Guess?, Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GES#NYSE">GES</a>) reported a year-over-year decrease in third-quarter adjusted EPS results on Tuesday.
Guess posted quarterly adjusted earnings of 34 cents per share, down from 49 cents per share in the year-ago period. The company's sales rose to $739.0 million from $651.1 million a year ago.
Paul Marciano, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer, commented, &#8220;This year we have made significant investments for Guess in new product introductions and increased marketing campaigns, and the customers have responded well. We have also invested in developing our new rag &amp; bone and Guess Jeans brands, adding distribution capacity for both domestically and internationally. Our focus is to create strong brand awareness and increase customer engagement while offering amazing products and a great customer experience. I am excited about our collection this season and believe we are well positioned for this important time of the year.&#8221;
Guess said it sees FY25 earnings of 70 cents to 82 cents per share, and adjusted earnings o f $1.85 to $2.00 per share
Guess shares fell 5.3% to trade at $16.41 on Wednesday.

Guess Analysts Slash Their Forecasts After Q3 Earnings

Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/JWN#NYSE">JWN</a>) shares are <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/movers" rel="noreferrer noopener">trading lower on Wednesday</a>.
For the third quarter, the company&#8217;s net sales increased 4.6% compared to the same period in fiscal 2023, total company comparable sales increased 4.0%, and gross merchandise value increased 5.3%.&nbsp;
JP Morgan analyst Matthew R. Boss reiterated the Underweight rating on the stock, raising the price forecast to $21 from $20.
The analyst notes that despite favorable conditions for Nordstorm&#8217;s core customer base, including high personal savings rates, low debt service ratios, and significant household wealth creation, as well as favorable pricing and promotional factors, the company&#8217;s absolute and relative performance remains disappointing, with 2023 revenue levels and EBIT margins falling below 2019 levels.
JWN opened 12 Rack stores during the quarter, reflecting a 2.2% growth, and has a total of 23 Rack store openings year-to-date, in line with its 2024 guidance of 20-25 openings, with 15 expected in 2025, Boss added.

Telsey Advisory Group analyst Dana Telsey reiterated Market Perform rating on Nordstrom, raising the price forecast to $26 from $24.
The analyst notes that Nordstrom exceeded earnings expectations in the third quarter, driven by stronger sales, gross margins, and operating expense leverage.
Full-line segment growth was positive for the third consecutive quarter, and momentum at Rack continued.
However, despite this growth, management highlighted a slowdown in sales in late October and November.
As a result, Nordstrom cautiously raised its FY24 revenue growth outlook by 100 basis points, while keeping EBIT margin and EPS guidance unchanged. The company also noted elevated inventory due to slower-moving cold weather categories.
Given these factors, the analyst maintained a Market Perform rating. The analyst raised estimates to $2.00 in FY24, up from $1.95 previously. For FY25, the estimate goes to $2.06, up modestly from the prior estimate of $2.02.
Price Action: JWN shares are trading lower by 9.34% to $22.32 at last check Wednesday.

Nordstrom Q3 Sales Grow, But Analysts Remain Cautious On Stock Amid Slowing Sales And Elevated Inventory

Dell Technologies Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/DELL#NYSE">DELL</a>) reported better-than-expected earnings for its third quarter, while sales missed estimates.
The company reported quarterly earnings of $2.15 per share, which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $2.05. Quarterly revenue came in at $24.37 billion, which missed the consensus estimate of $24.65 billion and is an increase over revenue of $22.25 billion from the same period last year.
"We continued to build on our AI leadership and momentum, delivering combined ISG and CSG revenue of $23.5 billion, up 13% year over year," said Yvonne McGill, CFO of Dell Technologies. "Our continued focus on profitability resulted in EPS growth that outpaced revenue growth, and we again delivered strong cash performance."
Dell shares fell 11.9% to trade at $124.82 on Wednesday.

These Analysts Revise Their Forecasts On Dell After Q3 Results

Former CFTC Chairman Chris Giancarlo <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/regulations/24/11/42206456/trump-administration-to-reportedly-let-cftc-regulate-bitcoin-ethereum-spot-market-is-the-sec-set-to-lose-its-grip-over-crypto">has expressed strong support</a> for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) taking on a larger role in regulating cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) and Ethereum (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>).
What Happened: "With adequate funding and under the right leadership, I think the CFTC could hit the ground running to begin regulating digital commodities on day one of Donald Trump's presidency," Giancarlo <a href="https://www.foxbusiness.com/markets/trump-admin-eyes-cftc-lead-digital-asset-regulation">told</a> FOX Business on Tuesday.
He added that the CFTC's lighter regulatory approach, compared to the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/11/42131449/with-gary-gensler-preparing-to-quit-in-2025-secs-crypto-cases-likely-to-quietly-go-away-amid-trumps-pro-bitcoin-stance-says-pantera-capitals-katrina-paglia">SEC's enforcement-heavy stance</a>, would encourage innovation while protecting market integrity.
The CFTC currently oversees the $20 trillion U.S. derivatives market, which includes futures and options trading. 
However, it lacks clear jurisdiction over cryptocurrency spot markets, where digital assets are bought and sold directly. 
Under the Trump administration's proposal, the CFTC would gain oversight of these markets and the exchanges that facilitate trading, providing long-awaited regulatory clarity for the industry.
Giancarlo, often referred to as "Crypto Dad" for his pro-digital asset stance, has long championed the CFTC's involvement in crypto. 
During his tenure, the agency recognized Bitcoin as a commodity in 2015 and approved Bitcoin futures trading. He believes expanding the CFTC's role would align with the agency's experience in handling complex financial markets. 
"The CFTC has a proven track record in overseeing derivatives markets dominated by sophisticated institutional players," Giancarlo said. 
"We are well-equipped to handle digital commodities like Bitcoin and Ethereum."

Why It Matters: Critics, however, caution that giving the CFTC broader authority could create challenges.
Some fear regulatory spillover into traditional commodities like agriculture and oil, which fall under the purview of other agencies. 
Additionally, the CFTC's $400 million budget and 700-person staff are dwarfed by the SEC's $2.4 billion budget and 5,300 employees, raising concerns about resource constraints. 
Giancarlo acknowledged these concerns but emphasized that additional funding from Congress would be necessary to ensure the agency's effectiveness. 
"We must address funding and staffing challenges if the CFTC is to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving crypto market," he said.
The push for CFTC oversight comes as the crypto industry increasingly criticizes the SEC's regulatory approach under <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/regulations/24/11/42120607/gary-gensler-to-step-down-as-sec-chair-on-trumps-inauguration-day">outgoing chairman</a> Gary Gensler.
Gensler's tenure has been marked by aggressive enforcement actions, which many in the industry view as stifling innovation.
In contrast, the CFTC is seen as more industry-friendly, with Giancarlo noting, "A pro-innovation agenda is crucial for maintaining U.S. leadership in the global digital asset space."
Giancarlo is also being considered for a new role as "crypto czar" in the Trump administration, where he could oversee cryptocurrency policy and potentially establish <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/11/42114875/coinbase-ceo-brian-armstrong-stands-out-as-candidate-for-donald-trumps-reported-crypto-czar-position-cardano-co-founder-says">an industry advisory council</a>.

The company announced plans to cease all activities of its energy storage division and reduce its workforce by about 500 employees. What To Know: In a new press release Wednesday, SolarEdge stated it was shutting down its energy storage division to prioritize its solar operations. The move will result in a workforce reduction of approximately 500 employees, largely located in South Korea.
The closure is expected to result in quarterly operating expense savings of approximately $7.5 million, with full savings anticipated to be realized by the second half of 2025. In addition, the company plans to sell assets related to its storage division, including manufacturing facilities for battery cells and packs.
&#8220;The decision to close our Energy Storage division was the result of a thoughtful analysis of our portfolio of businesses and product lines, industry trends, and the competitive environment,&#8221; said interim CEO Ronen Faier.

Nutanix, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NTNX#NASDAQ">NTNX</a>) reported better-than-expected first-quarter <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/NTNX/earnings">financial results on Tuesday</a>.
Nutanix reported quarterly earnings of 42 cents per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of 31 cents per share. The company reported quarterly sales of $590.96 million which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $571.78 million.
&#8220;During our first quarter we delivered outperformance across our guided metrics,&#8221; said Rajiv Ramaswami, President and CEO of Nutanix. &#8220;We also continued to bring innovations to the market supporting our vision of becoming the leading platform for running apps and managing data, anywhere, while strengthening our partner ecosystem.&#8221;
Nutanix said it sees FY25 revenue of $2.435 billion to $2.465 billion, non-GAAP operating margin of 16% to 17% and free cash flow of $560 million to $610 million.
Nutanix shares fell 7.4% to trade at $66.99 on Wednesday.

Nutanix Analysts Boost Their Forecasts After Upbeat Earnings

Global markets faced turbulence by midday Wednesday as an unwinding of yen-dollar carry trades drove sharp losses in U.S. equities, with the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 falling <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets">1.2% in intraday trading.</a>
Rising expectations that the Bank of Japan may raise interest rates in December pushed the dollar-yen pair down by 1.5%, marking its steepest drop since late September. This triggered a wave of &#8220;risk-off&#8221; sentiment, pressuring major indices.
The S&amp;P 500 dipped 0.5% by midday, on track to snap a seven-day winning streak, while small caps in the Russell 2000 remained relatively steady. Treasury yields fell significantly as fresh economic data failed to stoke concerns about an imminent change in the Federal Reserve's interest rate path.
The U.S. economy expanded at an annualized 2.8% in the third quarter, according to a second estimate that matched earlier print. October's Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) price index, the Fed&#8217;s preferred inflation gauge, also came in line with forecasts, <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/global/24/11/42220106/dollar-treasury-yields-stocks-fall-in-tandem-after-october-inflation-uptick">showing a modest uptick.</a>
Traders continue to bet on easier monetary policy, with Fed funds futures pricing in a 70% probability of a 25-basis-point rate cut at the Dec. 18 meeting.
In commodities market, gold inched up by 0.2%, while oil prices fell by 1% to $68 a barrel, heading for a three-day decline. Natural gas plummeted 7%, amid less cold weather forecasts reducing the outlook for heating demand.
Meanwhile, cryptocurrencies reversed their recent losing streak. Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) rallied nearly 5% to above $96,000, while Ethereum (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/eth/usd">ETH</a>) surged more than 7%, hitting price levels last seen in late June 2024.

Peering Into Hologic's Recent Short Interest

Iris Energy Ltd (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/IREN#NASDAQ">IREN</a>) released results for the first quarter on Tuesday.

On November 19 this year, C3.ai Inc. ($AI) stock got a massive boost as the company formed a strategic alliance with Microsoft ($MSFT) to increase the adoption of AI. The response was fast and furious, with AI gaining +26% on the day and +50% over the next 5 sessions hitting a peak just shy of $40. However, the bullish hue has soured a bit pulling back the last 3 sessions and dropping 10%.
We're going to examine whether the bull run is over and how to trade it using our PFP system (positioning, flows and price action).
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Options Positioning in $AI</h2>
Looking at the options positioning in the ticker, our proprietary apps tell me we have about 25% of the notional gamma coming off the board this Friday and another large chunk for the December options expiration (op-ex). With three out of every five options being a call, we have to assume there are more calls coming off the board than puts.
This leaves the stock weakening in the short term, and so this current pullback seems warranted.
However, the topping around $40 seems natural from a positioning standpoint as this is the TCS (top call strike), so I suspect profit taking and the culling of long calls is the main culprit behind this pullback.
The TGS (top gamma strike) is at $35, so I wouldn't be surprised to see the stock start to stick around the $35 strike to end the week. As long as we hold $30, we retain a bullish hue on the stock and will look to buy dips. Thus, positioning wise, I'm still bullish and looking to buy, despite the 10% pullback targeting $40/41 for the December op-ex.
Only on a daily close under $30 would I shift to bearish.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Price Action in $AI</h2>
In alignment with the positioning, if we look at the chart below, we can see there are three impulsive moves in response to the partnership news with Microsoft showing a high imbalance with the bulls.

The pullback over the last three sessions has been ‘corrective' which suggests a low imbalance of put buying and/or call selling. This means the overall price action is communicating the flows are still more likely to be bullish if they come in with size/verve.
Hence, the overall price action is still leaning bullish.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Flows in $AI</h2>
While the flows on the day are a mild amount of call selling and an even milder amount of put buying, these notional deltas are nowhere near pushing ‘impulsive/aggressive', thus overall the flows (while mildly bearish in the last 3 sessions), we suspect this is part holidays and part profit taking with no aggression to the downside.
Until I see real verve in the selling/put buying, the overall flows are leaning bullish over a medium term, thus we're retaining a bullish contour on the stock.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How We're Trading $AI</h2>
We're looking to buy dips in $AI targeting $40 for the Dec op-ex and perhaps $45 for the Jan op-ex. In terms of where we are buying $AI, that will depend upon the PFP, but I'll consider the TGS or TPS/BBP to get long.
