearly four months, no one is likely to give Mullen significant amounts of money now that interest rates are elevated. Nor is it likely to raise much more money by selling additional MULN stock now that its shares are changing hands for just 25 cents, while the appetite for speculative stocks has plunged. 



As of August, Mullen had $80 million of orders outstanding. But to fulfill those orders, it will have to <a href="https://seekingalpha.com/article/4629648-mullen-bankruptcy-serious-risk">spend even more money</a> than it has in the last year, pushing itself further towards insolvency. 



Given these points, MULN is likely to burn through its cash within the next year and be unable to raise any more money, making it one of the companies likely to go bankrupt.

Virgin Galactic (NYSE:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/spce-stock-quote/">SPCE</a>) specializes in taking consumers and companies&rsquo; employees to space. In my view, SPCE is the type of &ldquo;moonshot&rdquo; company that&rsquo;s unlikely to inspire lenders or investors to provide funds going forward. As of June, the company had <a href="https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/SPCE/balance-sheet">$940 million of cash</a> and short-term investments, while its operations had burned $489 million of cash in the year that ended in June.



Moreover, like Mullen, SPCE&rsquo;s cash burn will likely significantly increase since it&rsquo;s building two spaceships<a href="https://seekingalpha.com/article/4622449-virgin-galactic-holdings-inc-spce-q2-2023-earnings-call-transcript"> to handle its backlog</a> of 800 passengers. Meanwhile, analysts, on average, only <a href="https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/SPCE/analysis?p=SPCE">expect it to</a> generate a paltry $25.2 million of revenue in 2024. Given these points, I believe that the company is likely to be very short on funds by the end of next year.



Also importantly, SPCE&rsquo;s ships have had several crashes and other mishaps, including the failure of <a href="https://news.sky.com/story/virgin-orbit-shares-set-to-crash-after-failure-of-first-uk-space-launch-12783625">an engine on </a>one of its ships in January 2023. Given that history and SPCE&rsquo;s speculative nature, I believe that large investors and lenders will be reluctant to provide the firm with funds going forward.



With SPCE&rsquo;s stock trading at $1.44 and the appetite for speculative stocks low, I believe that it will have difficulty raising money by selling more of its shares to the public.



<h2>Vinco Ventures (BBIG)</h2>

One-time meme stock Vinco Ventures (OTC<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/:bbig-stock-quote/">:BBIG</a>) tried multiple methods to generate significant amounts of revenue, including acquiring a website called Lomotif <a href="https://investorplace.com/2023/03/bbig-stock-vinco-ventures-hopes-to-leverage-u-s-tiktok-ban/">that aspired to be the next </a>TikTok, <a href="https://www.thestreet.com/memestocks/other-memes/bbig-stock-is-up-big-thanks-to-cryptyde-spinoff-record-date-heres-whats-next">getting involved in </a>crypto, and<a href="https://investorplace.com/2023/07/bbig-stock-alert-vinco-ventures-says-national-enquirer-deal-collapsed/"> seeking to acquire</a> The National Enquirer.



But Vinco<a href="https://www.linkedin.com/posts/benjaminwollenstein_bbig-investors-are-suing-company-executives-activity-7052411640566190080-PHFZ/"> has been plagued by more infighting</a> among its executives than any other firm I&rsquo;ve ever researched, along with an inability to generate significant revenue. In the third quarter of 2022, the last quarter for which the company submitted financial results, it generated only $5.6 million in sales.



On Oct. 24, BBIG <a href="https://investorplace.com/2023/10/bbig-stock-alert-the-nasdaq-just-delisted-vinco-ventures/">was delisted</a> from the Nasdaq after the exchange in July cited the company for failing to have any independent board members. But the shares are still trading on an over-the-counter exchange. On Oct. 27, they plunged 74.4% to 2.3 cents, and the company&rsquo;s market capitalization was a tiny $299,000, according to Yahoo Finance. 



This then makes BBIG stock one of those companies that may go bankrupt.

Trouble Ahead: 3 Stocks With High Bankruptcy Risk in 2023-2024

Shares of Vinco Ventures (OTCMKTS:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/bbig-stock-quote/">BBIG</a>) stock closed higher by 127% today and were up by as much as 7,150% during afternoon intraday trading. Still, shareholders shouldn&rsquo;t place too much hope on today&rsquo;s gains.



There is no news to directly explain the incline, although stocks trading in the over-the-counter (OTC) market are prone to volatile moves due to lowered liquidity. 



At one point today, the market capitalization for BBIG stock hovered around $85,000, which is around the <a href="https://www.justice.gov/ust/eo/bapcpa/20220401/bci_data/median_income_table.htm">median family income</a> for two people in many U.S. states. With today&rsquo;s rise, BBIG is now trading at just 1.2 cents. That has led to supporters of Vinco offering to buy out the company:

BBIG stock was <a href="https://investorplace.com/2023/10/bbig-stock-alert-the-nasdaq-just-delisted-vinco-ventures/#:~:text=After%20months%20of%20struggling%2C%20another,been%20delisted%20from%20the%20Nasdaq.">delisted</a> from the Nasdaq exchange in late October. Since then, the situation has only gotten worse, with the stock providing a year-to-date (YTD) loss of over 99%. While BBIG traded on the Nasdaq, it received a slew of <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/vinco-ventures-suspended-from-nasdaq-stock-in-free-fall-2023-8">noncompliance notices</a> for various issues, such as filing its quarterly earnings and annual report late. The company also experienced severe management issues, such as an <a href="https://investorplace.com/2022/07/hostile-takeover-alert-sinks-bbig-stock/">attempted hostile takeover</a> involving its top executives.



Vinco&rsquo;s downfall was led by many internal failures. These included TikTok competitor Lomotif and failed plans to acquire the National Enquirer. As reported by Business Insider, Lomotif wasn&rsquo;t working as of Aug. 2. Vinco announced in July that it would no longer pursue the National Enquirer acquisition as it <a href="https://investorplace.com/2023/07/bbig-stock-alert-vinco-ventures-says-national-enquirer-deal-collapsed/">&ldquo;wasn&rsquo;t in its best interest.&rdquo;</a>



Meanwhile, the company&rsquo;s website has seemingly disappeared, providing a barrier for shareholders to receive information.



With thousands of other suitable companies to invest in, investors should avoid BBIG stock and watch from the sidelines. Still, shareholders have taken it upon themselves to create their own <a href="https://www.bbigfamily.com/">website</a> in support of the community of shareholders and Vinco&rsquo;s uncertain future. At the time of this writing, the community boasted 2,860 shareholders who allegedly collectively own 50.12 million shares. 



The downfall of Vinco provides a valuable lesson. When there are clear red flags, such as Nasdaq compliance issues and late earnings, its best to avoid investing in that company.

MicroAlgo&nbsp;(NASDAQ:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/mlgo-stock-quote/">MLGO</a>) stock is rising higher on Wednesday after the company announced plans to <a href="https://finance.yahoo.com/news/microalgo-inc-announced-company-establish-110000220.html">establish a postgraduate training facility</a>.



According to a press release from MicroAlgo, its Chinese companies will be working together with Shenzhen University Semiconductor Manufacturing Research Institute and the Haikou Comprehensive Free Trade Zone Management Committee. These three will create the postgraduate training and practice base.



MicroAlgo notes that the creation of this location will allow for the practical teaching of relevant specialties at Shenzhen University. This will allow for a place where related industries can &ldquo;jointly cultivate excellent scientific research talents and reserve technical talent forces.&rdquo;



MicroAlgo said the following about this collaboration.




&ldquo;The joint training of postgraduate students for the industry will also contribute to the construction of academic disciplines and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements of Shenzhen University, and will make an important contribution to the development of the country, as well as to the cultivation and retention of high-end technological talents.




<h2>MLGO Stock Movement on Wednesday</h2>



MicroAlgo&nbsp;stock is seeing heavy trading on Wednesday with more than 3.2 million shares of the stock changing hands as of this morning. That&rsquo;s already well above the company&rsquo;s daily average trading volume of about 1.7 million shares.
