Procter & Gamble Earnings Are Imminent; These Most Accurate Analysts Revise Forecasts Ahead Of Earnings Call

Philip Morris International Inc. (PMI) has been informed by its deconsolidated Canadian affiliate, Rothmans,Benson &amp; Hedges Inc. (RBH), that the court-appointed mediator and monitor in RBH's Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA) proceeding filed a proposed plan of compromise and arrangement (Proposed Plan) outlining certain terms of a comprehensive resolution of tobacco product-related claims and litigation in Canada against RBH and its affiliates. The court-appointed mediator and monitors also filed substantially similar proposed plans for Imperial Tobacco Canada Limited and Imperial Tobacco Company Limited (together, ITL) and JTI-Macdonald Corp. (JTIM).
Under the Proposed Plan, if ultimately approved and implemented, RBH, ITL and JTIM (the Companies) would pay an aggregate settlement amount of CAD 32.5 billion (approximately USD 23.5 billion). This amount would be funded by an upfront payment equal to the Companies' cash and cash equivalents on hand in Canada plus certain court deposits (subject to an aggregate withholding of CAD 750 million (approximately USD 540 million) for working capital inclusive of cash pledged as collateral) and annual payments based on a percentage of the Companies' net income after taxes (excluding that generated by certain non-combustible products including heat-not-burn, e-vapor and nicotine pouch products) until the aggregate settlement amount is paid. As stated in the Proposed Plan, the issue of allocation of the CAD 32.5 billion aggregate settlement as between the Companies in the CCAA proceedings remains unresolved.
"After years of mediation, we welcome this important step towards the resolution of long-pending tobacco product-related litigation in Canada," said Jacek Olczak, Chief Executive Officer of PMI. "Although important issues with the plan remain to be resolved, we are hopeful that this legal process will soon conclude, allowing RBH and its stakeholders to focus on the future."

What Happened: Waymo will credit $3 to riders&#8217; accounts if they take an autonomous ride to or from eligible Bay Area transit stations. These credits can be used for future rides.
The program started on Oct. 17 and will go on till Nov.15. The credits can be used until Dec. 31, according to a statement from Waymo. 
&#8220;By offering electric rides on demand and improving access to public transit, Waymo One is making daily travel more sustainable and convenient,&#8221; said Adam Lenz, Head of Sustainability and Environment at Waymo.

Today's Biggest Pre-Market Stock Movers: 10 Top Gainers and Losers on Friday

Motus GI&nbsp;(NASDAQ:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/mots-stock-quote/">MOTS</a>) stock is falling on Friday following a warning that the medical technology company is in danger of being delisted.



Motus GI <a href="https://app.quotemedia.com/data/downloadFiling?webmasterId=90423&amp;ref=318230488&amp;type=PDF&amp;symbol=MOTS&amp;cdn=84b00af3974179838345280e52876622&amp;companyName=Motus+GI+Holdings+Inc.&amp;formType=8-K&amp;formDescription=Current+report+pursuant+to+Section+13+or+15%28d%29&amp;dateFiled=2024-04-11">got a delisting notice</a> from the Listing Qualifications Staff of the Nasdaq Exchange on April 5. In that notice, the company was warned about a potential delisting due to its low shares price.



Shares of MOTS stock have been trading for less than $1 each for over 30 business days. That has the company not complying with the minimum bid to remain listed on the exchange.



On that same note, Motus GI has enacted reverse stock splits with a ratio of 250 shares or more to one over the last year. That makes it ineligible for a compliance period to regain the $1 minimum bid.



<h2>What This Means for MOTS Stock</h2>



Motus GI has until today to request a hearing with the Nasdaq Exchange to try and avoid delisting. However, the company doesn&rsquo;t believe it can regain compliance and is choosing not to seek a hearing.



As a result, shares of MOTS stock will stop trading on the Nasdaq Exchange when markets open on Tuesday. This will result in its shares switching over to the OTC Pink Market of the OTCMarkets. It intends to apply for listing on the OTCQB.



Finally, Motus GI says it is exploring a range of strategic options. Its doing so to maximize shareholder value while speeding up the commercialization of its Pure-Vu System.



MOTS stock is down 37.1% as of Friday morning.

Applied Digital&nbsp;(NASDAQ:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/apld-stock-quote/">APLD</a>) stock is falling on Friday following the release of the data center company&rsquo;s earnings report for its fiscal third quarter of 2024.



The bad news for APLD stockholders starts with the company&rsquo;s <a href="https://finance.yahoo.com/news/applied-digital-reports-fiscal-third-200500599.html">adjusted earnings per share of -24 cents</a>. That&rsquo;s much worse than the -7 cents per share that Wall Street was expecting. It&rsquo;s also a significant setback compared to the -1 cent per share from the same period of the year prior.



Also not helping matters is Applied Digital&rsquo;s revenue of $43.35 million in fiscal Q3 2024. That&rsquo;s another miss next to analysts&rsquo; revenue estimate of $51.92 million. This is despite it increasing 208% year-over-year from $14.09 million.



Wes Cummins, chairman and CEO of Applied Digital, said this in the earnings report.




&ldquo;During the quarter, Applied Digital encountered several challenges that impacted our financial performance due to facility power outages in our datacenter hosting business. Despite these short-term setbacks, we made significant progress with our key growth initiatives in the development of our Cloud Services business and the establishment of our special purpose built 100 MW HPC datacenter in Ellendale.&rdquo;




<h2>APLD Stock Movement Today</h2>



Investors aren&rsquo;t happy about these latest earnings results from Applied Digital. That has shares of APLD stock falling 5.5% as of Friday morning. That builds on a 55.9% decrease year-to-date as of Thursday&rsquo;s close.



With today&rsquo;s drop in price comes roughly 216,000 shares of APLD stock changing hands. That&rsquo;s well below its daily average trading volume of about 3.5 million shares.

NextPlat (NASDAQ:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/nxpl-stock-quote/">NXPL</a>) stock is up on Friday after the mobile satellite services company proposed a merger with its <a href="https://finance.yahoo.com/news/nextplat-announces-proposed-business-combination-124100049.html">majority-owned subsidiary</a> Progressive Care (OTCQB:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/rxmd-stock-quote/">RXMD</a>).



NextPlat will use a wholly-owned subsidiary to combine with Progressive Care, which will result in it surviving the merger but switching to the Progressive Care name. The deal will see RXMD shareholders issued new shares of NXPL stock. The ratio values RXMD at $2.20 each.



NextPlat&nbsp;executive chairman and CEO Charles Fernandez said the following about the merger plan.




&ldquo;As a result of this business combination, we expect to quickly realize an array of valuable synergies from additional top-line growth to improved bottom-line profitability. These benefits include the ability to expand Progressive Care&rsquo;s consumer offerings with new OTC products such as our soon-to-be-launched Florida Sunshine brand of premium-grade vitamins and dietary supplements, and significant combined annual cost reductions resulting from the elimination of complexities and redundant public company legal and accounting expenses.&rdquo;




<h2>Details of the NXPL Stock Merger</h2>



Investors will note that the support has the approval from both companies&rsquo; Boards of Directors. It&rsquo;s also worth mentioning that NextPlat executives and Board members own a combined 53% stake in Progressive Care.



NextPlat now just needs approval from regulators to move forward with its combination with Progressive Care. This has it expecting the merger to close in the third quarter of 2024.



NXPL stock is up 33.8% on Friday with more than 35 million shares traded. That&rsquo;s well above its daily average trading volume of about 12,700 shares.
