<p><strong>Tower Semiconductor Ltd </strong>(NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSEM#NASDAQ">TSEM</a>)<strong> </strong>tanked in trading on Thursday, after the company reported <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/24/11/41940062/tower-semiconductor-q3-earnings-revenue-and-profit-beat-plans-350-million-expansion">upbeat third-quarter results</a>.</p>
<p>The company reported strong results and announced higher-than-expected guidance on "aggressive AI-levered demand," according to Benchmark.<strong></strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-stock-ratings/analyst/5e2ae9e3430dee0001c80e0c/cody-acree">Analyst Cody Acree</a> reiterated a Buy rating on Tower Semiconductor while raising the price target from $55 to $60.</p>
<p><strong>The Tower Semiconductor </strong><strong>Thesis: </strong>The company reported sales of $371 million and earnings of 57 cents per share, higher than consensus of $370 million and 53 cents per share, respectively, Acree said in the note. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Tower Semiconductor announced its December quarter revenues about $9 million higher than consensus on robust demand from "its broader RF (Radio Frequency) business, which includes both RF Mobile, RF SOI switches for the smartphone market, and RF Infrastructure demand for Data Center connectivity applications," the analyst stated.</p>
<p>"With solid customer demand increasing for its SiGe and SiPho products for optical transceivers servicing AI Data Center applications, Tower is undertaking a new $350 million capacity expansion initiative, where it is planning to invest in multiple existing factories to significantly increase its ability to meet rapidly increasing customer forecasts," he further wrote.</p>
<p><strong>TSEM Price Action:</strong> Shares of Tower Semiconductor had declined by 4.81% to $46.09 at the time of publication on Thursday.</p>

Tower Semiconductor Analyst Raises Forecast On 'Aggressive AI-Levered Demand'

<p><strong>Cisco Systems, Inc.</strong> (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/CSCO#NASDAQ">CSCO</a>) shares are trading lower Thursday following the release of the networking equipment company&#8217;s first-quarter fiscal 2025 results. Here&#8217;s <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/24/11/41955614/cisco-q1-earnings-revenue-beat-eps-beat-strong-start-to-year-customers-investing-in-ai-and-more">what you need to know.</a></p>
<p><strong>What To Know:</strong> Cisco reported revenue of $13.84 billion for the quarter, beating analyst estimates of $13.77 billion. Adjusted earnings per share came in at 91 cents, exceeding the expected 87 cents per share, according to <a href="https://pro.benzinga.com/dashboard">Benzinga Pro</a>. This marks the tenth consecutive quarter that Cisco has topped estimates for revenue and earnings.</p>
<p>Although Cisco beat analyst expectations, total revenue fell 6% year-over-year as product revenue declined 9%, and services revenue increased 6%. The company generated $3.7 billion in cash flow from operations, a 54% increase compared to the same quarter last year, and ended the period with $18.7 billion in cash and investments.</p>
<p>Looking ahead, Cisco anticipates fiscal second-quarter revenue between $13.75 billion and $13.95 billion, and adjusted earnings per share in the range of 89 cents to 91 cents. The company projects full-year 2025 revenue between $55.3 billion and $56.3 billion, and full-year adjusted earnings between $3.60 and $3.66 per share.</p>
<p>"Cisco is off to a strong start to fiscal 2025. Our customers are investing in critical infrastructure to prepare for AI, and with the breadth of our portfolio, we are uniquely positioned to capitalize on this opportunity," said <strong>Chuck Robbins</strong>, chair and CEO of Cisco.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.barrons.com/market-data/stocks/c?mod=article_chiclet">Citigroup</a> is being investigated by several U.S. agencies for the work it has done for a trust that holds the assets of Suleiman Abusaidovich Kerimov, a Russian official sanctioned by the U.S. government, as federal officials continue to scrutinize how Russia's oligarchs store and access their assets abroad.</p>
<p>The Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Internal Revenue Service have been investigating the matter for more than a year, a person with knowledge of the situation said.</p>
<p>The probe centers on <a href="https://www.barrons.com/market-data/stocks/c?mod=article_chiclet">Citigroup</a></p>

<p>providing services to Heritage Trust, which held the assets of <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/u-s-targets-russian-oligarchs-in-new-sanctions-1523018826?mod=article_inline">Kerimov</a>, an ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin who made his fortune in the Russian gold mining industry. The U.S. government has <a href="https://home.treasury.gov/news/press-releases/jy0841">said</a> the trust was formed seven years ago to hold and manage Kerimov's U.S.-based assets.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The probe also focuses on Citi's financial compliance framework, such as the anti-money-laundering and client-vetting processes designed to prevent financial crimes. While Citi's trust business still has the Heritage Trust account on its books, the bank cannot administer it as a typical trust—by distributing or accepting funds—while it is blocked by the Treasury Department.</p>
<p>"Citi is committed to conducting all business with the highest consideration for compliance with all applicable laws and regulations," the Citi spokesperson said in a statement to <i>Barron's</i>. "At the same time, we are actively ending nearly all of our institutional banking business in Russia, except for those operations necessary to fulfill remaining legal and regulatory obligations, while we proceed with the closing of our Russian consumer banking business."</p>
<p>Kerimov and his representatives were unable to be reached by <i>Barron's</i>. The Justice Department declined to comment. The IRS and FBI didn't provide comment. Clifford Chance, the law firm Citi hired as outside counsel, declined to comment.</p>
<p>Kerimov is the world's 293rd-richest person, according to the 500-person <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/billionaires/profiles/suleiman-a-kerimov/">Bloomberg Billionaires Index</a>, with a net worth of nearly $10 billion. The U.S. said it <a href="https://home.treasury.gov/news/press-releases/sm0338">imposed sanctions</a> on Kerimov in 2018 for being an official of the Government of the Russian Federation. Kerimov was also sanctioned by the European Union, Japan, and other countries.</p>
<p>Two years ago the Treasury Department <a href="https://home.treasury.gov/news/press-releases/jy0841">blocked</a> Kerimov from accessing Heritage Trust, which held $1 billion as of June 2022, as part of an investigation into the oligarch's "use of a network of relatives, advisors, and opaque legal entities to invest in the United States." That year, the Justice Department ordered the <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/300-million-yacht-sanctioned-russian-oligarch-suleiman-kerimov-seized-fiji-request-united">seizure</a> of a superyacht that it alleged was owned by Kerimov and subject to forfeiture over probable cause of U.S. law violations, including money laundering and conspiracy.</p>
<p>Citi offers trust and wealth planning services to rich clients through its private bank, which is part of the wealth management division. The bank is in the process of <a href="https://www.barrons.com/articles/citigroup-sale-trust-unit-jtc-0bbf04e1?mod=article_inline">selling its trust unit</a> to JTC, a firm based on the English Channel island of Jersey that has expanded in the U.S. through acquisitions, for $80 million. Citi's wealth arm manages $580 billion of investment assets. JTC declined to comment.</p>
<p>Citi is facing federal scrutiny over issues with its internal controls. The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Federal Reserve <a href="https://www.barrons.com/articles/bank-regulators-fine-citi-e3b08ee6?mod=article_inline">fined Citi in July</a> after the regulators found the bank hadn't made enough progress in remedying four-year-old consent orders tied to insufficient risk management oversight.</p>
<p>Chief Executive Officer Jane Fraser said in July that "despite making good progress in simplifying our firm" and addressing the consent orders, "there are areas where we have not made progress quickly enough, such as in our data quality management." The bank has "intensified our focus and increased our investment in those areas over the last several months," she said.</p>
<p>Under Fraser, who has led the fourth-largest U.S. lender since March 2021, Citi is aiming to engineer a turnaround after years of problems with financial regulators, poor returns, and high-profile missteps.</p>
<p>Until the Treasury Department prevented Kerimov from accessing Heritage Trust in 2022, Kerimov used "a complex series of legal structures to continue to retain an interest in, and benefit from, his over $1 billion in assets in the United States," said Andrea Gacki, director of the Treasury's Financial Crimes Enforcement bureau, in a <a href="https://www.fincen.gov/news/speeches/prepared-remarks-fincen-director-andrea-gacki-during-beneficial-ownership-1">speech</a> this past August.</p>
<p>"These funds were invested in large public and private U.S. companies and managed by a series of U.S. investment firms and facilitators," Gacki said. "Along the way, Kerimov and his proxies used various layers of shell companies, including [limited liability companies], to conceal his interest."</p>
<p>The probe of the bank and Kerimov comes as the U.S. government continues to <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/prosecutors-targeting-russian-oligarchs-shift-focus-to-service-providers-that-support-them-11669767556?mod=article_inline">investigate the ecosystem of service providers</a>, including financial firms, that the government alleges enable Russian oligarchs to move their money and evade sanctions. In March 2022, following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the Justice Department formed a task force with other U.S. agencies, including the FBI and the IRS, to enforce sanctions and take action against Russian oligarchs.</p>
