Dave Ramsey has educated millions of people about their finances through his books and "The Ramsey Show." He is an advocate for getting rid of debt and using cash to finance as much as you can. He recently shared a video clip in an <a href="https://x.com/DaveRamsey/status/1908584849083875393">X post</a> that covers a key detail about financial success.&nbsp;

It's normal to make mistakes, but we only get better from them if we learn from them. Ramsey has spoken with many callers who made mistakes with their finances. Some of those callers recovered while others continued to make the same mistakes. Here's how you can stand on your pile of mistakes instead of getting buried by them.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Accept That You Have To Change</h2>
You can only avoid making the same mistakes over and over again if you accept that you have to change. Being comfortable with change and opening yourself up to improvement makes it easier to correct previous financial woes.
Once you become flexible to the idea of change, you have to figure out which change will lead to the most progress. Ramsey has suggested that people cut up their credit cards and stop using them if they are deep in debt. He also believes in the debt snowball method, an approach where you pay off your smaller debt first to build momentum.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Think About Where You Will Be If You Don't Change</h2>
A deep credit card debt and no money in savings may feel surpassable when you are in your early 20s. However, if you continue this route, it can have dire consequences. Ramsey has had calls with people in their 60s and 70s who have to continue working because Social Security isn't enough and they have no savings.
The decisions you make will compound in the long run. People who continue to spend frivolously won't have money left when they need it the most. People can't work forever, especially in physically demanding jobs. A financial safety net makes it easier to retire and gives you more options.
Making the same mistakes likely won't lead to a good path. You may fall short of critical financial goals and find yourself making uncomfortable sacrifices later in life. You can either have short-term pain for long-term gain or wind up with short-term gain for long-term pain. It's better to make sacrifices now than later, and part of that is correcting your mistakes.
Envision how your life will look if you correct your mistakes compared to how it will look if you ignore your weaknesses. Keeping those two scenarios in mind can help you take the necessary actions to get back on track.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Building Good Habits</h2>
Making mistakes not only teaches you what to avoid but also helps you develop good habits. For instance, someone who makes impulsive purchases can adopt the 30-day rule before buying non-essentials.&nbsp;
People who follow this rule wait until 30 days before they make a purchase. If it's not an essential item, you will forget about the purchase or opt against it. However, if you still want to buy something after thinking about it for 30 days, the item holds some value.
Working on your credit card debt can also lead to good money habits like setting a budget and reviewing your expenses at the end of each month. These habits can help you cut unnecessary expenses like unused subscriptions.

What Happened: According to <a href="https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/xrp/">data</a> from CoinMarketCap, the XRP has been steadily regaining key support levels. The digital asset rebounded from a low of $1.94 on Friday to $2.06 on Saturday, marking a 2.63% increase within 24 hours.
Friday&#8217;s trading session saw a transfer of 200 million XRP, worth approximately $402.7 million, from&nbsp;Ripple&nbsp;to an undisclosed wallet. 
This follows a February spike in XRP&#8217;s realized cap, which&nbsp;nearly doubled from $30.1 billion&nbsp;to $64.2 billion, largely driven by new investors.
Currently,&nbsp;around 6 million old supply&nbsp;accounts for 62.8% of XRP&#8217;s realized cap, a significant increase from just&nbsp;23%. This rapid concentration in&nbsp;new holdings indicates strong retail activity but also highlights potential fragility due to elevated cost bases.

Despite the Trumps&#8217; active promotion of the project, there have been concerns raised about potential conflicts of interest, considering the administration&#8217;s influence over regulations.
Earlier this year, Trump Media &amp; Technology Group Corp.&nbsp;applied to trademark brands for&nbsp;investment products, including a &#8220;Truth.Fi Bitcoin Plus ETF.&#8221; The company intends to collaborate&nbsp;with Crypto.com to launch the&nbsp;ETF.

"But I didn&#8217;t make that choice and I don&#8217;t regret it for a second.&nbsp;I used my nest egg to buy something infinitely more valuable than money: I used it to&nbsp;<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/23/04/31687018/couple-uses-huge-airbnb-profits-to-buy-time-they-only-spend-1-hour-working-per-week">buy time</a>," Buffett said.

The musician used the money to buy time to pursue something that he enjoys waking up and doing&nbsp;each day, which is exactly what his father tells young people to do. It only takes one irrational moment to destroy weeks, months, even years of progress. I've been there.
The Early Days: Curiosity Over Cash
I entered the markets in 2019–2020, during the chaos of COVID. But money wasn't what drew me in. It was the game.
Before I ever looked at charts or watched economic news, I was trading items in video games—"Team Fortress 2," and "Counter Strike." I'd challenge myself to start with something small and trade my way up to a higher-value item. Sometimes I'd win, sometimes I'd lose, but it built a foundation. I loved the strategy behind it, the negotiation, the edge you could find.
When I discovered financial markets, it felt like an extension of that. Only this time, the stakes were real.

Early Success&#8230; and the Trap It Set
Like many during that time, I got lucky early on. The markets were in a historic bull run. I made gains, consistently. That consistency gave me a false sense of security. Without knowing it, I was programming my brain to believe I'd always win. I didn't care about volatility. I didn't care about risk. I didn't even have a system.
I thought I knew what I was doing. I didn't.
When Reality Hit
The 2021–2022 inflation crisis was the wake-up call.
I was heavily involved in crypto and had entered Ethereum early. As the markets started to unravel, the pain of losing was far more intense than any of the highs I felt from winning. I began holding onto positions, not because it made sense, but because I couldn't accept being wrong. I didn't want to admit that the market had changed. I didn't want to let go of the identity I built during the bull run.
And that's the danger of trading without emotional discipline. The market doesn't care how much conviction you have. It doesn't care about your feelings or how badly you want to be right. If you don't adapt, it will punish you.
I watched a large portion of my gains disappear because I held, and held, and held. Not because I had a plan—but because I was emotionally attached.

The Lesson
So what's the takeaway?
You&#8217;re human. You&#8217;re going to make mistakes. You're going to have moments where you believe so deeply in a setup or investment that you ignore the warning signs. That's okay—if you have a framework that keeps you grounded.
Ask yourself:

<li>Is my original thesis still valid, and if it's not, do I have a pre-determined risk?</li>
<li>What does the data say, not my emotions?</li>
</ul>
And above all, manage your risk. You&#8217;re going to be wrong. That's guaranteed. But if you have a systematic way to protect your capital when you are, you get to survive. You get to fight another day.
The emotional battle in the markets is real. But the ones who win aren't the ones who avoid emotions—they&#8217;re the ones who understand them, and learn to act in spite of them.
