NVIDIA Corp (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>) investors have no shortage of reasons to continue bidding up NVDA stock. Primarily, the semiconductor stalwart — known for its advanced graphics processors that undergird artificial-intelligence-based platforms and applications — recently posted financial results for the third quarter that<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/24/11/42099904/nvidia-q3-earnings-highlights"> handily beat expectations</a>.
Management disclosed earnings per share of 81 cents, outpacing Wall Street's expectation calling for 75 cents. Notably, the tech firm beat its bottom-line target for eight straight quarters. On the top line, Nvidia rang up sales of $35.1 billion, up a whopping 94% on a year-over-year basis. This tally also exceeded the consensus view of $33.12 billion.
According to Wedbush Securities Managing Director Dan Ives, the chipmaker's results were a "jaw-dropper." Further, the market expert<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/24/11/42102642/nvidia-delivered-jaw-dropping-q3-earnings-says-dan-ives-this-is-the-fourth-revolution-playing-out-in-front-of-our-eyes"> emphasized the transformative potential</a> of the underlying AI innovation. "This is the fourth revolution playing out in front of our eyes," Ives told CNN.
Not to be left outdone, CNBC personality Jim Cramer<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/global/24/11/42129914/jim-cramer-doubles-down-on-nvidia-demand-is-accelerating-as-ai-customers-have-no-choice-but-to-buy-its-chips"> pounded the table</a> on NVDA stock. "The demand is accelerating because the payoff is so great," the analyst remarked, mentioning Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's claim that customers earn five dollars for every dollar invested in Nvidia chips.
Still, not every indicator is so glaringly positive for NVDA stock. Interestingly, when the tech giant released its Q3 report last week, the initial response wasn't exactly encouraging. Instead,<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/11/42107846/nvidia-slides-during-thursday-pre-market-despite-beating-q3-estimates-even-outstanding-isnt-enough-for-some-investors"> shares slipped</a> during the pre-market hours of the Nov. 21 session. As the company continues to bring home the goods, expectations also rise, possibly presenting challenges.
Conspicuously, on Friday, NVDA stock dropped more than 3%. During the session,<a href="https://fintel.io/sof/us/nvda"> options flow data</a> — which focuses exclusively on big block transactions likely placed by institutional or professional investors — saw a significant influx of transactions with apparently bearish implications: both long puts and short calls. This dynamic raises suspicions that some market participants are becoming skeptical about Nvidia.
The Direxion ETFs: For investors that enjoy approaching the equities arena from a tactical view, financial services provider Direxion offers two directionally opposite exchange-traded funds. Optimists in the AI narrative may consider Direxion Daily NVDA Bull 2X Shares (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDU#NASDAQ">NVDU</a>), which seeks daily investment results of 200% of the performance of NVDA stock.
Those who are pessimistic about Nvidia's rally sustaining itself may consider Direxion Daily NVDA Bear 1X Shares (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDD#NASDAQ">NVDD</a>). This ETF attempts to replicate 100% of the inverse performance of NVDA stock. To be clear, both leveraged and inverse ETFs are designed to be held for periods lasting no longer than one day. Exposure beyond this recommended period may lead to valuation erosion due to the daily compounding of leverage.
The NVDU ETF: Since the start of the year, the NVDU ETF returned traders just over 359%, highlighting the blistering results that Nvidia posted. Still, some kinks in the armor raise questions.

<li>In the trailing month, NVDU gained just over 1%, potentially revealing investor hesitation regarding the overall AI message.</li>
<li>The leveraged bull fund is comfortably above its 200-day moving average. However, the price action is narrowing toward its 50 DMA, warranting vigilance.</li>

Despite Nvidia&#8217;s significant lead in AI hardware, Amazon&#8217;s ambitions to reduce dependency on external suppliers and deliver competitive AI solutions have gained traction.
Amazon&#8217;s latest AI chip, Trainium 2, offers improved performance with four times the computational power and three times the memory of its predecessor, per the report.
Engineers have streamlined its design by reducing internal components and improving heat management. The chip is central to Amazon&#8217;s strategy of scaling its AI capabilities and offering a cost-effective alternative to Nvidia hardware.
Prominent AI startups, including Anthropic, are adopting Amazon&#8217;s Trainium chips for their workloads. Databricks intends to pass on the savings from Trainium&#8217;s use to customers, challenging Nvidia&#8217;s dominance in the AI hardware market.
Amazon faces hurdles in software development, an area where Nvidia excels. Its Neuron SDK, still in its early stages, must evolve to match the ease and flexibility Nvidia offers to AI developers.

Donald Trump&#8217;s <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/market-summary/24/11/41968003/gold-drops-to-a-two-month-low-as-investors-turn-to-bitcoin-after-trumps-victory-but-this-economist-remains-confident-that-gold-will-surge">win is positive for the financial and energy sectors</a> as the &#8220;pro-growth effects of fiscal stimulus currently outweigh the inflationary risks in the near term​​​&#8221; according to an analyst. 
What Happened: Mario Georgiou, CFA and executive director, head of investments at InCred Global Wealth U.K., in an exclusive conversation with <a href="http://pro.benzinga.com">Benzinga</a>, described tax cuts and deregulation as tailwinds to the markets. He considers inflationary policies such as tariffs and immigration impacts as headwinds, leading to a steepening yield curve, and higher term premiums.
&#8220;Financials offer an attractive risk-reward and that this recent post-election rally has room to run,&#8221; added Georgiou. According to him &#8220;financials are not only well positioned to capture the benefits of the above-mentioned Trump tailwinds, but are also less impacted / would even benefit from the Trump headwinds.&#8221;
Despite a few dips, the equity markets have been trading higher than the pre-election levels after President-elect Trump&#8217;s victory. The S&amp;P 500 has increased by 3.22%, rising from $5,782.76 on Nov. 5 to $5,969.34 as of Friday&#8217;s close. The SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SPY#NYSE">SPY</a>) which tracks the S&amp;P 500 Index has had a similar momentum, according to data from <a href="http://pro.benzinga.com">Benzinga Pro</a>.
Meanwhile, Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (ACRA: XLF), Vanguard Financials ETF (ACRA: VFH), iShares U.S. Financials ETF (ACRA: IYF), and SPDR S&amp;P Bank ETF (ACRA: KBE), have returned over 30% year-to-date in 2024 outperforming the S&amp;P 500 Index&#8217;s 26% run.

Other sectors that Georgiou prefers, include energy. According to him &#8220;deregulation supporting oil production and geopolitical risks could sustain elevated oil prices and relative valuations are attractive.&#8221;
Even though the energy sector has underperformed the broader markets in 2024, &#8220;fundamentally, companies are shareholder friendly with 8-12% shareholder yields, have strong balance sheets with low net debt to EBITDA ratios and high free cash flow yields of 6.50% and above,&#8221; he adds.
Invesco S&amp;P 500 Equal Weight ETF (ACRA: RSP), iShares Russell 1000 Value ETF (ACRA: IWD), Vanguard High Dividend Yield Index ETF (ACRA: VYM) and ProShares S&amp;P 500 Ex-Energy ETF (ACRA: SPXE) have all underperformed the S&amp;P 500 on a year-to-date basis.
Why It Matters: As markets hit their 51st record high of 2024 and the S&amp;P 500 Index crossed 6,000 points, some analysts caution that<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/24/11/42134031/markets-got-it-wrong-after-elections-prospects-of-tariffs-not-good-for-equities-vs-dollar-says-ex-goldman-sachs-analyst"> tariffs could pose risks </a>to equities and suggest that the market may be overvalued.
&#8220;The prospect of tariffs isn't obviously good for equities, while it's clearly good for the Dollar," former Goldman Sachs FX strategist and senior fellow at Brookings Institution, Robin Brooks said in an X post. "Markets initially got this wrong, driving stocks up sharply right after Nov. 5,&#8221; he added.
However, Georgiou is &#8220;cautiously optimistic&#8221; about the markets, he said &#8220;a neutral to fully invested equity allocation is warranted, with a focus on sectors benefiting from Trump's policies, whilst always maintaining our core investment principles, which is a focus on fundamentals, quality, and risk management.&#8221;

What Happened: A <a href="https://www.wsj.com/politics/elections/tim-cook-ceo-trump-relationship-ad106f36">report</a> by The Wall Street Journal highlights how Cook navigated Trump's administration with a direct, focused strategy.
Cook often bypassed lobbyists and government relations executives, opting instead for one-on-one meetings and phone calls with Trump.
He would focus on singular, data-driven points in discussions to influence policy in Apple's favor.
This approach reportedly helped Apple avoid some of the harsher impacts of Trump's trade tariffs in 2019 and positioned the company to benefit from the administration's 2017 tax reforms.

Cook also strategically aligned Apple's interests with Trump's agenda, ensuring mutual benefits. For instance, he didn't refute Trump's claim of credit for an Austin manufacturing plant that was neither new nor owned by Apple.
The report noted that doing so allowed Trump to appear successful while maintaining Apple's goodwill.
Leaders of other major companies, including Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOG#NASDAQ">GOOG</a>) (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOGL#NASDAQ">GOOGL</a>) CEO Sundar Pichai and Meta Platforms, Inc.'s (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/META#NASDAQ">META</a>) Mark Zuckerberg are reportedly employing similar strategies.
According to the report, executives from Boeing Co. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BA#NYSE">BA</a>) and FedEx Corp. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/FDX#NYSE">FDX</a>) have also attempted direct communication with Trump.
Meanwhile, some have reportedly explored leveraging connections through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a role Trump assigned to Elon Musk after the Tesla Inc. CEO&#8217;s <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/11/42157649/trumps-doge-co-lead-elon-musk-slams-lockheed-martins-f-35-fighter-jets-advocates-drone-warfare-as-pentagon-defends-1-8-trillion-program">vocal support for his campaign</a>.

(NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>), Tesla Inc. In the September quarter, Lutnick&#8217;s financial services firm purchased about 1.17 million shares of Tesla with 1.74 million put options in Q3. It bumped up its call options by 4,967% to 152,000 shares from the <a href="https://13f.info/13f/000092963824003880/compare/000092963824002803">quarter-ended in July</a>. The total value of the fund&#8217;s exposure to Tesla stood at $804 million in Q3.
Cantor Fitzgerald also increased its position in Nvidia by 7,015%, <a href="https://13f.info/13f/000092963824003880/compare/000092963824002803">compared to the second quarter</a>, with a total holding of 3.56 million shares in Q3. It increased Nvidia puts in Q3 by 1,268% to 5.46 million shares and Nvidia call options by 3,213% to 778,600 shares. The total exposure to Nvidia in value terms stood at $1.192 billion.
The fund had 1.23 million of put options and 600,000 call options on SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF TR representing a total value of $1.05 billion in Q3. GCM Grosvenor and Rumble reflected 2.1% and 1.2% of the fund&#8217;s total holdings, valued at $73.03 million and $42.04 million, respectively.

However, Bessent was appointed the Treasury Secretary. According to <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/regulations/24/11/41909846/trumps-treasury-pick-frontrunner-scott-bessent-could-shift-wall-street-crypto" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">betting markets</a>, Bessent was a frontrunner with an 82% probability of securing the nomination.
The third-quarter 13F filing from Bessent's Key Square Group fund shows that they have liquidated all their holding in the September quarter.
In the <a href="https://13f.info/13f/000117266124003417-key-square-capital-management-llc-q2-2024" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">second quarter</a>, the fund had a highly concentrated portfolio, with equal investments in two banking-focused ETFs: the SPDR S&amp;P Regional Banking ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/KRE#NYSE">KRE</a>) and the SPDR S&amp;P Bank ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/KBE#NYSE">KBE</a>), each making up 50% of the fund.
