TSMC Shares Rise As GlobalFoundries' $16B U.S. Expansion Boosts Semiconductor Sector

Guidewire Software, Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GWRE#NYSE">GWRE</a>) shares are trading higher Wednesday after the company reported better-than-expected third-quarter earnings on Tuesday after the market closed.
What To Know: Guidewire reported adjusted earnings per share of 88 cents, beating the consensus estimate of 47 cents. In addition, the company posted sales of $293.51 million, beating the consensus estimate of $286.39 million, and representing a 22% year-over-year growth.
Guidewire broke down sales further, reporting subscription and support revenue was $181.8 million, up 32% year-over-year, license revenue was $57.2 million, an increase of 2% year-over-year, and services revenue was $54.5 million, representing a 17% year-over-year rise.
The company posted annual reoccurring revenue of $960 million.
&#8220;We delivered exceptional third-quarter results, highlighted by record Q3sales activity and 17 cloud deals,&#8221; said Mike Rosenbaum, CEO, Guidewire.

Outlook: Guidewire sees fourth-quarter sales between $332 million and $340 million, versus the consensus estimate of $299.63 million.
The company now sees fiscal-year 2025 sales from $1.18 billion to $1.19 billion, versus the consensus estimate of $1.17 billion. Guidewire previously anticipated sales from $1.16 billion to $1.17 billion.

Semiconductor giant Broadcom Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AVGO#NASDAQ">AVGO</a>) will look to continue its recent history of beating analyst projections when the company reports second-quarter financial results Thursday <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/earnings">after market close.</a>
Here are the analyst estimates, what experts are saying ahead of the report and key items to watch.
Earnings Estimates: Analysts expect Broadcom to report second-quarter revenue of $14.99 billion, up from $12.49 billion in last year's second quarter, according to data <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/pro/register?utm_adType=bzprocontent&amp;utm_campaign=14daytrial&amp;utm_ad=0604">from Benzinga Pro.</a>
The company beat analyst estimates in the first quarter and has beaten analyst estimates for revenue in eight of the last 10 quarters overall
Analysts expect Broadcom to report second-quarter earnings per share of $1.56, up from $1.10 in last year's second quarter. The company beat estimates in the first quarter and has beaten analyst estimates for earnings per share in nine of the last 10 quarters overall.

What Experts Are Saying: Strong demand for Broadcom's AI products and a stabilization of the company's non-AI semi-business could see a second-quarter beat, JPMorgan analyst Harlan Sur<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-stock-ratings/analyst-color/25/06/45752910/jpmorgan-sees-upside-in-broadcom-ahead-of-earnings-q3-revenue-could-top-16-billion-on-ai-strength" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> recently said.</a>
The analyst maintained an Overweight rating and price target of $250.
Sur said Broadcom is also likely to guide for higher than expected third-quarter revenue, led by its AI demand strength.
&#8220;Broadcom remains our overall top pick in our semiconductor coverage given their exposure to AI infrastructure spending trends combined with their diversified end market exposure and best-in-class gross, operation and free cash flow margins,&#8221; Sur said.
Freedom Capital Markets Chief Global Strategist Jay Woods said Broadcom is "basically Nvidia's baby brother," with the company growing in Nvidia's shadows for years.
"Shares have rallied just over 500% from its 2022 lows which pales to the 1250+% rally in Nvidia. However, over the past 52-weeks AVGO shares are leading, up 82% compared to Nvidia's 23% gain," Woods said in a weekly <a href="https://jaywoods.substack.com/">newsletter</a>.
Woods said Broadcom stock sits near a key resistance level of $250.
"Technically, if AVGO wanted to step out of NVDA's shadows this would be the chance to do so and lead the semiconductors higher."
Woods said in the tough market environment, Broadcom stock may see a challenge to go higher and investors could look to buy on a dip at around $220.
"For the long-term investors, ignore the noise to come. Shares have suffered through the worst and should break out in due time. It just may not be this time."
Key Items to Watch: Broadcom&#8217;s recent news could be highlighted by the company during the earnings report and conference call and could also factor into future guidance.
The company recently <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/large-cap/25/06/45724502/broadcom-shares-rise-on-new-ai-tools-to-help-businesses-cut-cloud-costs">announced the official launch</a> of VMware Tanzu CloudHealth&#8217;s latest enhancements, including a redesigned user experience and new AI-driven features.
The company <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-stock-ratings/analyst-color/25/06/45751360/broadcoms-flexes-ai-muscle-hyperscalers-buying-in">also recently announced</a> it had started shipping the Tomahawk 6 switch series, which is built to power the next generation of AI networks.
AI will be one of the most watched segments for the company's financial results. In the first quarter, AI revenue was up 77% year-over-year to $4.1 billion. Broadcom CEO Hock Tan predicted second-quarter AI revenue would grow to $4.4 billion.
AVGO Price Action: Broadcom stock is up 1.6% to $261.08 on Wednesday versus a 52-week trading range of $128.50 to $265.43. Broadcom stock is up 13% year-to-date in 2025 and up over 96% in the last year.

Global X Debuts Covered Call Bitcoin ETF, Aims To Keep Volatility In Check

After the best May in 35 years, the US stock market has started June slowly.
Some traders are already talking about a "summer stall," while others expect the rally to continue reaching new all-time highs.
Having traded since the late 1980s, I've seen it all. But I've boiled the financial markets down to five core benchmarks that tell me everything I need to know.
There's so much financial news to keep tabs on right now – the ongoing trade war, interest rates and the tug-of-war between the Fed and Executive Branch, earnings, gold, oil, bellwether stocks like the Magnificent 7 (to say nothing of the other 8,000 optionable stocks in the market), and so much more.
But the truth is, 90% of the chatter around the financial markets is simply noise—a distraction from what's happening beneath the surface – and the best opportunities to profit.
So, the question is: How do you cut through the noise and focus ONLY on what matters?
In my more than three decades as a trader, I have boiled the financial markets down to just five core benchmarks.
These are what I call the&nbsp;Five Points of the Market&nbsp;– the five asset classes that drive the markets every single day:

Now, this is incredibly broad. And it might sound like a lot to keep up with.

You get the idea.
However, each asset class can be tracked by looking at a single benchmark and applying just a few basic trading concepts to how you interpret the data.
Today, I want to ensure that you can use this information to help you make the smartest—and most profitable—trading decisions.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Five Benchmarks to Use to Decode the Markets Every Day</h2>
As I said, I keep tabs on the market by watching the five most powerful asset classes: Stocks, Bonds, Commodities, Currencies, and Crypto.
But those markets are vast, complex, and worth trillions. So, I use some of the biggest, most liquid instruments to track these massive markets.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Stocks: SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF Trust (SPY)</h3>
The S&amp;P 500 Index is the most watched economic indicator in the world. The health of this group of stocks is seen as the benchmark for the entire universe of over 8,000 stocks.
Now, I'm not really interested in monitoring 500 stocks every day (I only really like 370 of them anyway).
The SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF Trust (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SPY#NYSE">SPY</a>) is an exchange-traded fund that tracks the performance of the S&amp;P 500 Index. It is the most liquid security in the financial market.
SPY gives me a picture of the overall stock market. In one glance, I can tell you short-, medium- and long-term trends impacting the day's trading, not to mention what to look out for in the coming days.
SPY is a great way to gauge the health of the overall stock market. Its liquidity makes it an easy way to buy or trade the market.
Analyzing SPY also reveals the market's most powerful seasonal trends. November to April is the "best six months" seasonal pattern (with April being the strongest month for stocks overall). September, meanwhile, is the weakest month. These historical seasonal trends are important to consider against current market trends and data.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Bonds: iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF (TLT)</h3>
iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TLT#NASDAQ">TLT</a>) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the investment results of an index composed of U.S. Treasury bonds with remaining maturities greater than 20 years.
This gives us an excellent snapshot of the $140 trillion bond market.
TLT is an economic indicator that can serve as a leading indicator for the inflation outlook.
Longer-term bonds (like those with 20+ years until maturity) generate a yield curve – rates usually rise right along with the time horizon.
Long-term bond yield is reflective of future inflation, so it rises as TLT increases.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Commodities: SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) and the United States Oil Fund LP (USO)</h3>
Now, I don't need to monitor the thousands of commodities that make up the over $20 trillion commodities market.
That's because things like cobalt, lumber, and coffee don't really matter to the overall economic picture – and they certainly don't influence traders' decisions unless you specialize in trading obscure cobalt futures.
That's why I keep my focus on the only commodities that really drive markets: gold and oil.
For gold, I track SPDR Gold Shares (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GLD#NYSE">GLD</a>), an exchange-traded fund designed to track the price of gold. Rather than using derivatives to track gold, GLD is backed by actual physical gold, including 400-ounce London good delivery bars held in the HSBC Bank vault in London.
Why is the price of gold important? Well, gold is usually inversely correlated with the value of the U.S. dollar, and it's considered a safe haven during market turbulence. Many market experts (myself included) will tell you that exposure to gold is still a great hedge for any portfolio.
If I'm seeing signs of trouble in the stock market, a rise in the price of gold, as reflected in GLD's price, may indicate that traders are loading up ahead of a pullback or a correction.
Meanwhile, to track the oil market, I use the United States Oil Fund LP (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/USO#NYSE">USO</a>). USO tracks the price of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) light, sweet crude oil by investing in futures contracts, and it can be a great short-term vehicle for trading oil.
Of course, rising oil prices could indicate increased demand due to economic expansion. Plummeting oil prices, meanwhile, can indicate an economic downturn.
Oil and gold both have seasonal patterns that occur throughout the year, and we pay close attention to both.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Currencies: Invesco DB US Dollar Index Bullish Fund (UUP)</h3>
The U.S. dollar is the world's reserve currency and the most-watched currency in the world.
A strong dollar can negatively correlate with stocks. Over the last several years, when the dollar has surged, stocks have fallen.
So, I like to monitor Invesco DB US Dollar Index Bullish Fund (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/UUP#NYSE">UUP</a>) for signs of a strengthening or weakening dollar to help inform my trading.
For example, if we're in the middle of a seasonal bear pattern and the dollar is getting stronger, that could give me additional confirmation that a bearish stock or option trade is the way to go.
Likewise, if the Money Calendar predicts a bullish week and we see weakness in the dollar, it may be time to go long.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Crypto: Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH)</h3>
Bitcoin (BTC) is the world's first and largest cryptocurrency, representing nearly 60% of the $2.7 trillion crypto market.
It's the number one indicator of the health of the crypto market—when Bitcoin is going up, bullish sentiment takes hold and spreads to thousands of smaller coins. When Bitcoin consolidates sideways, the entire market follows suit. When Bitcoin crashes, the market enters what we call a "Crypto Winter."
You get the idea. If you want to successfully trade the crypto market, you've got to pay attention to Bitcoin.
From time to time, we'll also take a look at Ethereum (ETH).
Like every other asset class I track, the crypto market is subject to seasonal patterns and regular cycles, just like stocks.
Money flows first into Bitcoin, then Ethereum, and then into smaller, more speculative altcoins.
So when Ethereum is outperforming Bitcoin, we like to track it because it can help us uncover those big, fast gains in the altcoin market, the kinds of coins I trade for 1000%+ gains.

In a recent episode of &#8220;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKNvZZ-5qDw">The Ramsey Show</a>,&#8221; a couple in their 70s shared how they went from being completely debt-free to falling back into financial chaos. After completing Dave Ramsey&#8217;s Financial Peace University in 2016, they had <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/money/how-to-pay-off-debt">paid off all their debt</a> by 2017 and even bought their mobile home in cash. Recently, they applied for a $29,000 <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/money/best-personal-loans-for-debt-consolidation">debt consolidation loan</a> and wanted Dave's advice before accepting it. &#8220;That will put us into a debt relief loan,&#8221; she said. &#8220;We haven&#8217;t bought it yet, but we were able to obtain a loan.&#8221;
Jade Warshaw, Ramsey&#8217;s co-host, wasn't having it. &#8220;You&#8217;re still looking to debt as the solution for this,&#8221; she told her. &#8220;You haven&#8217;t learned your lesson that <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/personal-finance/24/12/42746966/debt-and-broke-are-the-norm-says-dave-ramsey-explains-why-normal-isnt-working-for-most-americans-and-how-to-take-control-of-your-money">debt is the issue</a>.&#8221;
The couple insisted they were always &#8220;100% paying the bills on time.&#8221; I don&#8217;t know how we&#8217;ve done it,&#8221; she said.&nbsp;
&#8220;That&#8217;s not a miracle,&#8221; Ramsey replied. &#8220;You paid the stinking credit cards before you did anything else. Then you barely ate, and your husband swung a hammer enough to get it done.&#8221;

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Living Beyond Their Means In An Expensive Area</h2>
The couple lives in Riverside County, California, about 100 miles from their family in Los Angeles. Their mobile home and the land it&#8217;s on are worth around $135,000. But even owning their home outright hasn't kept them afloat.
&#8220;You can&#8217;t even pay the payments on what you&#8217;ve got,&#8221; Ramsey said, noting their $3,100 monthly income doesn&#8217;t stretch far in such a high-cost area. &#8220;You're telling yourself a lie,&#8221; Warshaw added.
Ramsey pointed out the underlying issue: &#8220;We don&#8217;t have math that is sustainable here. The pattern keeps you spending more than you have coming in.&#8221;

He emphasized that debt consolidation is not the way out. &#8220;You cannot borrow your way out of debt,&#8221; he said. &#8220;So no, do not take the $29,000 loan.&#8221;
Instead, he urged them to increase their income, stick to a strict zero-based budget and pay off their debt aggressively. &#8220;If you did $2,000 a month, you would be done in 23 months. If you did twice that, you'd be done in 10 months.&#8221;
&#8220;You have to stop it,&#8221; he said bluntly. &#8220;You're going to wake up at 81 in the same situation. And the 91.&#8221;

The company said it opened 25 new stores. Ollie&#8217;s acquired 18 of those stores through Big Lots&#8217; bankruptcy auction. The company ended the quarter with 584 stores in 32 states, an increase of 13.2% year over year.
KeyBanc Capital Markets: &#8220;OLLI remains one of our favorite SMID growth ideas,&#8221; analyst Bradley Thomas writes. &#8220;We also expect OLLI to benefit from the strong closeout environment and customer retention.&#8221;

AI Arms Race: Could ETFs Catch The Next DeepSeek Wave Before It Goes Mainstream

Needham analyst Mike Cikos maintained a Buy rating on Zscaler (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ZS#NASDAQ">ZS</a>) and raised the price <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/ZS/analyst-ratings" rel="noreferrer noopener">forecast from&nbsp;$310&nbsp;to&nbsp;$350</a>.
On June 3, Cikos attended Zscaler&#8217;s annual Zenith event, the company&#8217;s flagship gathering for customers and partners. In an analyst note, he said that the company unveiled several new capabilities, primarily focused on AI and the expansion of its <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/06/g45743698/zscaler-unveils-cutting-edge-ai-innovations-to-stop-attacks-protect-sensitive-data-and-enable-busi" rel="noreferrer noopener">Zero Trust Everywhere initiative</a>.
These enhancements aim to bolster data security and thwart cyberattacks, directly addressing critical challenges businesses face when adopting AI, such as protecting proprietary information and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Cikos stated that he sees Zenith as Zscaler&#8217;s initial presentation of management&#8217;s expansive vision for a reimagined Agentic SOC (Security Operations Center) powered by AI innovations supporting their Data Fabric for Security.
Concurrently, the acquisition of Red Canary is expected to accelerate this vision by adding domain experts capable of engaging with customer SOC teams, a slightly different client persona, the analyst noted.
Additionally, the analyst pointed out that Red Canary is anticipated to empower Zscaler&#8217;s partners to serve clients better while advancing the Threat Management vision by more effectively utilizing security signals for investigations.
The analyst believes that Zscaler is capable of maintaining its high level of execution as new sales hires increase their productivity and attrition rates decline.
Cikos mentioned that in the third quarter of FY25, Zero Trust Everywhere customers grew over 60% sequentially to more than 210, targeting over 390 by the end of FY26.
The company sees a 6x up/cross-sell opportunity in existing customers, and Cikos views newer products like Branch and AI Analytics as underappreciated.
Cikos foresees sustained ~20% growth, with operating margins eventually surpassing 30% in the long term.

Trump Hails 'Best May In 30 Years' — These 3 AI Infra Stocks Delivered Their Own MAGA Moment

Hims &amp; Hers Health, Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/HIMS#NYSE">HIMS</a>) on Tuesday agreed to acquire ZAVA, a European digital health platform. The deal <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/weight-loss" rel="noreferrer noopener">terms were not disclosed</a>.
The acquisition consideration will be 100% cash, funded from the company&#8217;s balance sheet at closing. The acquisition is expected to close in the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/06/b45742522/hims-hers-announces-plans-to-acquire-zava-accelerating-major-european-growth-across-the-uk-germany" rel="noreferrer noopener">second half of 2025</a>.
The move will expand Hims &amp; Hers&#8217; footprint in the United Kingdom and officially launch the company into Germany, France, and Ireland, with more markets anticipated soon.
In the coming quarters, Hims &amp; Hers will establish its own branded presence in these European markets, leveraging the ZAVA platform.

The deal will significantly strengthen Hims &amp; Hers&#8217; international footprint. Serving more than 1.3 million active customers, ZAVA&#8217;s in-house medical team delivered nearly 2.3 million consultations in 2024 across the U.K., Germany, France, and Ireland.
Hims &amp; Hers will soon introduce a new, personalized dimension of digital health in Europe, providing individuals with access to care tailored to their needs and goals across dermatology, weight loss, sexual health, and mental health. While Hims &amp; Hers will share more about the offerings and their rollout in the coming months, they expect the deal to be accretive by 2026.
&#8220;We are positively inclined by the deal and believe HIMS&#8217; existing solutions are highly applicable to similar demographics in Europe, underscoring the potential for international markets to be a durable growth vector longer term,&#8221; a Needham analyst wrote on Wednesday.
Analyst Ryan Macdonald reiterated the Buy rating for the stock, raising the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/HIMS/analyst-ratings" rel="noreferrer noopener">price forecast from $61 to $65</a>.
While HIMS did not disclose any financial metrics for ZAVA, Needham estimates ZAVA revenues in the range of $100 million annually.
&#8220;We conservatively estimate the weight loss opportunity alone in ZAVA&#8217;s existing markets to expand HIMS&#8217; Total Addressable Market by $52.1 billion,&#8221; analyst Macdonald wrote.
Price Action: HIMS stock is down 2.24% at $53.51&nbsp;at the last check on Wednesday.

Rosenblatt analyst Mike Genovese is questioning how successful Ciena (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/CIEN#NYSE">CIEN</a>) will be over the next one to five years, taking on companies like Marvell Technology (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MRVL#NASDAQ">MRVL</a>) and Broadcom Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AVGO#NASDAQ">AVGO</a>).
What Happened: The analyst maintains <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/CIEN/analyst-ratings" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">a Neutral</a> rating and raised the price target from $65 to $85, according to a Tuesday research note.
Ciena will report second-quarter results on June 5 before the open.
Genovese expects good results and guidance, likely slightly ahead of consensus, driven by substantial revenues and orders.
Ciena&#8217;s upcoming report comes as the market for transceivers and components changes. The proliferation of AI-focused data centers, for example, demands extremely high bandwidth.
Ciena uses Coherent lite optics — a lightweight, more cost-effective version of high-end coherent optics — and IM/DD (Intensity Modulation/Direct Detection).
The analyst questioned whether the company would increase fiscal 2025 revenue guidance from its current &#8220;high-end of 8% to 11%&#8221; range.

Why It Matters: Genovese wonders whether the company will achieve mid-40s gross margins within the next three years and whether there is upside to mid-40s gross margins in 3 to 5 years if it successfully wins a share of AI Data Center campus, fabric, and cluster applications.
Genovese said Ciena sells Metro, LH, and Subsea Data Center Interconnect to every major U.S. Cloud Provider and Metro and LH Optical transport. U.S. Tier 1 Telco orders continue to be significantly higher than a year ago.
Second-quarter revenues should hover around $1.09 billion. That&#8217;s up 20% year over year versus an easy comp and up 2% quarter over quarter.
Genovese noted that Ciena could slightly exceed second-quarter revenue expectations. The company could also keep its backlog consistent with the prior quarter at ~$2.3 billion or grow its backlog due to strong orders. The consensus hurdles for gross margins, operating margins, and EPS are 42.6%, 10.0%, and $0.52, all of which look slightly beatable, he says.
DCI is Ciena&#8217;s primary market exposure. Genovese said the revenue mix shift keeps going toward Cloud Providers from Service Providers. The company&#8217;s heavy DCI exposure is unlikely to support mid-40s gross margins, he says.
According to the analyst, significant progress in generating inside-the-datacenter and software revenues will be needed to achieve sustainable mid-40s gross margins.
Price Action:&nbsp;CIEN stock is up 1.63% at $84.62 at last check Wednesday.
