Palantir has now met or exceeded Wall Street's earnings and revenue expectations for seven straight quarters. Yet the company&#8217;s valuation, which some analysts say reflects 65 times its revenue, is drawing comparisons to previous tech high-fliers like Snowflake Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SNOW#NYSE">SNOW</a>), whose valuations came back down to earth.
"This is a retail-driven story," Thill said. "There's not a single institutional investor I talk to that even talks about this."
Ives pushed back on that view, arguing that institutional skepticism has left many money managers behind the curve on one of the most transformative companies in AI.&nbsp;

Palantir projects second-quarter revenue between $934 million and $938 million, again topping analyst expectations. The company currently has a market cap of $292.05 billion.
Price Action: Palantir shares have gained 64.61% so far this year and surged 390.96% over the past 12 months. On Monday, the stock dipped 0.41% during regular trading and slid another 9.25% in after-hours trading, closing at $112.32, according to<a href="http://pro.benzinga.com/"> data from Benzinga Pro</a>.
Analysts have set a consensus price target of $69.76 for Palantir, based on input from 25 firms. The most bullish projection comes from Loop Capital, which issued a $125 target on March 13, 2025.

Palantir Is A 'Retail-Driven Story,' Says Top Analyst As PLTR Stock Falls 9% In After-Hours: 'Not A Single Institutional Investor...Talks About This'

Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) CEO Elon Musk shared a host of updates, outlining what he believes the future holds for the billionaire's ventures, including TSLA, SpaceX, and Neuralink.
What Happened: "It's a company that I've grown and nurtured over twenty years," Musk said about Tesla in an interview with Fox News on Sunday.
"Tesla in a few months will release Unsupervised Full Self-Driving," Musk said before sharing that the Unsupervised FSD tech will first see application in Austin, Texas, before being rolled out to the rest of the U.S.
"In fact, in the future, it'll be unusual to see a manually-driven car. It'll be like seeing a horse," Musk said, highlighting his optimism for the technology's far-reaching impacts.
He then shared an update on Tesla's Optimus line of humanoid robots, calling it a "personal R2D2 or a C3PO robot buddy" and predicted it'll be a "massive, massive product."
Musk went on to reiterate his ambitions of setting up a city on Mars with SpaceX before sharing an update about Neuralink's BCI (Brain-Computer Interface) called Blindsight, which the billionaire says will help blind people see, including those who have been blind from birth.
"Hopefully we'll be able to do the first Blindsight implant in a human later this year, within the next 12 months, I'm quite confident we can do that," Musk said. He also shared how the company hopes to begin work on a Neuralink implant, which will help people with a "severed spinal column to walk again."
Why It Matters: Musk's comments in the interview come as Tesla will begin its robotaxi operations in June. The company has already released the robotaxi in a limited rollout and completed over 1,500 trips.&nbsp;
Tesla and other U.S.-based autonomous driving companies also got a boost from the Trump administration <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/04/45001024/trump-administration-announces-exemptions-for-autonomous-driving-companies-in-the-us-eases-self-driving-crash-report-requirements">through exemptions</a> in the U.S. auto safety standards.

Elsewhere, Musk's SpaceX added over 28 satellites to its low Earth orbit constellation of Starlink space-based internet services. However, experts have raised concerns about <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/space/25/05/45163320/as-elon-musks-spacex-adds-28-starlinks-research-flags-climate-impact-from-deorbiting-satellites">the ecological impacts</a> of the satellites deorbiting and reentering the Earth's atmosphere.

Tesla's Elon Musk Says Manually-Driven Cars Will Be 'Unusual' In The Future, Shares Updates On SpaceX, Neuralink

As the U.S. dollar is trading 8.02% lower year-to-date, this expert believes that the dollar depreciation is fueling the &#8220;powerful tailwind for multinational earnings.&#8221;
What Happened: According to Jeremy Siegel, a senior economist at WisdomTree, the U.S. dollar&#8217;s significant decline this year is strongly boosting multinational companies&#8217; earnings.
He underscores in his weekly commentary that about half of the S&amp;P 500 revenue comes from overseas, which could offset the negative impact of tariffs on corporate profits.
&#8220;With 40-45% of S&amp;P 500 revenues sourced abroad, that currency translation effect alone could cushion the impact of tariffs on corporate profits,&#8221; said Seigel.
&#8220;This, alongside hopes of deal-making and eventual tariff de-escalation, is underpinning the market's recovery,&#8221; he adds.
Meanwhile, he continues to remain positive on the stocks as he explains that stock markets tend to overreact to recessions.
&#8220;While earnings may drop if the economy turns south, the long-horizon value of equities should not fall 20–25%, as often happens. If investors finally look "beyond the valley into the mountain," the downside could be limited even in a mild recession.&#8221;

Economist Peter Schiff is challenging conventional wisdom that China needs the United States more than vice versa, questioning just how essential U.S. consumer demand really is for China&#8217;s manufacturing engine, amid a surge in the global middle-class consumer base.
What Happened: On Sunday, Schiff, a vocal critic of President Donald Trump's tariff policies, pushed back against a growing pro-tariff narrative that claims China has no alternative buyers for its manufactured goods besides American consumers, in a post on X.
&#8220;It's said there's no way China can find buyers for its manufactured goods without U.S. consumers,&#8221; Schiff said. &#8220;But we're only 4% of the world's population.&#8221;

Schiff contends that the true constraint on global consumption is the artificially inflated U.S. dollar. He argues that if the dollar were to depreciate by 50% against a basket of global currencies, &#8220;the savings and incomes of the other 96% would double,&#8221; boosting the purchasing power of China's &#8220;other customers.&#8221;

He explains this further by stating that demand in the U.S. is a function of the Dollar&#8217;s exchange rate. &#8220;If the dollar falls relative to other currencies, the purchasing power of Americans is transferred abroad,&#8221; Schiff says. In other words, as the dollar weakens, consumers in other countries gain greater purchasing power.

Recently, Tesla Inc. CEO, Elon Musk, said in a post on X that China was already a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/25/04/45124693/elon-musk-reacts-after-ray-dalio-warns-of-us-decline-says-china-has-already-surpassed-america-as-glo">much bigger consumer</a> of manufactured goods than the U.S. He added that &#8220;This year, Chinese consumers will buy more cars than America and Europe combined.&#8221;
This was in response to an article on X by hedge fund manager Ray Dalio, regarding how &#8220;the United States&#8217; role as the world&#8217;s biggest consumer of manufactured goods and greatest producer of debt assets to finance its over-consumption is unsustainable.&#8221;

Analysts at Deutsche Bank AG have called it a &#8220;simultaneous collapse&#8221; of U.S. assets, with stocks, bonds, and the dollar all <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/25/04/44756751/full-spectrum-collapse-top-bank-rings-alarm-over-simultaneous-fall-of-us-assets">falling in tandem</a>.
Schiff has repeatedly argued that a strong yuan and a weaker U.S. dollar may actually benefit Beijing by boosting domestic consumption, countering the narrative that China would <a href="https://benzinga.com/markets/bonds/25/04/44805832/peter-schiff-counters-claims-china-wont-sell-us-treasuries-fearing-strong-currency-but-a-strong-yuan-might-suit-beijing">avoid dumping U.S. Treasuries</a> to protect its own economy.
