The chipmaker's CEO Jensen Huang stunned investors at Washington's GTC event on Tuesday by unveiling $500 billion in projected AI datacenter revenue <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/tech/25/10/48519708/jensen-huang-says-nvidia-has-visibility-into-half-a-trillion-dollars-in-revenue-as-it-surpasses-apple-microsoft-to-hit-5-trillion-valuation">over the next two years.</a>



All five tech titans that reported earnings this week—Microsoft, Alphabet, Amazon, Meta, and Apple—beat analyst expectations. Yet the market's response was mixed. Amazon and Alphabet surged sharply, Apple and Microsoft were little moved, while Meta plunged 10% after announcing massive AI-related capital spending.



The Cupertino-based tech giant continues to wrestle with weaker Chinese demand but sounded upbeat on iPhone 17 sales heading <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/trading-ideas/long-ideas/25/10/48571272/apple-breaks-records-in-q4-tim-cook-says-q1-will-be-even-better-the-best-ever-for-the-company">into the holiday season.</a>



Meanwhile, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell threw a splash of cold water on hopes for <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/economic-data/25/10/48510387/jerome-powell-press-conference-fed-meeting-october-30-interest-rate-outlook-market-reactions">another rate cut in December.</a>



Although the Fed delivered a widely expected 25-basis-point reduction on Wednesday, Powell stressed that another cut in December is "far from a foregone conclusion." 



Divisions within the Fed are growing, he admitted, and visibility has worsened due to the ongoing government shutdown, which is delaying key data.



"If you are driving in the fog, you slow down," Powell said.



Beyond the trading screens, signs of labor market strain are intensifying. Amazon recently cut 14,000 jobs, prompting some to highlight the rising impact of AI.



General Motors Co. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/GM">GM</a>) is temporarily laying off about 5,500 workers across three plants, including Detroit's Factory Zero. GM plans to bring back roughly 2,200 employees in January but will furlough 1,200 indefinitely as it reassesses electric-vehicle output following President Donald Trump's rollback of key EV tax credits. 



With no official labor data due next week, investors will closely watch private-sector surveys like ADP's National Employment Report for clues on hiring trends and what they might mean for future Fed policy.

According to a recent Yahoo/YouGov poll, there is a growing dissatisfaction among Americans with President Donald Trump&#8216;s economic management. 



A staggering 60% of the respondents expressed disapproval, marking the highest disapproval rating for Trump&#8217;s handling of the economy to date.



The <a href="https://www.scribd.com/document/940759720/Yahoo-YouGov-Economy-Poll-October-2025">poll</a>, conducted between Oct. 23 to 27, marks a significant shift in public sentiment. This is in stark contrast to the mid-2020 scenario when Trump&#8217;s average approval rating on the economy was 49%.



The poll results have surfaced amidst a government shutdown and Trump&#8217;s decision to halt trade talks and impose higher tariffs on Canada.

The next 20%, between the 60th and 80th percentiles, is the "upper-middle class." For retirees, income only tells half the story. The more revealing measure is net worth, and for that, the go-to sources are the <a href="https://www.federalreserve.gov/econres/scfindex.htm">Federal Reserve's Survey of Consumer Finances</a> and the <a href="https://dqydj.com/net-worth-by-age-calculator/">DQYDJ Net Worth Calculator</a>, which translates that survey data into percentile rankings by age. It's the most current snapshot we have until the Fed releases new data in 2026.



Among households aged 65 to 69, entering the upper-middle class means having a net worth around $550,000, while those aged 70 to 74 hit that mark closer to $700,000.&nbsp;

These numbers include more than just investments. According to the Berkshire&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.berkshirehathaway.com/news/nov0125.pdf" rel="noreferrer noopener">report</a>, the gain was largely&nbsp;driven by a 216% jump in insurance-underwriting profit, which&nbsp;came in at $2.369 billion&nbsp;for the third quarter, down&nbsp;from $750 million a year&nbsp;prior.



Insurance-investment income fell 13.18% to $3.181 billion.



As of September 30, the insurance float was approximately $176 billion, an increase of $5 billion since year-end 2024.



Net earnings attributable to Berkshire shareholders in the quarter under review totaled $30.796 billion, higher than $26.251 billion a year ago.



There were no share repurchases in the first nine months of 2025.



Berkshire&#8217;s shareholders&#8217; equity at September 30, was $698.2 billion, an increase of $48.8 billion since December 31, 2024.

The transaction is Berkshire&#8217;s biggest move since its $11.6 billion purchase of insurer Alleghany in 2022, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.cnbc.com/2025/11/01/berkshire-hathaway-brk-earnings-q3-2025.html" rel="noreferrer noopener">reports </a>CNBC.

So why didn&#8217;t they get approved for a loan? According to them, it&#8217;s because they always <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/personal-finance/management/25/08/47314634/credit-cardholders-share-their-best-tactics-for-paying-off-0-apr-credit-card-debt">pay off the balance</a> before the statement comes out. As a result, their balances were always reported as zero.



Credit card issuers report balances to the credit bureaus on the statement closing date, not the due date. By paying off everything early, the person unintentionally erased any evidence of credit usage, making them look inactive in the eyes of lenders.
