According to data from automotive research company Kelley Blue Book, Tesla sold 471,374 EVs in the U.S. through the end of the third quarter, exceeding GM&#8217;s EV sales across nearly 8 years.

For the third quarter, GM reported better-than-expected<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color/24/10/41462946/general-motors-strong-q3-earnings-impress-analysts-highlights-turnaround-and-ev-pro" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> results</a>.
GM's quarterly adjusted earnings per share of $2.96 beat the street view of $2.43. Quarterly sales of $48.757 billion also beat the analyst consensus estimate of $44.585 billion.
The company also raised 2024 adjusted EPS guidance from $9.50 – $10.50 to $10.00 – $10.50.

The critical remark came in response to Coinbase&#8217;s legal head Paul Grewal&#8217;s claims about the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) instructing banks to halt or refrain from offering cryptocurrency-banking services.
&#8220;So far we&#8217;ve uncovered more than 20 examples of the FDIC telling banks to "pause" or "refrain from providing" or "not proceed" with offering crypto-banking services. The public deserves transparency, not an agency that's working behind a bureaucratic curtain,&#8221; Grewal wrote in an X post.
The FDIC didn&#8217;t immediately return Benzinga&#8217;s request for comment.
