Gerber contends that if Trump desires lower interest rates, he should steer clear of inflation-driving policies like the inflationary tariff approach and the "One Big, Beautiful Bill," which will likely increase the fiscal deficit and national debt.

Louis Navellier of Navellier &amp; Associates said that tariff negotiations with China were &#8220;hitting an impasse,&#8221; thus he added &#8220;a call between President Xi Jinping and President Trump may be imminent.&#8221;
Contrary to Gerber&#8217;s view, Navellier said that &#8220;The Fed has said inflation is its main priority, but a weak payroll report could cause the Fed to key interest rates sooner rather than later.&#8221;
Meanwhile, Adam Turnquist, the chief technical strategist at LPL Financial, <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/25/06/45787192/nasdaq-100s-premium-valuation-is-easier-to-digest-as-growth-optimism-surges-for-2026-momentum-remains-bullish">hinted in his technical analysis</a> that it was "easier to digest" the Nasdaq 100 index's premium valuation given the growth optimism for 2025 and 2026.

From a technical perspective, Turnquist suggests that the index's "Momentum remains bullish after the recent reset from overbought levels." The Nasdaq 100 has rallied out of a bear market in less than two months.

A new study finds that President Donald Trump's tariff policies are landing hardest on the nation's poorest households, with the bottom income decile bearing the brunt of the economic fallout.
What Happened: On Sunday, Yale University&#8217;s The Budget Lab, a non-partisan policy research center, unveiled <a href="https://budgetlab.yale.edu/research/state-us-tariffs-june-1-2025">its</a> report titled &#8220;State of U.S. Tariffs,&#8221; assessing the impact of Trump&#8217;s &#8220;Liberation Day&#8221; tariffs across American households and industry. 
The report, which analyzes all U.S. tariffs and foreign retaliation measures implemented through June 1, calculates short-run consumer losses before households shift their spending habits, as they often do in response to shifting market and price dynamics.

However, even after the substitution effect kicks in, the study finds a lasting impact on household purchasing power, with consumer prices up 1.3%, and the average American family facing $2,200 in additional annual expenses.
&#8220;Tariffs are functionally a regressive tax,&#8221; the report states, as its findings point to a steep gradient in burden across income brackets. This means that lower-income households are losing a much bigger share of their income to higher prices than those in the higher brackets.
While the second decile also faces a severe reduction in disposable income, wealthier households are far less affected. The top 10% of earners see only a 1% hit, or about $5,000, but as a share of income, the impact is relatively modest.
Clothing, shoes, and vehicle prices have seen the sharpest increases so far, according to the report. Footwear is up 31%, and new vehicle costs have climbed by over $6,000 on average. 
The Yale team has modeled these effects under a &#8220;policy in perpetuity&#8221; assumption, meaning all 2025 tariffs are assumed to remain indefinitely, even those officially labeled temporary.
Beyond households, the macro impacts are mounting, with the report estimating that U.S. GDP will shrink by 0.5 percentage points in 2025, and job losses are expected to reach 376,000 by the end of this year.

As the Nasdaq 100 index is nearly 2% away from its all-time high, analysis suggests that it&#8217;s &#8220;easier to digest&#8221; the index&#8217;s premium valuation given the growth optimism for 2025 and 2026.
What Happened: According to Adam Turnquist, the chief technical strategist at LPL Financial, the Nasdaq 100&#8217;s forward 12-month price-to-earnings ratio at 26.6 was above its 10-year average P/E of 22.0.
&#8220;However, a jump in expected operating margins from 18.0% in 2024 to 23.8% in 2025 and 25.6% in 2026 makes the premium valuation easier to digest (along with the AI-themed tailwinds),&#8221; explained Turnquist.
Apart from this, he highlights that the buying pressure on the index was also &#8220;widespread,&#8221; as only eight stocks are lower since the April 8th low, while the average gain for the rest of the index has been about 25% in the same period. 
From a technical perspective, Turnquist suggests that the index&#8217;s &#8220;Momentum remains bullish after the recent reset from overbought levels.&#8221; The Nasdaq 100 has rallied out of a bear market in less than two months.
This recovery was a result of the administration's pivot to delay reciprocal tariffs in April, progress in trade negotiations, and strong tech earnings, which revealed no signs of a slowdown in artificial intelligence demand or related capital expenditure spending.
&#8220;The NDX vs. S&amp;P 500 ratio chart recently bounced off support and recaptured the 50-/200-dmas. A breakout above the July 2024 highs would indicate a new uptrend is developing, favoring NDX leadership ahead,&#8221; said Turnquist.

Its relative strength index at 58.97 was in the neutral territory, whereas its MACD line of 3.90 was above the signal line, suggesting that its 12-day exponential moving average was above its 26-day EMA.
These technical indicators signaled a largely bullish trend for QQQ.
