Adjusted EPS of&nbsp;$0.66&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/earnings" rel="noreferrer noopener">missed the consensus of&nbsp;$0.85</a>.
Total equity liquids and gas production decreased 2% Y/Y to 2,123 mboe&nbsp;per day, with equity liquids production falling&nbsp;7% Y/Y to 1,045 mboe&nbsp;per day and equity gas production rising 3% Y/Y to 1,078 mboe&nbsp;per day.

Group average liquids price fell&nbsp;7%&nbsp;Y/Y to&nbsp;$70.6/bbl, and realized piped gas price U.S. was&nbsp;$4.06/MMBtu (+74% Y/Y).
The company says that strong operational performance from most Norwegian Continental Shelf fields, notably Johan Sverdrup and Troll, largely compensated for reduced production from the Sleipner B shut-in and planned/unplanned maintenance at Hammerfest LNG.
Dividend: The board of directors declared a&nbsp;first-quarter&nbsp;ordinary cash dividend per share of&nbsp;$0.37, payable on August 29, to shareholders <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/04/g45090624/equinor-asa-key-information-relating-to-cash-dividend-for-first-quarter-2025" rel="noreferrer noopener">of&nbsp;record&nbsp;as of August 19.</a>
Repurchase: The board has launched the second tranche of its share buyback program of up to&nbsp;$1.265 billion,&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/04/g45090631/equinor-to-commence-second-tranche-of-the-2025-share-buy-back-programme" rel="noreferrer noopener">running until July 21 2025</a>.
Equinor had earlier launched a share buyback program of up to&nbsp;$5 billion&nbsp;for 2025, including shares to be redeemed from the Norwegian State, completing its two-year plan for 2024 – 2025 announced in February 2024.
Equinor clocked a total power generation of 0.76 TWh from the renewable portfolio in the quarter.
Equinor reported an adjusted operating income of&nbsp;$8.65&nbsp;billion in the quarter, with&nbsp;$7.45 billion from E&amp;P Norway,&nbsp;$531 million from E&amp;P International, and&nbsp;$511 million from E&amp;P USA.
Operating cash flow (after taxes paid) stood at&nbsp;$7.39 billion in the quarter.
Outlook: Equinor expects organic capital distributions&nbsp;of&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/calendars/guidance" rel="noreferrer noopener">around&nbsp;$13 billion&nbsp;in 2025</a>, including $9 billion in cash return (buybacks/dividends).
The company projects oil and gas production growth of about 4% in 2025, while scheduled maintenance activity is estimated to decrease equity production by around 30 mboe per day.
Anders Opedal, President and&nbsp;CEO, said, &#8220;The production start-up of the Johan Castberg field strengthens Norway&#8217;s role as a reliable energy exporter to Europe. The field opens a new region in the Barents Sea and is expected to contribute to energy supply, value creation and ripple effects for at least 30 years to come.&#8221;
&#8220;We have invested in Empire Wind after obtaining all necessary approvals, and the order to halt work now is unprecedented and in our view unlawful. This is a question of the rights and obligations granted under legally issued permits, and security of investments based on valid approvals. Palantir Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/PLTR#NASDAQ">PLTR</a>) stock is trading higher Wednesday, despite broader <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/economics/macro-economic-events/25/04/45100047/recession-odds-spike-wall-street-tumbles-as-q1-gdp-surprisingly-contracts-be-patient-trump-responds">market weakness</a>. The relative strength may be driven by continued momentum following a wave of new defense deals, as well as rising investor interest ahead of its upcoming<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/regulations/25/04/45062012/palantirs-shyam-sankar-backs-trumps-executive-orders-to-prioritize-commercial-tech-in-federal-contracts-the-default-is-commercial-and-this-time-it-has-teeth"> earnings report on May 5</a>.
What To Know: Palantir is building battlefield systems through the TITAN program, developed with defense giants like Northrop Grumman and Anduril. Palantir said it delivered its first two TITAN systems to the U.S. Army last month.
Palantir also announced in a social media post about two weeks ago that it entered into a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/trading-ideas/movers/25/04/44824755/palantir-stock-is-on-fire-this-week-outpacing-broader-markets-whats-going-on">new partnership</a> with NATO Allied Command Operations (ACO) to provide AI-enabled warfighting technology.
The company's Maven Smart System is expected to empower warfighters to leverage AI in core military operations, enhancing intelligence fusion and targeting, battlespace awareness and planning and accelerated decision-making.
Wedbush's Dan Ives said Palantir remains one of the firm's &#8220;top names to own&#8221; following the announcement, calling it a &#8220;major win&#8221; for the company. Other analysts are more cautious, with RBC Capital analyst Rishi Jaluria reiterating an Underperform rating on Tuesday with a price target of $40. 
The slew of recent deals for Palantir has investors looking ahead to earnings next week. Analysts expect Palantir to report earnings of 13 cents per share and revenue of $862.83 million, according to estimates from <a href="http://pro.benzinga.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Benzinga Pro</a>.
Palantir shares surged to new highs last quarter after the company easily exceeded estimates, driven by strong U.S. revenue growth of 52% on a year-over-year basis.
Palantir&#8217;s customer count increased 43% year-over-year after the company closed 129 deals worth over $1 million during the quarter and 58 deals worth more than $5 million.
Palantir shares broke through a key technical level around $97.75 last week and began surging back towards all-time highs. The stock is up more than 400% over the past year and has already climbed approximately 55% so far in 2025. Investors are now shifting their attention to next week&#8217;s earnings, scheduled for May 5, to see if the rally can continue. 
PLTR Price Action: Palantir shares were up 1.37% at $117.66 at the time of writing Wednesday, according to <a href="http://pro.benzinga.com">Benzinga Pro</a>.

Palantir Stock Is Up 55% YTD Heading Into Earnings Next Week: What's Going On?

LiveOne shares are trading higher after the company announced it is exploring strategic options after a $207 million Napster sale.

International Paper Company (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/IP#NYSE">IP</a>) shares are trading lower on Wednesday after the<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/04/n45093654/international-paper-reports-first-quarter-2025-results" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> company reported first-quarter results.</a>
The firm reported adjusted earnings per share of 23 cents, missing the analyst consensus estimate of 36 cents. Quarterly sales of $5.90 billion missed the street view of $6.25 billion.
The company&#8217;s <a target="_blank" href="https://s202.q4cdn.com/314366415/files/doc_financials/2025/q1/1Q25-Earnings-Presentation_Final_EXTERNAL.pdf" rel="noreferrer noopener">adjusted EBITDA margin</a> expanded to 13% in the quarter under review, compared with 9.1% in the year-ago period.
First-quarter earnings include a pre-tax charge of $271 million. The charge is related to depreciation and restructuring costs related to closing the Red River mill in Campti, Louisiana.

&#8220;Our free cash flow was temporarily impacted by transformation costs and incentive compensation payout,&#8221; said&nbsp;Andy Silvernail, Chief Executive Officer.
The company&#8217;s free cash flow was negative $618 million, compared with $144 million in the year-ago period.
Outlook: The company expects higher sales and earnings, supported by a full quarter of Packaging Solutions EMEA, improved pricing, cost reductions, and lower depreciation.
Box demand in North America is expected to rise seasonally. However, more planned outages and the absence of prior one-time gains will partly offset the results.
The company has set a 2027 target of $5.5 billion to $6 billion in adjusted EBITDA across its Packaging Solutions businesses.
Price Action: IP shares are trading lower by 4.70% to $45.40 at last check Wednesday.

What's Going On With International Paper Stock Today?

<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/donald-trump">President Donald Trump</a> took to Truth Social on Wednesday to distance himself from the current state of the stock market, reminding followers, "This is Biden's Stock Market, not Trump's."
Trump, who began his term on Jan. 20, <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114427089568235019">said</a> the current downturn "has NOTHING TO DO WITH TARIFFS" and pointed instead to what he called the lingering "Biden overhang."
"Be patient!" Trump added, asserting that a boom is coming once the hangover from the previous administration clears. He also claimed companies are "starting to move into the USA in record numbers," citing optimism around his economic plans— especially tariffs, which he said "will soon start kicking in."

Only Consumer Staples (+2.90%) and Utilities (+3.34%) have managed gains during this stretch.
Year-to-date, the SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SPY#NYSE">SPY</a>) is down over 7%, retreating from a 52-week high of $613.23 to trade at $543.29 as of April 30.
Trump made no mention of specific stock sectors or companies but emphasized that the current trajectory would shift, saying, "when the boom begins, it will be like no other."

SoFi CEO Anthony Noto told CNBC that the company will bring back cryptocurrency investing later this year following a shift in the regulatory landscape under the Trump administration. The JPMorgan analyst also noted management "leaning in" on 2025 as a year of investment in long-term growth drivers on the earnings call.&nbsp;
"​​We like SOFI's positioning and go-to-market strategy (to be the full-service bank for highly educated, digitally inclined consumers) and think the company will ultimately be a winner in the neo/digital bank space and could eventually become the &#8216;American Express&#8217; of fintech," Smith said. 
JPMorgan reiterated its Neutral rating and $16 price target on SoFi stock.

What Happened: An<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/04/44821791/meta-platforms-used-buy-or-bury-strategy-to-monopolize-social-media-ftc-says"> antitrust trial by</a> the Federal Trade Commission could cast a shadow over Meta Platforms, with its first-quarter financial results due Wednesday after the market close.
The trial accuses Meta of using a "buy or bury" strategy to acquire competing companies, such as Instagram and WhatsApp. The trial highlighted how Meta also considered buying Snap Inc. and has shut down some of the companies it previously acquired.
While a forced spinoff or breakup for Meta Platforms might sound like a bad thing, it could ultimately unlock shareholder value through a sum-of-parts valuation. This could allow each unit to trade at higher multiples and highlight individual growth.

The poll found that Instagram would be the most coveted asset if traded individually.

Why It's Important: Meta acquired Instagram for $1 billion in 2012, beating out a bid of $500 million previously offered by Twitter.
At the time of the acquisition, many experts questioned the premium valuation given Instagram's 30 million users and limited revenue.
Since the acquisition, Instagram has become one of the most important growth segments for Meta with around two billion users and hundreds of millions of daily active users.
A break-up could see Instagram get a premium valuation given its higher growth and more monetization opportunities compared to the legacy Facebook brand. Of course, the Meta Platforms/Facebook company, under a new model, could have more of the company's AI technology and platforms, which could also receive a premium valuation.
Meta has argued against the antitrust allegations, highlighting competition from TikTok and YouTube, which is owned by Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOG#NASDAQ">GOOG</a>) (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOGL#NASDAQ">GOOGL</a>). The trial remains active and will ultimately decide if Meta is forced to make any moves.
META Price Action: Meta stock trades tat $538.05 on Wednesday versus a 52-week trading range of $427.11 to $740.91. Meta stock is down 10.2% year-to-date in 2025 and up 25% over the last year.

1 &#8211; Default
If the U.S. decides not to pay back its debt, the consequences would be massive.
The entire system is built on trust…and defaulting would destroy all trust in the U.S.
The dollar would collapse, credit markets would freeze, and financial panic would ensue.
It would be a Great Depression 2.0-style event.
2 &#8211; Print
If the U.S. printed its debt away, we'd experience extreme inflation.
Possibly Weimar Republic or Zimbabwe levels of inflation.
Basic necessities would be unaffordable. Not fun.
3 &#8211; Technological &amp; deflationary boom
New technology could theoretically boost productivity to the point where the economy outgrows its debt.
Tech is deflationary because it increases productivity and reduces costs over time.
Many believe that AI, cryptocurrency, and humanoid robots are the deflating counterbalance we need to combat our debt.
So what exactly will happen?
Likely a combination of short to medium-term money printing.
Followed by a long-term solution of technological innovation.
The U.S. dollar likely won't spiral into irrelevancy like many believe.
The British pound was once the reserve currency. Today, it's still the 5th most economically relevant currency on earth.
The dollar could experience a similar fate…while tech digs us out of this hole we're in.
But no matter what happens, one thing is for certain:
The dollar is the measuring stick we use to value asset prices.
And as that measuring stick erodes, asset prices will nominally rise.
So buy assets, or get left behind.

Maxim Group Initiates Coverage On Oxbridge Re Holdings with Buy Rating, Announces Price Target of $5

UBS Group AG&nbsp;(NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/UBS#NYSE">UBS</a>)&nbsp;shares are trading lower on Wednesday. The Swiss bank reported&nbsp;first-quarter 2025 sales of&nbsp;$12.56 billion. This marked a 1% year-over-year decline and <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/earnings" rel="noreferrer noopener">fell short of the $12.99 billion consensus estimate</a>.
Underlying revenues declined slightly&nbsp;Y/Y to&nbsp;$11.9 billion.&nbsp;Underlying revenues from the core businesses rose 6% Y/Y, while revenues in the much-reduced Noncore and Legacy division declined 72% Y/Y.
Underlying operating profit before tax reached&nbsp;$2.59 billion, down 1%&nbsp;Y/Y in the quarter.
Global Wealth&nbsp;Management's&nbsp;net new assets for the&nbsp;quarter were&nbsp;$32 billion, with revenues rising&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.ubs.com/global/en/investor-relations/press-releases/overview-news-display-ndp/en-20250430-1q25-quarterly-result.html?caasID=CAAS-ActivityStream" rel="noreferrer noopener">5</a>%&nbsp;Y/Y to&nbsp;$6.25 billion.
The group posted a net profit attributable to shareholders of&nbsp;$1.69 billion&nbsp;for the quarter vs. $1.76 billion a year ago quarter. EPS&nbsp;of&nbsp;51 cents&nbsp;beat the consensus of&nbsp;41 cents.
The CET1 capital ratio, a measure of bank liquidity, was&nbsp;14.3%, compared to 14.8% in the year-ago quarter.
UBS CEO&nbsp;Sergio P. Ermotti stated, "The power and scale of our diversified global franchise, coupled with our continued focus on clients, drove strong business momentum in the quarter and net new inflows in our asset-gathering businesses."
"With increased uncertainty in markets and the macroeconomic outlook, we continue to focus on supporting clients, delivering on our financial targets, and acting as an engine of economic growth in the communities we serve."
Buyback: The bank completed share buybacks&nbsp;worth $0.5 billion and reserved $2.5 billion for planned share repurchases for the remainder of 2025.
Outlook: In the second quarter, UBS anticipates a low-single-digit percentage sequential decline in net interest income (NII) within Global Wealth Management and a similar decrease in Swiss franc terms <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/calendars/guidance" rel="noreferrer noopener">for Personal &amp; Corporate Banking's NII</a>.
Meanwhile, Personal &amp; Corporate Banking's NII is expected to increase sequentially by a mid-single-digit percentage in USD terms.
The bank noted that the continued market uncertainty could potentially delay the execution of their Global Banking pipeline.
Pull-to-par revenues are projected to reach $0.6 billion, which is anticipated to offset the expected $1.1 billion in integration-related expenses partly.

Eli Lilly&#8217;s stock is flashing a strongly bullish technical setup, with its stock at $896.20, trading well above key moving averages across the board. Specifically, the company&#8217;s stock is comfortably positioned above its five-day, 20-day and 50-day exponential moving averages, signaling firm upward momentum and sustained buying interest.

Eli Lilly Stock Has The Technicals: Will Q1 Earnings Deliver Fundamentals?

First Solar, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/FSLR#NASDAQ">FSLR</a>) shares are trading lower on Wednesday after the company reported worse-than-expected earnings for the first quarter and cut its <a href="https://in.benzinga.com/news/earnings/25/04/45085368/first-solar-falls-short-on-q1-earnings-cuts-fy-guidance-due-to-tariffs-shares-tumble">full-year outlook</a>.
What To Know: First Solar reported first-quarter earnings per share of $1.95, missing analyst estimates of $2.63. In addition, the solar company reported sales of $844.57 million, beating analyst estimates of $839.28 million, despite being down $700 million from the prior quarter.
Outlook: The company also cut its full-year 2025 guidance. First Solar previously projected earnings per share between $17 and $20, but said it now expects earnings per share of $12.50 to $17.50, below analyst estimates of $18.20.
The company also lowered its sales guidance from between $5.30 billion to $5.80 billion to a new range of between $4.50 billion to $5.50 billion, versus analyst estimates of $5.46 billion, according to <a href="http://pro.benzinga.com">Benzinga Pro</a>.
&#8220;Despite the near-term challenges presented by the new tariff regime, we believe that the long-term&nbsp;outlook&nbsp;for solar demand, particularly in our core U.S. market, remains strong, and that First Solar remains well-positioned to serve this demand,&#8221; said Mark Widmar, CEO. 
&#8220;This belief is based on the unique profile of First Solar compared to its peers, as America&#8217;s largest, and most established solar module manufacturer, and the country&#8217;s only fully vertically integrated producer, our significant network of domestic supply chain vendors, and our proprietary CadTel-based semiconductor.&#8221;
Analyst Changes: Following the earnings report, Keybanc downgraded First Solar to Underweight and set a new price target of $100 and Oppenheimer analysts downgraded the stock to Perform. Multiple analyst firms also lowered <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/insights/analyst-ratings/25/04/45100958/a-glimpse-into-the-expert-outlook-on-first-solar-through-21-analysts">price targets</a>.
