On Wednesday, Alibaba showcased ZEROSEARCH technology, which it said can cut <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/global/25/05/45536373/alibaba-says-it-can-slash-ai-training-costs-by-90-with-newly-launched-zerosearch-heres-what-it-does" rel="noreferrer noopener">AI training costs</a> by nearly 90% by helping LLMs simulate search behavior without making actual Application Programming Interface calls to search engines during the training process.
Alibaba&#8217;s cloud division is upgrading its AI offerings globally with expanded platform-as-a-service options and enhanced proprietary large language models, including&nbsp;the Qwen-Max and QwQ-Plus&nbsp;reasoning models.
Alibaba Group reported its fiscal fourth-quarter revenue growth of 7% to $32.58 billion, missing the analyst consensus estimate of $33.08 billion. It clocked an adjusted earnings per ADS of $1.73, which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $1.48. 
Cloud Intelligence Group revenue grew by 18% Y/Y to $4.15 billion. However, Alibaba&#8217;s cloud infrastructure expansion <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/25/05/45437447/alibaba-stock-slides-5-after-revenue-miss-cloud-spend-hits-free-cash-flow" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">led to a decline</a> in its free cash flow by 76% to $516 million.
Benchmark analyst Fawne Jiang <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/05/45473543/alibabas-cloud-and-e-commerce-units-shine-as-analyst-sees-ai-take-rates-fueling-future-growth" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">expects Cloud to</a> maintain momentum with new customer onboarding and cross-selling. The analyst continues to view Alibaba as a leading beneficiary of accelerated AI adoption in China and a top structural player in the sector.
BABA Price Action: Alibaba shares traded lower by 0.72% at $120.61 at publication on Friday.

Faraday Future Intelligent Electric Inc. The 108,000-square-foot facility, located in the Al Hamra area of the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone in the United Arab Emirates, was unveiled during a formal handover ceremony. The site supports Faraday&#8217;s &#8220;Third Pole&#8221; strategy, which aims to expand its footprint beyond its dual home markets, the U.S. and China.
Designed to support the company&#8217;s core electric vehicle lineup and upcoming FX models, the facility will serve as an operational base for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. The site includes office space, an engineering workshop, and regional coordination functions. Faraday also plans to expand its services to Europe and North Africa.

Matthias Aydt, global co-CEO of Faraday Future, emphasized the UAE&#8217;s strategic importance as a regional hub. He said the facility could create up to 200 skilled jobs and help develop a sustainable, AI-powered mobility ecosystem. The company also intends to establish regional research and development capabilities and a localized supply chain based in Ras Al Khaimah.
Operations are expected to begin in the second half of 2025, focusing on integrating intelligent technology into mobility solutions.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, Faraday Future&#8217;s Chinese affiliate, FF Automotive (China) Co. Ltd., said it had <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/05/b45510171/faraday-future-engages-leading-financial-advisor-to-help-advance-global-ai-and-aiev-m-a-strategy-a" rel="noreferrer noopener">engaged</a> a top financial advisory firm to explore potential mergers, acquisitions, and capital market opportunities in China.
The move aligns with the company&#8217;s global AI electric vehicle strategy, which seeks to acquire innovative, cost-effective technologies to create long-term value and expand its role in the intelligent mobility sector.
FFAI hit a 52-week high of $58.80 and a low of $0.83, closing at $1.13 on May 22, down 98% from its peak. Despite this, shares have rebounded over 35% from the low, though still down 53% year-to-date.

Adjusted EPS declined to 18 cents from 62 cents a year ago,&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/earnings" rel="noreferrer noopener">missing the consensus of 23 cents</a>.
The company&#8217;s reported spot time charter equivalent earnings&nbsp;(TCEs) for VLCCs, Suezmax tankers, and LR2/Aframax tankers were&nbsp;$37,200 (vs.&nbsp;$48,100 last year),&nbsp;$31,200 (vs.&nbsp;$45,800 last year) and&nbsp;$22,300 (vs.&nbsp;$54,300 prior year) per day.
At the close of the&nbsp;first quarter of 2025, contracted ballast days totaled 887 for VLCCs, 306 for Suezmax tankers, and 216 for LR2/Aframax tankers.

As of March 31, 2025, the company owned a fleet of 81 vessels, including 41 VLCCs, 22 Suezmax tankers, and 18 LR2/Aframax tankers, with a total capacity of approximately 17.8 million DWT.
Net operating income for the quarter declined to&nbsp;$93.2 million&nbsp;from&nbsp;$251.3 million&nbsp;a year ago. Operating cash flow was&nbsp;$137.9 million&nbsp;in the&nbsp;first quarter, compared to&nbsp;$171.3 million&nbsp;in the same quarter a year ago.
The company held cash and cash equivalents of&nbsp;$436.5 million&nbsp;at the end of the quarter. The Board declared a&nbsp;$0.18 per share dividend for the first quarter, payable on or about June 24, 2025, with a record date of June 12, 2025.

Inger M. Klemp, CFO of Frontline Management AS, said, &#8220;Through our refinancings in 2025, we have further strengthened our strong liquidity, leaving the company with no meaningful debt maturities until 2030, and further reduced our borrowing costs and cash breakeven rates.&#8221;
Frontline expects spot TCEs for the&nbsp;second quarter&nbsp;of 2025 to be lower than the spot TCEs currently contracted, primarily <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/calendars/guidance" rel="noreferrer noopener">due to the impact of ballast days</a>.

The Ethereum network has completed the Pectra upgrade that doubled the capacity of its layer-2 solutions. The upgrade improved validator tools, as well as smart wallets, which make products in the Ethereum ecosystem easier to use.
Stripe has integrated Ethereum-based stablecoin accounts, enabling users in more than 100 countries to receive, send, and store assets like USDC. Ethereum has the potential to become the global infrastructure for decentralized finance.

Buckle exited the first quarter with cash and equivalents worth $268.884 million.
Inventory at the end of the quarter was $132.395 million.
At the end of the quarter, income from operations was $43.546 million, compared with $42.396 million a year ago.
