The Fund employs a passive management or indexing investment approach designed to track the performance of the Underlying Index, which was developed by IndexIQ LLC (IndexIQ) with Candriam Belgium S.A. (Candriam) acting as index consultant to IndexIQ. The Underlying Index incorporates thematic selection criteria designed to provide exposure to equity securities of companies that support the transition to more environmentally efficient transportation technologies, such as electric vehicles, bicycles, motor vehicle parts manufacturers, and multi-passenger transportation. The Underlying Index includes companies engaged in renewable energy production, sustainable mining for battery resources, vehicle production and sustainable transportation infrastructure. Companies selected for inclusion in the Underlying Index offer, support or enable cleaner transportation products and services. A company included in the Underlying Index is not required to be primarily or even directly engaged in activities that protect or achieve cleaner transportation technologies. The Underlying Index includes thematic selection criteria developed by IndexIQ and Candriam that reflect initiatives, research and programs of the National Wildlife Federation (NWF), a 501(c)(3) public charity. The Underlying Index includes securities of large-, mid- and small-capitalization companies that trade in the U.S. and foreign markets, including emerging markets other than China, Egypt, India, Kuwait, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates. The index universe consists of approximately the largest 99% of the free-float market capitalization in the global markets. As of September 30, 2021, the market capitalization range of the Underlying Index was approximately $1.0 billion to $1.8 trillion. As of September 30, 2021, the primary sectors within the Underlying Index are consumer discretionary, industrials and information technology.

During the third quarter of 2024, CVS Health <a target="_blank" href="https://www.cvshealth.com/content/dam/enterprise/cvs-enterprise/pdfs/2024/Q3-2024-Earnings-Release.pdf" rel="noreferrer noopener">finalized</a> its restructuring plan and recorded restructuring charges of approximately $1.2 billion, including store impairment charges for additional retail pharmacy stores it plans to close in 2025.
Revenues in the Health Care Benefits segment increased 25.5% to $32.99 billion. The Medical benefit ratio increased to 95.2% from 85.7% a year ago. Medical membership reached 27.1 million.
Health Services segment revenues decreased 5.9% to $44.13 billion. Pharmacy claims processed decreased 16.5%.
Concurrently, CVS&nbsp;Health announced&nbsp;that Prem&nbsp;Shah will be Group President and responsible for the operational performance across CVS Caremark, CVS Pharmacy, and the company&#8217;s <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/24/11/n41769048/cvs-health-announces-leadership-appointments" rel="noreferrer noopener">Healthcare Delivery businesses</a>.
In addition, the company appointed Steve Nelson&nbsp;as President of Aetna. Both appointments are effective today.
Pharmacy &amp; Consumer Wellness segment revenues increased 12.3% to $32.42 billion, primarily driven by increased prescription volume, including increased contributions from vaccinations and pharmacy drug mix.
In October, CVS Health appointed David Joyner as its new president and CEO, replacing&nbsp;Karen Lynch amid the company&#8217;s&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/24/10/n41398693/cvs-health-appoints-david-joyner-president-and-chief-executive-officer" rel="noreferrer noopener">ongoing financial struggles</a>.
The company also withdrew the 2024 guidance provided in the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/24/10/41399396/pharmacy-retailer-cvs-health-backs-away-from-annual-forecast-names-new-ceo" rel="noreferrer noopener">second-quarter earnings release</a>.

Screening revenue was $545 million, an increase of 15%, and Precision Oncology&#8217;s revenue was $164 million, an increase of 5% on a reported and core revenue basis.

William Blair notes that management attributed the lower-than-expected guidance primarily to challenges affecting the screening segment.
While these explanations are logical, they raise questions about why certain factors weren&#8217;t identified or addressed sooner. Management, however, took full responsibility and conveyed a sincere commitment to improving performance, the analyst writes.
Despite these hurdles, the analyst remains optimistic about revenue growth in 2025, highlighting several factors within the company&#8217;s control.
William Blair emphasizes that investors will likely want to see clear signs of improved execution and revenue growth resuming in 2025.
With shares trading down, the analyst writes that valuation is at a compelling long-term entry point.

The decrease in reported sales is largely related to lower sales in its Office Depot Division, primarily due to 53 fewer retail locations in service compared to the previous year and reduced transactions, as well as lower sales in its ODP Business Solutions Division.
