I've spent my 30-plus-year career discovering some of the most obscure and lucrative patterns in the world.
Now, you might've heard the term before—or even tried trading patterns yourself.
But almost every trader I meet seems a bit confused about what pattern trading really is.
It's probably a whole different ball game than what you're used to. And a whole lot more profitable.
So today, I want to tell you a little bit more about what I do. Here's what pattern trading is and my favorite pattern trade this summer.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What I Mean When I Say "Pattern Trading"</h2>
When most folks hear that I'm a pattern trader, they usually think of chart patterns – the ones with goofy names that remind you of real-world objects.
Like the "cup and handle," which usually signals a continuation of a bullish uptrend.

Or the "head and shoulders." Three sharp peaks, with the middle peak usually higher than the preceding and subsequent peaks. This pattern can signal a bearish downtrend.

Or the "flag." Shaped like a sloping rectangle, a flag can signal a reversal of the current trend when and if the stock breaks out in the opposite direction of the trendlines.

Now, I don't mean to sound dismissive; these kinds of patterns aren't useless. They can help you predict how a given stock may behave at a given point in time. Emphasis on the word "help."
Like any indicator, you can't just trade these patterns whenever you see them. They function best as an additional tool to confirm a potentially profitable setup.
But here's the thing…I'm a pattern trader because I believe it gives me an edge in the markets.
These kinds of chart patterns are observed by millions of traders around the world every single day. You don't need a Bloomberg terminal or expensive charting software to see them.
Anyone can go to Yahoo Finance, pull up a stock chart, spot an "ascending triangle" or a "rounding bottom," and make their move.
That's not what I'd call an edge.
So I want to be clear: when I talk about being a pattern trader, I'm talking about trading patterns that no one else can see.
Patterns are in all walks of life. Where and how people sleep, drive, eat, save, spend – and invest – there's a pattern behind it.
And when it comes to trading, I'm not talking about overall seasonal patterns everyone knows about, like Sell in May and Go Away. I'm talking about patterns that occur in the best 370 stocks in the market every day the markets are open.
We don't know WHY these patterns occur. We just know that they do – repeating year after year at a 90% clip – and that they can be incredibly profitable. But to understand the right way to trade them, you need to know which ones to trade.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Five Primary Trading Styles</h2>
There are five primary styles of analysis I use to determine the right security to trade:
<ol start="1" class="wp-block-list">
<li>Seasonal</li>
<li>Trend</li>
<li>Contrarian</li>
<li>Volatility</li>
<li>Statistical</li>
</ol>
The first is the one I want to explore today. Although my method for spotting and scanning this type can be complex, the pattern itself is simple to understand. And it starts with understanding seasonal analysis.
To me, seasonal analysis is the process of researching a security's price patterns to spot consistent, repeatable and predictable behaviors over a period of time. When I say ‘seasonal,' I'm not referring to back-to-school or tax time. I'm also not talking about the holidays or actual seasons, like fall or spring, although there are profitable patterns out there (we'll explore those in the future).
What I'm basically looking for is the best day to buy and sell certain stocks.
To do that, there are three questions that I set out to answer and have used for many years in my trading:
<ol start="1" class="wp-block-list">
<li>Are there specific stocks or exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that have repeatable price patterns?</li>
<li>Is there a security that trades in a particular manner every year – regardless of the time of year?</li>
<li>Does the security trade higher or lower over specific date ranges or numbered trading days?</li>
</ol>
To get the best results, I look at the past ten years' worth of data on those securities to see the type of success rates (as a percentage) they've had. I also look at the average price move for each security in which I've spotted a repeatable pattern.
What I've discovered over many years of research is this: There are securities that trade in a consistent price pattern, higher or lower, at various times of the year and multiple times over the year. And, before scans really existed, I took these patterns and charted them on a simple calendar tool – the Money Calendar
The Money Calendar is my proprietary software that I use to find seasonal patterns – these repeatable price moves over specific periods of time. It scans millions of data points to find the stocks and ETFs that have moved higher or lower from the start date (the open price of one date) to the end date (the closing price of a later date).
In the early days, I would manually add stocks to the calendar that I found with the best buy and sell dates. But now, I've got built-in artificial intelligence that constantly scans, adds, and adjusts the best days to buy and sell.
To see the list of qualifying stocks with bullish or bearish patterns, I need only to click on a day. Then, I can see every stock The Money Calendar identified, along with the start and end dates.
Here's an example.
Adobe Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ADBE#NASDAQ">ADBE</a>), the software giant considered a leader in Artificial Intelligence, recently popped up on my Money Calendar.
Because for the last 10 years ADBE stock has gone up an average of $49.96 every year over a 58-day time frame, between the end of May and late August:

Q1 2025: Stable in the Face of Market Softness
Pyxis Tankers' Q1 2025 results reflected softer charter rates across both product tanker and dry bulk markets. Net revenues fell to $9.6 million from $11.8 million, with net income down to $0.8 million from $3.6 million. Adjusted EBITDA dropped to $3.5 million, and EPS came in at $0.07 versus $0.30 in Q1 2024.Weaker MR tanker rates drove the decline, with average TCE at $23,593/day, down from $31,790, though still 7% higher than Q4 2024. Dry bulk TCEs averaged $13,013/day, down 23.2% year-over-year but up 12% sequentially. Despite the headwinds, Pyxis secured solid Q2 coverage: all MR tanker days are booked at ~$21,600/day, and 62% of dry bulk days are fixed at $12,300/day.
Diversification Strategy
Mr. Valentis discussed Pyxis strategic diversification into the dry bulk sector. Since late 2023, the company, previously a tanker pure play, has expanded into dry bulk with the acquisition of one Ultramax and two Kamsarmaxes, including two via joint ventures. This added exposure allows Pyxis to manage market cyclicality by balancing downturns in one sector with upswings in another. He also defended the quality of Chinese-built vessels, asserting their competitiveness when supported by seasoned operational oversight.
Expansion Plans &amp; Financial Flexibility
Positioned for growth, Pyxis holds $41.5 million in liquidity and has secured a new $45 million loan facility effective June 2025. This "hunting license" provides the company with financial flexibility to pursue attractive, eco-efficient vessel acquisitions over the next 18 months across both the product tanker (45,000-115,000 dwt) and dry bulk (60,000-85,000 dwt) segments. Mr. Valentis emphasized that Pyxis will act only when opportunities are accretive and well-timed. He pointed to upcoming IMO regulations as a catalyst for fleet renewal and cost competitiveness.
Market Outlook: Challenging Environment
The product tanker market continues to benefit from geopolitical disruptions such as Red Sea re-routes, Russian sanctions, and the EU's blacklisting of non-compliant vessels. However, Mr. Valentis noted several headwinds, including an expanding MR orderbook as of May 1, 2025, at 17% of the fleet, uncertain Chinese demand in the dry bulk segment, persistent geopolitical volatility from the Middle East to the Russia-Ukraine conflict and shifting trade policies. He also added that 17.2% of the global MR fleet is over 20 years old, representing potential scrapping candidates that could support market balance moving forward.
Closing the Valuation Gap &amp; Shareholder Alignment
Mr. Valentis candidly addressed the company's valuation gap, pointing to a Price-to-NAV ratio of just 26%. He called on the investor community to recognize the intrinsic value of lean, efficiently operated maritime companies like Pyxis. With insider ownership at 58%, management's interests are strongly aligned with those of shareholders. As of May 2025, the company has 10.5 million shares outstanding, following the full redemption of its Series A Preferred Stock and the completion of a $3 million share repurchase program in 2024. These actions significantly reduced potential dilution and reinforced Pyxis' long-term commitment to shareholder value.
Vision for the Future
Closing the interview, the CEO underscored Pyxis vision to remain lean, opportunistic, and highly efficient. He emphasized that quality leadership -not scale- is what drives performance. "We operate with the same, if not greater, efficiency than many of our larger peers," he said, highlighting the company's low-cost structure and reputation with charterers. In a turbulent maritime environment, Pyxis Tankers is steering a steady course cautiously expanding, remaining financially agile, and reinforcing long-term value for its stakeholders.

'Musk Lobbies Washington to Clear Way for Self-Driving Cars' - Bloomberg News

Canary Capital Group LLC is looking to introduce a new level of accessibility and framework to <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/crypto">crypto investing</a> by means of a recently submitted S-1 registration statement to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The resulting product, the Canary Staked CRO ETF, seeks to give investors access to the native token of Crypto.com, Cronos (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/">CRO</a>), without having to directly hold or oversee the digital asset.
The ETF is constructed to replicate the market price of CRO, minus fund expenses, and adds a second stream of income-generating activity through staking some of its assets on the Cronos proof-of-stake blockchain. The staking process, usual in blockchain networks rewarding validators for securing the network, enables the fund to receive incremental rewards in CRO in addition to price appreciation, if any.
In order to calculate its daily net asset value (NAV), <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/etfs">the fund</a> will use a benchmark pricing approach that averages CRO prices from various crypto exchanges. The aim is to present a more accurate, fair-market valuation in an otherwise fragmented and volatile trading environment.
As the <a href="https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/2069288/000199937125006858/canarycro-s1_053025.htm">filing </a>explains, this structure isn't backed by federal institutions like the FDIC—a detail that may matter to risk-averse investors.
In particular, the fund avoids leverage, derivatives, or lending of assets, a fairly conservative approach in crypto investing, where structured products tend to come with sophisticated financial engineering layered on top. This might be attractive to investors who want uncomplicated exposure with magnified risk.
The ETF filing extends the earlier partnership between Canary Capital and Crypto.com via the Canary CRO Trust to launch a regulated avenue for qualified U.S. investors to gain access to CRO in a custody structure.
If approved, the Canary Staked CRO ETF would be another incremental move in bringing traditional capital markets together with decentralized assets. It would provide a regulated, passive means of crypto exposure with the added benefit of built-in on-chain yield generation. Investors may see this as innovation or just iteration, but it is certainly another indication of crypto&#8217;s continued shift toward mainstream financial frameworks.

Canary Capital Seeks SEC Approval For Staked CRO ETF Offering Passive Crypto Exposure

Shares of Nvidia Corporation (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>) are trading lower Friday after reports emerged that the Trump administration is preparing a new set of export restrictions aimed at <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/regulations/25/05/45676270/chinese-stocks-soar-as-us-court-blocks-trump-tariffs">China's tech sector. </a>
What To Know: The proposed rule would extend existing sanctions to include subsidiaries that are majority-owned by companies already on U.S. trade restriction lists, such as the Entity List and Military End-User list, <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-05-30/us-plans-wider-china-tech-sanctions-with-subsidiary-crackdown?srnd=homepage-americas&amp;embedded-checkout=true">according to Bloomberg.</a>
The new rule is intended to close loopholes that allow sanctioned Chinese firms to continue operating through affiliated entities not currently subject to controls. The policy would apply a 50% ownership threshold and could be announced as early as June, although the timing and specific companies affected remain under review. U.S. officials are also reportedly considering adding new Chinese chipmakers, including Changxin Memory Technologies and parts of Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp., to the list of targeted firms.
The move adds pressure to semiconductor stocks like Nvidia, which are exposed to the global chip supply chain and generate significant revenue from international markets. Tensions between the U.S. and China have escalated in recent weeks, following Trump's claim that China violated recent trade agreements and amid China's own restrictions on critical mineral exports.
Nvidia's decline reflects investor concerns over the potential impact of heightened export controls on chipmakers' access to Chinese markets, as well as broader uncertainty around U.S.-China tech policy.

What's Going On With Nvidia Shares Today?

Wall Street analysts raised their price targets on Dell Technologies (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/DELL#NYSE">DELL</a>) on Friday after the company reported its first-quarter <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/25/05/45681613/dell-q1-earnings-revenue-beat-eps-miss-company-highlights-unprecedented-demand-for-ai-optimized-servers">results on Thursday.</a>
Dell reported first-quarter revenue of $23.38 billion, up 5%, beating the consensus estimate of $23.14 billion. The company reported adjusted earnings of $1.55 per share, missing analyst estimates of $1.69 per share.

Dell expects second-quarter revenue of $28.5 billion-$29.5 billion. The company anticipates second-quarter adjusted earnings of $2.25. Dell expects fiscal 2026 revenue of $101 billion-$105 billion and full-year adjusted earnings of $9.40 per share.

<li>Goldman Sachs analyst Michael Ng <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/DELL/analyst-ratings" rel="noreferrer noopener">maintained a Buy</a> rating on Dell Technologies and raised the price target from $95 to $130.</li>
<li>BofA Securities analyst Wamsi Mohan reiterated a Buy rating on Dell Technologies and raised the price target from $150 to $155.</li>

Goldman Sachs: AI server momentum and buybacks offset EPS miss and fiscal 2026 EBIT outlook cut on traditional servers, storage, and PCs, as per Ng. Dell&#8217;s first-quarter EPS and EBIT missed on worse-than-expected ISG profits, and the company lowered its fiscal 2026 EBIT outlook to $9.1 billion-$9.5 billion (versus $9.2 billion-$9.6 billion prior) on slower market growth assumptions across traditional servers, PCs, and storage, he noted. 
However, AI server KPIs were much better than expected, with Dell delivering a record $12.1 billion of AI server orders (versus Ng&#8217;s estimate of $7.2 billion), of which ~$7 billion should translate into revenue in the second quarter, the analyst said.
Ng noted that the 5-quarter AI server pipeline increased Q/Q, remains several multiples of the backlog, and includes many sovereign, AI cloud, and enterprise opportunities.
The analyst said ISG margins of 9.7% were missed (versus Ng estimate 10.8%) but were primarily related to traditional server customers and geographic mix (i.e., more large customers, less North America exposure) with no issues around AI server margins. Despite investor concerns on PC margins, CSG EBIT was in-line and the outlook was better-than-feared with Dell seeing deflationary commodity costs inclusive of tariffs, Ng noted.
Despite Dell&#8217;s fiscal 2026 EBIT guidance cut, it raised its EPS guidance by $0.10 to $9.15-$9.65 (versus $9.05-$9.55 prior) on better buybacks, the analyst said.
Ng&#8217;s fiscal 2026 revenue and EPS move to $108.3 billion and $9.30, from $102.8 billion and $9.13.
BofA Securities: Dell reported that first-quarter revenue beat expectations. Still, Mohan noted that EPS came in at the low end of the guide due to modest tariff impacts on CSG margins and slightly weaker growth from ISS.
The analyst said the second-quarter guide far exceeded Street expectations due to an incremental $5 billion in revenue from AI servers.
At the highest level, he noted the potential for Dell to deliver significantly higher AI server revenue over the next two years (&gt;$30 billion) with a substantial upside to EPS (&gt;$3).
Dell reported CSG segment revenue of $12.5 billion (+4.5% Y/Y), exceeding their guide of ~flat growth Y/Y, the analyst said.
Management noted they saw strong demand growth across SMB and enterprise customers, Mohan said.
Commercial far outperformed Consumer, as consumer revenue declined 19% due to competitive industry pricing, he said.
Mohan noted that Dell saw a &#8220;modest impact&#8221; on tariffs in the quarter but was able to absorb the impact and leave pricing unchanged for its customers. Management still expects that PC refresh will occur in fiscal 2026 and should drive low single-digit to mid-single-digit revenue growth in CSG.
He said the confidence in PC refresh is due to the abnormal age of the install base and recent indicators for Win 11 upgrades and upgrades to AI PCs.
Mohan noted that Dell&#8217;s AI server backlog stands at $14.4 billion, implying $12.1 billion in AI server orders and $1.8 billion in AI server revenue and shipments in the first quarter.
The analyst said that for the second quarter, Dell guided AI server shipments to $7 billion, well above expectations, and increased its fiscal guide to $15 billion-plus (versus just $15 billion prior).
He said management is confident in its ability to grow AI server revenue and drive incremental growth in operating profit dollars and cash flows.
For the second quarter, Mohan modeled AI server revenue ~in line with the shipment guide of $7 billion (+126% Y/Y, +289% Q/Q), Mohan noted.
Mohan&#8217;s fiscal 2026 revenue and EPS move to $105.0 billion and $9.40, from $103.2 billion and $9.16.
Price Actions: DELL stock is trading lower by 1.8% to $111.57 at last check Friday.

Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BABA#NYSE">BABA</a>) shares are trading lower Friday after a combination of political and legal developments reignited concerns over <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/regulations/25/05/45676270/chinese-stocks-soar-as-us-court-blocks-trump-tariffs">U.S.-China trade relations.</a>
What To Know: On Thursday, President Donald Trump stated that China had violated its trade agreements with the United States. While he did not specify which terms were broken, his comments come as he continues to push for stricter trade enforcement. Shortly after his remarks, a U.S. federal appeals court temporarily reinstated most of the tariffs Trump had previously enacted using the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.
These tariffs had been struck down just a day earlier by a three-judge panel, which ruled that the International Emergency Economic Powers Act did not grant the president unlimited authority to impose tariffs. However, the Trump administration filed an appeal and the appellate court responded by putting the lower court's decision on hold, pending further review.
For Alibaba and other U.S.-listed Chinese companies, this legal uncertainty adds pressure. The stock had previously seen upward movement when the court initially blocked the tariffs, but that optimism quickly reversed. Investors are now reassessing risk, especially as Alibaba and peers like PDD Holdings and Baidu operate in a geopolitical environment prone to sudden shifts.
Earlier in May, China and the U.S. agreed to temporarily lower mutual tariffs for 90 days, with U.S. duties dropping from 145% to 30% and Chinese duties on American goods falling from 125% to 10%. That agreement provided short-term relief, but the recent court ruling and Trump's rhetoric suggest those reductions may be at risk if political dynamics change, especially with the upcoming election cycle.
BABA Price Action: Alibaba shares were down 2.78% at $113.92 at the time of writing, according to <a href="https://pro.benzinga.com/dashboard?new_user=False&amp;backend=google-oauth2">Benzinga Pro.</a>

What's Going On With Alibaba Shares Today?

<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/chinese-stocks" rel="noreferrer noopener">US-listed Chinese stocks</a> Alibaba Group Holding (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BABA#NYSE">BABA</a>),&nbsp;PDD Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/PDD#NASDAQ">PDD</a>), and&nbsp;Baidu, Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BIDU#NASDAQ">BIDU</a>) declined on Friday after U.S. President&nbsp;Donald Trump&nbsp;accused China of violating an agreement with the U.S. to ease tariffs in his Truth Social <a target="_blank" href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114596705340367716" rel="noreferrer noopener">post</a>.
However, President Trump did not mention specifically how China violated the deal.
Chinese electric vehicle companies, including&nbsp;NIO Inc&nbsp;(NYSE:&nbsp;NIO) and&nbsp;XPeng Inc&nbsp;(NYSE:&nbsp;XPEV), also traded lower on Friday.

On May 12, Beijing and Washington&nbsp;had agreed to lower&nbsp;tariffs on each other's products, temporarily offering relief to the stock market. The deal reduced U.S. levies of 145% on most Chinese imports to 30%, while China's 125% duties on U.S. goods will drop to 10% for 90 days.
On Wednesday, a&nbsp;federal court had <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/regulations/25/05/45676270/chinese-stocks-soar-as-us-court-blocks-trump-tariffs" rel="noreferrer noopener">invalidated&nbsp;global tariffs</a> enacted by Trump under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.
A three-judge panel, with appointees from the Reagan, Obama, and Trump eras, ruled that the IEEPA doesn't give the president unlimited power to impose tariffs.
However, the order was appealed, and on Thursday, the federal appeals court in Washington reinstated the tariffs on foreign imports.
"The request for an immediate administrative stay is granted to the extent that the judgments and the permanent injunctions entered by the Court of International Trade in these cases are temporarily stayed until further notice while this court considers the motions papers," the order stated,
Price Actions:&nbsp;BABA stock is down 2.88% at $113.81 at last check Friday. PDD is down 1.34%, BIDU is down 2.41.

US Listed Chinese Stocks Drop After Trump Renews Trade Tensions

Golden Eagle Strategies filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to introduce a new <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/etfs">ETF centered</a> on some of the fastest-growing companies. 
The Golden Eagle Dynamic Hypergrowth ETF will be an actively managed fund that focuses on companies with at least 40% growth during the current quarter, and can comfortably be labeled as hypergrowth businesses.
The <a href="https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1771146/000199937125006852/golden-485apos_052925.htm#golden485aposa001">filing</a> on May 29, 2025, was identified by Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas, who highlighted its heavy emphasis on high-growth stocks. Generally, firms in tech and innovation sectors are considered high-growth.

The fund will come with an expense ratio of 0.85%. Golden Eagle Strategies has committed to absorbing most of the operational cost beyond the advisory fee, making it cost-effective for investors. The ETF should debut around mid-August 2025, pending regulatory approval, with exchange and ticker information still to be announced.
The timing of the announcement is significant. 
The tech sector, which was languishing in the markets most of the first five months of 2025, beaten by tariff and geopolitical worries, rebounded in May. This is reflected in the almost 8% monthly gains for the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 index. Optimism around NVIDIA Corp.&#8217;s (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>) and Tesla Inc.&#8217;s (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) prospects <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/etfs/broad-u-s-equity-etfs/25/05/45679047/nvda-tsla-turbocharge-qqq-surge-toward-best-month-since-2023">have a big role to play in this rise</a>. On a side note, the rebound has pushed the Invesco QQQ Trust (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/QQQ#NASDAQ">QQQ</a>), which tracks the Nasdaq 100 index, to its best month since 2023.
From a trader&#8217;s point of view, the Golden Eagle Dynamic Hypergrowth ETF might offer an interesting play to both mainstream investors and those with access to innovation-driven growth. 
The fund&#8217;s emphasis on businesses that have extremely high growth rates, typically business areas aligned with technological advancements, may make it a favorite during the new generation of investment vehicles that are attempting to ride the surge in the technology sector.

Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Dogecoin Can't Catch A Break As Traders See 'Sellers In Control'

Netflix Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NFLX#NASDAQ">NFLX</a>) just earned a bullish call from Bank of America, which believes that even after a 33% year-to-date surge to all-time highs, the stock still <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color">has more upside ahead.</a>
In a note shared Friday, analyst Jessica Reif Ehrlich said the streaming leader is benefiting from strong advertising momentum, a massive content slate and continued subscriber growth.
The investment bank lifted its price target on Netflix from $1,175 to $1,490, suggesting a 25% upside. 
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Why Bank of America Is Bullish On Netflix</h3>
Netflix has been a top performer in the firm's coverage, supported by "sustained earnings momentum, positive subscriber trends," and a "defensive rotation related to tariffs."
At its recent 2025 Upfront presentation, Netflix reported that its ad-supported plan now reaches 94 million monthly active users—up from 70 million in November 2024 and 40 million one year ago.
Reif Ehrlich said the platform now delivers "more 18-34-year-olds than any U.S. broadcast or cable network," a milestone that significantly boosts its appeal to advertisers.
Netflix's move off Xandr and onto its own ad tech stack is proceeding smoothly. The company has already launched its in-house ad platform in the U.S. and Canada, and rollouts in 10 other ad markets are ongoing. The expert wrote that "long term, ads will be personalized and customized."
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Second-Half Content Slate Could Boost Engagement</h3>
Netflix's second-half programming schedule is what Reif Ehrlich called a "content bonanza," featuring the return of its three most-watched franchises—&#8221;Squid Game&#8221; on June 27, &#8220;Wednesday&#8221; on August 6, and &#8220;Stranger Things&#8221; later this year.
These are joined by new originals like Guillermo del Toro's &#8220;Frankenstein,&#8221; Adam Sandler's &#8220;Happy Gilmore 2,&#8221; and Tina Fey's &#8220;The Four Seasons.&#8221;
On the live content front, Netflix is betting on boxing matches from Madison Square Garden—produced by Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions—and NFL games on Christmas Day.
Reif Ehrlich said this lineup supports &#8220;healthy retention and subscriber growth,&#8221; and positions Netflix for stronger ad engagement.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Netflix's Position Remains Strong</h3>
Reif Ehrlich lifted her valuation multiple from 32x to 40x expected 2026 EBITDA, in line with Netflix's current trading range. She said the move is backed by "increased visibility in growth drivers" including advertising and live programming.
"We continue to view Netflix as well positioned given the company's unmatched scale in streaming," Reif Ehrlich said, also pointing to "significant opportunities in advertising and sports/live."

Netflix Stock Could Climb Another 25% Thanks To Second-Half 'Content Bonanza,' Says Bank Of America

Goldman Sachs analyst Brooke Roach reiterated the Buy rating on Gap, Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GAP#NYSE">GAP</a>), <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/GAP/analyst-ratings" rel="noreferrer noopener">raising the price forecast from $25 to $28</a>.
On Thursday, the firm reported first-quarter earnings of&nbsp;51&nbsp;cents per share, which beat<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/25/05/45683620/gap-stock-plunges-after-q1-results-warns-tariffs-could-dent-fy25-revenue-by-150-million" rel="noreferrer noopener"> the consensus estimate of&nbsp;45&nbsp;cents</a>.
Quarterly revenue came in at $3.46 billion,&nbsp;which beat the Street estimate of&nbsp;$3.42 billion. Gap has reaffirmed its full-year 2025 guidance, excluding any potential tariff-related impacts.
While core business trends remain solid, the analyst highlighted that the investor sentiment may have been tempered by heightened expectations and Gap&#8217;s acknowledgment of a larger-than-expected tariff headwind in the second half, even after mitigation, estimated at $100 million to $150 million.

Gap continues to shift its sourcing strategy to reduce exposure to China. The company expects less than 3% of its products to come from China by the end of 2025, down from under 10% in 2024.
By the end of 2026, Gap aims to ensure no single country accounts for more than 25% of its sourcing.
The estimated unmitigated tariff impact stands at $250 million to $300 million, while mitigation efforts could bring that down to $100 million to $150 million. However, this range is not formally included in the company&#8217;s current outlook.
Gap is using standard mitigation levers such as adjusting sourcing, manufacturing, assortments, and negotiating with vendors, but does not plan to raise prices in response to the tariff risk.
Despite the uncertainty, the company is continuing to invest in key strategic initiatives and intends to reinvest a portion of its projected FY25 cost savings to support its growth plans.
While the analyst has reduced Gap&#8217;s second-half forecasts due to higher-than-expected tariff headwinds and expects this to weigh on the stock in the near term, Roach remained confident in the company&#8217;s ability to manage these challenges into FY26 using additional &#8220;mitigatory levers,&#8221; including the &#8220;unused option&#8221; of pricing.
The analyst added that Gap has additional mitigation tools available, including the option to adjust pricing, which it has not yet utilized.
Roach stated that their 2025, 2026, and 2027 EPS estimates have been revised to $2.19, $2.34, and $2.61, compared with the previous forecasts of $2.28, $2.37, and $2.61.
The update reflects Gap&#8217;s strong first-quarter performance and incorporates the latest tariff guidance provided by management, the analyst said in the note.

GAP Flags Over $100 Million Tariff Burden Outside Guidance, Near-Term Stock Pressure Likely: Analyst

Many of the people who bought Lyft at the support regretted doing so when the stock dropped below it. Many decided to hold on to their losing positions. But they also decided that if they could ever exit at breakeven, they would.

As a result, when the shares rallied back to $15.40 in February 2025, they placed sell orders. The large amount of these orders formed resistance at the same price that had been support.
Now Lyft has found support at this level again. This is because of seller's remorse.
Many of the traders and investors who sold at the resistance regretted doing so when the resistance broke and the stock moved higher. Some of them decided that if they eventually could, they would buy their shares back at the same price they were sold for.
So now that the price has fallen back to this level, these remorseful sellers are placing buy orders. The large concentration of these orders formed support at the same price that had been resistance.
But this support may be about to break.
When support breaks, it means the investors and traders who created the support with their buy orders are gone. They either finished or canceled their orders.
This means if new sellers enter the market, they will need to be aggressive and undercut each other if they want to draw buyers back into the market. If this happens, it could force the price of Lyft lower.

Ulta Beauty Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ULTA#NASDAQ">ULTA</a>) shares rallied in early trading on Friday, after the company reported on Thursday <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/25/05/45682895/ulta-beauty-stock-climbs-after-better-than-expected-q1-report-raised-fiscal-2025-outlook">upbeat first-quarter results</a>.

Piper Sandler: Ulta Beauty's comp sales grew 2.9% year-on-year to $2,848 million, beating Street expectations of $2,794 million, Wolfmeyer said in a note. The company's brand engagement efforts seem to be "resonating" and proved effective in the quarter, she added.
Management's full-year guidance reflects the stronger first-quarter beat, while also incorporating more uncertainty in the back half of the year, the analyst stated. 
"While it does seem like management is taking a more conservative approach, we appreciate the prudence given the evolving macro backdrop," she further wrote.
Telsey Advisory Group: Ulta Beauty reported earnings of $6.70 per share, beating the consensus estimate of $5.81 per share, despite a challenging consumer environment, Telsey said. Management raised its full-year revenue guidance to $11.5-$11.7 billion, from their prior outlook of $11.5-$11.6 billion, she added.
The company had already indicated that this would be a transitional year, "marked by increased investments to help drive market share gains and long-term profitable growth," the analyst wrote.
ULTA Price Action: Shares of Ulta Beauty had risen by 11.38% to $469.81 at the time of publication on Friday.

Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/PFE#NYSE">PFE</a>) on Friday released data from Phase 3 BREAKWATER trial evaluating BRAFTOVI&nbsp;(encorafenib) in combination with cetuximab (marketed as ERBITUX) and mFOLFOX6 (fluorouracil, leucovorin, and oxaliplatin) for metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) with <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/health-care" rel="noreferrer noopener">a&nbsp;</a><a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/health-care" rel="noreferrer noopener">BRAF V600E</a><a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/health-care" rel="noreferrer noopener"> mutation</a>.
The study showed statistically significant and clinically meaningful <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/05/b45691850/pfizers-braftovi-combination-regimen-cuts-the-risk-of-death-in-half-for-patients-with-braf-v600e-m" rel="noreferrer noopener">survival results</a>.
The data will be presented at the 2025 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting and published in the&nbsp;New England Journal of Medicine.

In a second interim analysis of overall survival (OS), a key secondary endpoint, the BRAFTOVI combination regimen reduced the risk of death by 51% compared to standard-of-care chemotherapy with or without bevacizumab (Hazard Ratio [HR] 0.49).
Median OS was 30.3 months with BRAFTOVI&nbsp;in combination with cetuximab and mFOLFOX6 compared to 15.1 months with chemotherapy with or without bevacizumab.
In the primary analysis of progression-free survival (PFS), the BRAFTOVI combination regimen reduced the risk of disease progression or death by 47% compared to standard-of-care chemotherapy with or without bevacizumab (HR 0.53) as assessed by blinded independent central review (BICR).
Median PFS was 12.8 months with the BRAFTOVI combination regimen compared to 7.1 months.
The updated objective response rate (ORR) by BICR confirmed the improvement previously observed with the BRAFTOVI combination regimen compared to patients receiving chemotherapy with or without bevacizumab.
The prior primary analysis also maintained the estimated median duration of response and median time to response.
The BRAFTOVI combination regimen received accelerated approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in December 2024 for patients with&nbsp;BRAF V600E -mutant mCRC based on a clinically meaningful and statistically significant improvement in confirmed ORR in treatment-naïve patients, the study&#8217;s other dual primary endpoint.
Continued approval for this indication is contingent upon verification of clinical benefit.
The BREAKWATER survival data are being discussed with the U.S. FDA to support potential conversion to full approval in 2025.

Pfizer Reports Survival Gains In Colorectal Cancer Study, Combo Therapy Cuts Death Risk By Over 50%

Telsey Advisory Group analyst Cristina Fernandez maintained Foot Locker (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/FL#NYSE">FL</a>) with a Market Perform and a <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/FL/analyst-ratings" rel="noreferrer noopener">$24&nbsp;price target</a> on Thursday.
The earnings release disclosed total sales down 4.6% Y/Y to $1.79 billion versus the analyst estimate of negative 3.8% to $1.80 billion and FactSet at negative 2.1% to $1.83 billion due to store closures, the shutdown of several European countries, and an FX headwind of 10 bps, as per Fernandez.
The analyst noted that the pressure on the comp was due to soft traffic and was greater in the European business (which was down 10.2%), a deceleration from +1.9% in the fourth quarter of 2024.

<li>In North America, Foot Locker (-0.9%) and WSS (-4.6%) were dragged down performance and more than offset growth at Champs (+0.5%) and Kids Foot Locker (+3.4%).</li>
<li>The operating margin of -0.1% reflected a Y/Y decline of ~150 bps and was in line with the analyst&#8217;s expectation. </li>
<li>A gross margin decline of 40 bps to 28.4%, better than Fernandez at 28% and FactSet at 28.1%.</li>
</ul>
The company called out merchandise margin pressure of ~10 bps, likely on ongoing promotions, and occupancy deleverage of ~30 bps on the lower sales.
Given Dick&#8217;s Sporting Goods&#8217; pending acquisition, Foot Locker did not host an earnings call or update its prior financial outlook, which consisted of EPS of $1.35-$1.65, sales growth of -1.0% to 0.5%, a comp of 1.0%- 2.5%, and an operating margin of 2.6%- 3.1%.
Fernandez noted the pending acquisition of Foot Locker by Dick&#8217;s Sporting Goods as a good outcome for shareholders and does not expect significant regulatory opposition.
While Foot Locker has made progress on its LaceUp plan in areas like repositioning its store base through closures, off-mall openings, and refreshes and remodels, the analyst says there is much more work to do, with 300 refreshes and 80 remodels planned for 2025 and more in 2026.
While the company invested in technology, such as new apps, and relaunched its loyalty program, Fernandez said there is room for improvement.
While investors have been skeptical of the transaction, the analyst said Foot Locker could benefit from stronger supply chain and e-commerce capabilities and an experienced leadership team with a track record of execution under Dick&#8217;s Sporting Goods&#8217; ownership.
Over time, Fernandez noted Dick&#8217;s could generate greater savings through consolidation of operational functions, closing underperforming stores, divestitures of non-core banners, and adopting some of Dick&#8217;s best practices at Foot Locker, particularly as it relates to promotions, inventory management, and e-commerce. As per the analyst, these changes could allow Foot Locker to return to the 8.9% operating margin it generated in 2019 from ~2.3% in 2024.
Price Action:&nbsp;At the last check on Friday, FL shares were trading lower by 0.74% to $23.76.
