To commemorate his first 100 days back in office, President Donald Trump will host more than two dozen top executives and CEO&#8217;s at the White House this week to highlight a range of investments from some of the biggest companies in the world.
What Happened: Leaders from NVIDIA Corp (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>), Johnson &amp; Johnson (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/JNJ#NYSE">JNJ</a>), Hyundai Motor (OTC:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/HYMTF#OTC">HYMTF</a>), Toyota Motor Corp (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TM#NYSE">TM</a>), and SoftBank Group (OTC:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SFTBF#OTC">SFTBF</a>) are expected to be present at the "Investing in America" event on Wednesday, according to White House officials who spoke to Reuters. 
Trump intends to showcase recent investments in sectors like healthcare, defense, artificial intelligence, and consumer goods.
In January, Trump announced a private-sector pledge of up to $500 billion toward <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/25/01/43400191/openais-100-billion-texas-stargate-data-center-will-reportedly-employ-just-57-people-with-57600-annual-salaries">AI infrastructure</a> with support from OpenAI, SoftBank, and Oracle.

Why It Matters: The event comes amid <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/25/04/44970516/boeing-adjusts-strategy-amid-trump-tariff-fallout-ceo-kelly-ortberg-says-wont-build-aircraft-for-customers-who-will-not-take-them-as-china-halts-deliveries">rising concerns </a>from industries dealing with tariff-induced disturbances. While Trump repeatedly <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/04/44811525/trump-hypes-500b-nvidia-investment-in-us-ai-supercomputers-golden-age-of-america-begins">called on global companies</a> to expand U.S. operations, automakers and manufacturers have expressed concerns over policy clarity and regulatory consistency. 
"I need clarity, and then I need consistency," said GM CEO Mary Barra last week, according to Reuters.
Despite the ambiguity, recent investments —like <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/2025/03/more-investment-more-jobs-and-more-money-in-americans-pockets/">Hyundai's $21 billion U.S. commitment</a> and a new $5.8 billion steel plant in Louisiana — are being presented as proof of economic optimism. 
According to Reuters, White House spokesperson Kush Desai said, "Trillions in historic investment commitments since President Trump was elected from industry leaders including TSMC, Apple, and Roche demonstrate resounding confidence in the U.S. economy and dollar under this administration."
Still, with many companies waiting for more definitive trade policies before planning expansions, Trump's pitch this week will show how far investor confidence can hold amid the changing landscape.

Nvidia, Johnson & Johnson, Hyundai, Toyota, SoftBank CEOs To Join Trump At White House As He Touts Investment Surge In First 100 Days: Report

Shares of Leggett &amp; Platt, Incorporated (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/LEG#NYSE">LEG</a>) rose sharply in pre-market trading after the company reported better-than-expected first-quarter EPS results and <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/LEG/earnings">raised its FY25 EPS guidance</a>.
Leggett &amp; Platt reported quarterly earnings of 24 cents per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of 22 cents per share. The company reported quarterly sales of $1.02 billion which met the analyst consensus estimate.
Leggett &amp; Platt shares jumped 14.8% to $8.35 in pre-market trading.

Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) said that the company expects the first units of the Semi to enter production by the end of the year.
What Happened: Dan Priestley, the head of Tesla's Semi Program, said that the Giga factory in Nevada can produce 50,000 units annually, Reuters reported on Tuesday.
"First units are set to be on the line by the end of this year, and we&#8217;ll be ramping the factory throughout 2026," he said in the report.
Why It Matters: News of the Semi production comes in as Tesla's plans to scale the truck's <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/04/44831422/donald-trumps-145-tariffs-on-china-could-disrupt-teslas-cybercab-semi-production-report">production were disrupted</a> by U.S. President Donald Trump's tariffs on China.
Elon Musk's EV giant was ready to ‘absorb' the costs of the imports when tariffs were at 34%, but the plan has since become unfeasible due to the 145% tariffs on Chinese goods.
The company has also committed to <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/05/38936949/tesla-semi-fleet-grows-as-pepsico-takes-delivery-of-another-50-ev-trucks">delivering Semi trucks</a> to PepsiCo Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/PEP#NASDAQ">PEP</a>). Tesla had previously delivered over 50 EV Semi Trucks to PepsiCo last year.
Elsewhere, Musk has reiterated that the company is on track to release its robotaxi, a ride-hailing service that utilizes Tesla's FSD technology, in June. The company has already begun services in <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/tech/25/04/44972108/tesla-quietly-launched-robotaxi-service-for-employees-before-june-debut-now-reports-1500-completed-trips">a limited rollout r</a>estricted to company employees in Austin and the San Francisco Bay Area, and has already completed 1,500 trips.

Tesla's First Batch Of Semi Trucks To Roll Out From Nevada Plant By Late 2025, Despite Disruption From Trump's 145% Tariffs

Soft drinks giant, Coca-Cola Co.&#8216;s (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/KO#NYSE">KO</a>) playbook for global scale and distribution is back in focus amid growing geopolitical uncertainties. 
What Happened: Last week, JPMorgan Chase &amp; Co. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/JPM#NYSE">JPM</a>) analysts raised their price target for Coca-Cola Co. to $78 per share by the end of 2025, up from $74 previously, citing the company&#8217;s resilience amid growing tensions and uncertainties surrounding tariffs. The move came ahead of Coca-Cola's first-quarter earnings report.
The analysts, led by Andrea Teixeira, maintained their &#8220;Overweight&#8221; rating on the stock, highlighting the company's strong defensive qualities and describing it as a &#8220;port in a storm,&#8221; according <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2025/04/21/jpmorgan-says-coca-cola-is-a-port-in-a-storm-as-staple-outperforms-market.html">to</a> a report by CNBC.

According to Teixeira, Coca-Cola's broad geographic reach, with the U.S. accounting for just 17% of its total volumes, helps the company offset slowdowns in some regions with stronger-than-expected performance in others.
While she acknowledged that Coca-Cola is not completely immune to tariffs or a potential global economic slowdown, she argued the company is &#8220;relatively more defensive&#8221; due to its strong organic sales growth. She also noted that the direct impact of tariffs is largely limited to the juice, which is sourced both locally and internationally.
Teixeira notes that the 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum will have an impact if the company&#8217;s bottlers offset the cost by passing it on to the consumers. &#8220;The company helps bottlers manage through the impacts through its cross-enterprise procurement team, and also can <a href="https://benzinga.com/news/25/02/43759161/coca-cola-warns-trumps-tariffs-could-force-it-to-use-more-plastic-if-aluminium-cans-become-more-expensive-we-can-shift-to-pet">emphasize different package types</a> if there is cost pressure on aluminum,&#8221; she adds.
Why It Matters: Coca-Cola&#8217;s resilience to geopolitical uncertainties has been built over several decades of careful supply-chain and distribution planning, which involves working with several local bottling partners in each country it operates in. 
Early this year, the company&#8217;s CEO, James Quincey, said, &#8220;we are predominantly a local business when it comes to making each of the beverages.&#8221; 
&#8220;The vast majority of everything that&#8217;s consumed in the U.S. is made in the U.S. Similarly, we&#8217;re in virtually every country around the world. And so while it&#8217;s a global business, it&#8217;s very local,&#8221; he added, while speaking with analysts during the company&#8217;s fourth quarter earnings release.
Just last week, it was reported that the company is <a href="https://benzinga.com/markets/equities/25/04/44892858/coca-cola-escapes-new-tariff-costs-with-us-based-production-while-pepsicos-irish-supply-faces-10-levy">escaping the tariffs</a> imposed by President Donald Trump, since all of its concentrates are made within the United States. This was in sharp contrast to PepsiCo Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/PEP#NASDAQ">PEP</a>), which imports a bulk of its concentrates from Ireland, which is now subject to 10% tariffs.
Price Action: The company&#8217;s stock was down 0.17% on Monday, and is down 0.13% in after-hours trading, ahead of the company&#8217;s first quarter earnings on Tuesday.

Geoffrey Hinton, known as the &#8220;Godfather of AI,&#8221; has joined a growing chorus of experts and former employees urging regulators to block OpenAI's controversial <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/09/41038183/openais-restructure-from-non-profit-to-potential-150b-for-profit-sam-altman-could-get-equity">restructuring plans</a>.
What Happened: On Monday, Hinton took to X, formerly Twitter, expressing support for efforts to halt OpenAI's transition to a more profit-driven structure.

The AI expert has <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/legal/25/04/44975360/geoffrey-hinton-ex-openai-insiders-and-top-ai-experts-sound-alarm-on-openais-restructuring-warn-it-could-strip-public-of-oversight-betray-agi-mission">signed an open letter addressed</a> to California Attorney General Rob Bonta and Delaware Attorney General Kathy Jennings. Uber Technologies Inc. is rescinding remote work privileges and making in-office attendance mandatory, following months of other tech giants issuing <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/25/04/44971069/google-to-remote-workers-return-to-office-3-days-a-week-or-take-a-buyout-report">similar directives</a>. The new development was announced internally on Monday and is part of a company-wide push to modify operations under CEO Dara Khosrowshahi.
What Happened: From June, Uber employees will have to work from the office three days a week. Currently, only two days are mandatory. This rule will be applicable for workers who had previously been granted remote status. In a memo viewed <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2025/04/28/uber-raises-in-office-requirement-to-3-days-claws-back-remote-workers.html">by</a> CNBC, Khosrowshahi said, "I want to emphasize that ‘good' is not going to be good enough — we need to be great." 
Tuesday through Thursday have been designated as mandatory in-office days. The company is also phasing out most new fully remote recruits and reconsidering work-from-home arrangements it had granted earlier.
Uber did not immediately respond to <a href="http://pro.benzinga.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Benzinga</a>'s request for comment.

Uber&#8217;s leadership team has said that attendance will be tracked, both at the team and individual levels.
Apart from the RTO move, Uber also changed its eligibility criteria for its one-month paid sabbatical from five to eight years of service. This decision generated speedy internal criticism. "This isn't ‘doing the right thing' for your employees," one staffer posted on the company's Q&amp;A forum, as per CNBC. Khosrowshahi and Chief People Officer Nikki Krishnamurthy are scheduled to address employee doubts and queries concerns at an all-hands meeting on Tuesday.
