Billionaire and Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) CEO Elon Musk thinks humanoid robots would require a lot of power to function as the EV giant further develops its Optimus line of humanoid robots.
What Happened: Replying to a post by Tesla influencer Sawyer Merritt, which outlined a note by Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jones, Musk shared his thoughts on Tuesday.
The post shared a prediction by Jones that stated that the required amount of power for one billion humanoid robots to carry out physical tasks, not counting training, would be over 4,000 TWh, which was "roughly equal to 1 full US electric grid," the post said.
Musk then shared his thoughts on the prediction. "Way more," the billionaire said in the post.

Elon Musk Weighs In On How Much Power Humanoid Robots Would Require Amid Tesla's Optimus Push

Algonquin Power &amp; Utilities Corp. Vera Therapeutics, Inc. ("Vera"), a late clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing and commercializing transformative treatments for patients with serious immunological diseases, today announced that it has entered into a new credit facility providing for up to $500 million of term loans with its current partner Oxford Finance LLC ("Oxford"). The new credit facility will replace Vera's existing $50 million credit facility. The initial funding of the new credit facility will be in a principal amount of $75 million and is expected to occur on June 4, 2025.
Highlights of the new credit facility include:
<ul>
<li>Lowered Interest Rate:&nbsp;Reduced borrowing cost by 320 basis points based on current interest rates. The facility will mature five years from the closing date. Interest will be paid monthly at a rate per annum equal to 1-month SOFR plus 4.95%, subject to a SOFR floor of 3.75%.</li>
<li>Increased Capital Availability:&nbsp;Added $450 million of discretionary incremental capacity available in five tranches. At its discretion, Vera may draw up to $50 million from January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026, not subject&nbsp;to&nbsp;additional performance milestones. Vera has the option to draw $75 million upon accelerated approval of atacicept in immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN), two $50 million tranches post accelerated approval and subject to commercial milestones, and up to $200 million at the mutual discretion of Vera and Oxford.</li>
<li>Improved Structure &amp; Financial Flexibility:&nbsp;Extended the interest only period by up to 42 months and maturity by up to 41 months.&nbsp;As a result of this refinancing, Vera will no longer be required to make principal payments in 2026. The new facility also reduced prepayment and final-payment fees and, combined with the reduced interest rate, results in a cost-effective refinancing that significantly lowers Vera's cost of capital. &nbsp;</li>

Why Credo Technology Group Shares Are Trading Higher By Over 14%; Here Are 20 Stocks Moving Premarket

On Monday, June 2, U.S. markets closed higher as optimism over trade talks persisted despite Trump&#8217;s plan to double steel and aluminum tariffs. China called his accusations &#8220;groundless.&#8221; Steel stocks surged while automakers fell. Nvidia and Meta gained; Tesla slipped. Manufacturing contracted for a third month. Traders anticipate Fed rate cuts, with key jobs data due Friday.
According to economic data, U.S. manufacturing activity slipped in May, with ISM PMI falling to 48.5, which is below forecasts. Construction spending also dropped 0.4% in April after a 0.8% decline in March.
Most S&amp;P 500 sectors rose Monday, led by energy, communication services, and tech. Industrials, however, ended the day in the red.
The Dow closed higher by 0.08% at 42,305.48, the S&amp;P 500 gained 0.41% to 5,935.94, and the Nasdaq rose 0.67% to 19,242.61.

On Tuesday, Japan&#8217;s Nikkei 225 closed 0.05% lower at 37,453.50, led by losses in the Paper &amp; Pulp, Transport, and Communication sectors.

PDD Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/PDD#NASDAQ">PDD</a>) faces mounting challenges as its Temu platform struggles with significant user losses following major U.S. trade policy shifts that eliminated key cost advantages for Chinese e-commerce platforms.
What Happened: Daily U.S. users of Temu fell 58% in May, according to market intelligence firm Sensor Tower, reported Reuters. The decline followed the White House&#8217;s May 2 decision to end the &#8220;de minimis&#8221; provision, which previously allowed Chinese companies to ship packages valued under $800 to the U.S. tariff-free.
Temu responded by slashing U.S. advertising spending and shifting its fulfillment strategy. The platform now displays only products shipped from U.S.-based warehouses, with China-shipped items labeled &#8220;out of stock.&#8221; 
Previously, Temu operated by giving merchants responsibility for ordering and supplying products while managing logistics, pricing and marketing from China.
PDD&#8217;s <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/25/05/45616623/temu-parent-pdd-does-not-mention-tariffs-impact-blames-external-environment-and-ecosystem-investments-for-profit-plunge">first-quarter earnings reflected</a> these pressures. Revenue grew just 10% year-over-year to $13.18 billion, missing analyst estimates of $14.17 billion. Adjusted operating profit declined 36% to $2.52 billion, with margins falling from 32.9% to 19.1%.

Why It Matters: The tariff changes fundamentally disrupted Temu&#8217;s business model, which relied on direct shipments from Chinese suppliers to maintain ultra-low prices. 
The new regime imposes <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/regulations/25/05/45189952/amazon-rival-pdd-holdings-temu-halts-china-to-us-shipments-amid-trumps-145-tariffs-actively-recruiting-us-sellers">90% duties or $75 per item on Chinese imports</a>, scheduled to increase to $150 per item by June. While competitor Shein has managed to increase per-customer spending despite similar challenges, Temu has struggled to adapt.
Price Action: PDD stock closed at $96.44 on Monday, down 0.07%. In pre-market trading on Tuesday, the stock rose 0.62% to $97.04. Year to date, PDD shares are down 0.46%.
