With three Class VI permits secured, drilling is underway, with first injection planned by late 2025.
Frontier is expanding its infrastructure with 256 megawatts (MW) of gas-fired generation to meet growing power demands in Wyoming, the Mountain West, and Texas, driven by data center and industrial growth.
Baker Hughes&#8217; NovaLT gas turbines will be used to enhance power generation, ensuring efficient and flexible energy delivery.
Baker Hughes anticipates receiving orders as Frontier&#8217;s projects advance under this agreement. Frontier is a portfolio company of Tailwater Capital, a private equity firm specializing in integrated energy and environmental infrastructure investments.

Baker Hughes Partners with Frontier On Carbon Capture Push: Details

Baker Hughes Company&nbsp;(NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BKR#NASDAQ">BKR</a>) shares are trading lower on Monday. The company disclosed the appointment of Ahmed Moghal as its new <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com//node/43911780" rel="noreferrer noopener">chief financial officer, effective immediately.</a>
He will succeed Nancy Buese, who, by mutual agreement with the company, ceased to serve as CFO effective today. She will transition to a strategic adviser role and will leave the company on April 30, 2025.
Moghal, who is currently serving as CFO of the company&#8217;s Industrial &amp; Energy Technology (IET) business, previously held senior roles across various business and corporate functions.

Baker Hughes Appoints Ahmed Moghal As CFO, Reaffirms Growth Targets

Baker Hughes Company (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BKR#NASDAQ">BKR</a>) disclosed several transactions and partnerships at the Baker Hughes <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/BKR" rel="noreferrer noopener">2025 Annual Meeting in Florence</a>.
ExxonMobil Contract: Baker Hughes secured a contract from Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/XOM#NYSE">XOM</a>) Guyana to supply specialty chemicals and services for the Uaru and Whiptail offshore <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/02/g43426683/baker-hughes-secures-major-chemicals-award-from-exxonmobil-guyana-for-fpsos" rel="noreferrer noopener">developments in the Stabroek Block</a>.
Uaru and Whiptail are ExxonMobil Guyana&#8217;s fifth and sixth projects, featuring up to 20 drill centers and 92 wells.
Each FPSO will have a capacity of 250,000 barrels per day, raising the country's total production capacity to 1.3 million barrels per day.
The multi-year contract covers topsides, subsea, water injection, and utility chemicals for the Errea Wittu and Jaguar FPSOs, set to begin production in 2026 and 2027, respectively.
Hanwha Partnership: Baker Hughes inked a joint Development and Collaboration Agreement (JDCA) with Hanwha Power Systems and Hanwha Ocean to develop a small-size <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/02/g43426721/baker-hughes-and-hanwha-announce-partnership-to-develop-small-size-ammonia-turbines" rel="noreferrer noopener">turbine for ammonia applications</a>.
The turbine will combine Baker Hughes&#8217; gas turbine technology with Hanwha&#8217;s ammonia combustion system.
Baker and Hanwha plan to complete full engine testing with ammonia by the end of 2027, after which the ~16MW turbine will be available for commercial orders.
Argent LNG Contract: The company has been chosen by Argent LNG as the liquefaction solution and services provider for its proposed LNG <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/02/g43427007/argent-lng-selects-baker-hughes-as-technology-provider-strengthening-project" rel="noreferrer noopener">export facility in Port Fourchon, Louisiana</a>.
Baker Hughes will supply liquefaction technology, power generation equipment, and gas compression systems for the facility, which aims to produce approximately 24 MTPA of LNG.

Baker Hughes Lands ExxonMobil Guyana Deal, Partners With Hanwha On Ammonia Turbines

SLB Capturi, a joint venture&nbsp;between Schlumberger (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SLB#NYSE">SLB</a>) and Aker Solutions, secured an engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/01/b43220800/slb-capturi-and-aker-solutions-win-contract-to-deliver-carbon-capture-solution-for-hafslund-celsio" rel="noreferrer noopener">(EPCIC) contract from Hafslund Celsio</a>.
The company plans to deliver a carbon capture solution at its Klemetsrud waste-to-energy facility in Oslo.
The contract includes a carbon capture plant, liquefaction system, temporary storage, and a loading facility at the waste incineration site, along with an intermediate CO2 storage and ship loading system at Oslo harbor.
The project will use SLB Capturi&#8217;s modularized Just Catch 400 unit, which enables a cost-effective solution by minimizing onsite footprint, installation, and outfitting work.
The plant is expected to capture 350,000 metric tons of CO2 annually, upon operational, which will be transported to the Northern Lights storage facility.
The EPCIC award follows a cost-reduction phase that identified efficiencies, including layout optimization.
The project is part of Longship, Norway&#8217;s full value-chain CCS initiative. Hafslund Celsio&#8217;s project is the second carbon capture plant in Longship, with SLB Capturi also delivering the carbon capture plant at Heidelberg Materials&#8217; Brevik cement facility in collaboration with Aker Solutions.
Martin S. Lundby, chief executive officer at Hafslund Celsio, stated, &#8220;Our partners bring valuable expertise from large industrial developments both in Norway and internationally. Together, we will construct a carbon capture solution that is expected to be operational by third quarter 2029.&#8221;
&#8220;This project is a testament to important public and private collaboration to build an industrial value chain for carbon capture and storage. The project will also significantly contribute to reducing emissions and will create value for both industry and society,&#8221; added Kjetel Digre, CEO of Aker Solutions.
Last week, SLB, along with Star Energy Geothermal, a subsidiary of Indonesian renewable energy company&nbsp;Barito Renewables, entered into a partnership to<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/01/43135328/slb-teams-up-with-star-energy-geothermal-to-advance-geothermal-tech" rel="noreferrer noopener"> boost geothermal technology</a>.
Recently, the company reported&nbsp;better-than-expected fourth-quarter 2024 results, with revenue of $9.28 billion, beating the consensus of $9.18 billion. Adjusted EPS increased 7% to 92 cents,&nbsp;above <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/01/43055401/schlumberger-posts-strong-q4-results-raises-dividend-and-buybacks-championx-deal-to-strengthen-future-growth" rel="noreferrer noopener">the consensus of 90 cents</a>.

Schlumberger JV Lands Carbon Capture Deal In Oslo, Norway: Details

Several analysts lowered the price target following Halliburton Company&#8216;s (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/HAL#NYSE">HAL</a>) mixed fourth-quarter results and weak <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/hal/analyst-ratings">guidance reported Wednesday.</a>
Halliburton reported revenue decline of 2.3% year-over-year to $5.610 billion, missing the consensus of $5.63 billion. Adjusted EPS was 70 cents, down from 86 cents a year ago and above <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/25/01/43131221/halliburton-faces-mixed-q4-with-north-american-weakness-but-global-gains-and-cash-flow-bolster-optimism">the consensus of 69 cents</a>.
Stifel analyst Stephen Gengaro lowered the price target from $42 to $37, while maintaining a Buy rating.
The analyst says that Halliburton reported solid results but issued weak guidance for the first quarter and 2025.
Gengaro highlights international revenue headwinds from Mexico and pricing concessions on fully contracted North American frac fleets, which may pressure C&amp;P margins.
Despite these challenges, the company's long-term growth outlook remains strong, driven by its product portfolio, service quality, technology focus, and geographic diversity. Robust free cash flow should continue to support shareholder returns, adds the analyst.
The analyst cut the 2025 EBITDA estimate to $4.665 billion from $5.296 billion and introduced a 2026 EBITDA forecast of $5.330 billion.
Meanwhile, Goldman Sachs analyst Neil Mehta lowered the price target from $36 to $34, while keeping the Buy rating.
The analyst updated estimates following the results to reflect company guidance and a softer activity environment.
In particular, the analyst revised EBITDA estimates by -7% for 2025 and -8% for 2026.
Mehta said management's focus on technology, particularly digital solutions and automation, should reinforce its competitive position and drive margin expansion.
While the analyst anticipates a modest decline in 2025 revenue, strong free cash flow remains a key strength, with an estimated $2.4 billion in FCF (~10% yield) and a 7% total capital return yield.

The analyst writes that Halliburton shares fell after lowering 2025 expectations, guiding NAM revenue to decline low- to mid-single digits year-over-year and international revenue to remain flat.
Podhaizer expects a meaningful first-quarter of 2025 decline, with EBIT margins contracting over 100bps due to lower U.S. frac pricing.
While consensus estimates must adjust downward, the analyst trims EBITDA estimates by -8% for the first quarter, -2% for FY25, and -4% for FY26, aligning with the view that NAM will bottom before international.

Halliburton Analysts Trim Forecasts After Softer 2025 Guidance

Schlumberger N.V. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SLB#NYSE">SLB</a>) shares are trading lower on Wednesday. The company secured several major drilling contracts from Shell PLC (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SHEL#NYSE">SHEL</a>).
These contracts will support capital-efficient energy development across deep- and ultra-deepwater assets in the UK North Sea, Trinidad and Tobago, the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/01/b42872559/slb-awarded-multi-region-deepwater-contracts-by-shell-to-support-capital-efficient-energy-developm" rel="noreferrer noopener">Gulf of Mexico, and other locations.</a>
The projects, set to be delivered over three years, will leverage SLB&#8217;s AI-enabled digital drilling capabilities alongside its expertise in ultra-deepwater environments.
This combination aims to consistently deliver more efficient wells, enhancing cost-effectiveness.

The contract involves the provision of two subsea raw seawater injection systems to enhance recovery from the Búzios field.

Oil prices kicked off the week with a notable rally, driven by OPEC+'s decision to postpone an anticipated production increase ahead of the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/2024-election">imminent U.S. presidential elections. </a>
The oil cartel and its allies, including Russia, opted to delay plans to ramp up output by another month, citing ongoing market weakness and sluggish demand.
On Monday, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude — as closely tracked by the United States Oil Fund (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/USO#NYSE">USO</a>) — surged as much as 3% to hit $71.50 per barrel, its highest since Oct. 25, while Brent crude rose 2.7% to reach $75 per barrel.

These gains effectively erased last week&#8217;s losses, which followed Israel's limited response to Iran — a development that experts said reduced the risk of a broader conflict in the Middle East, providing temporary relief for oil markets.
OPEC+ announced on Sunday that it would maintain its production cut of 2.2 million barrels per day (bpd) through December. 
Originally, the group had planned to increase output by 180,000 bpd in December, but it conditioned this hike on favorable price conditions. 
The next formal meeting of OPEC+ ministers is scheduled for December 1, although the group has the flexibility to convene extraordinary meetings or alter its policies at any time.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">US Sanctions Policy Could Shape Future Of Oil</h3>
The outcome of the upcoming U.S. presidential election could be crucial for the oil market, particularly with regard to sanctions policies that affect OPEC+ producers like Russia, Iran, and Venezuela. 
&#8220;After plummeting during the first Trump administration, production in Iran and Venezuela has recovered under President Joe Biden, with the focus of sanctions moving to Russia,&#8221; wrote S&amp;P Global. 
Combined, Iran and Venezuela pumped 4.15 million bpd in September, up from 3.2 million bpd in February 2022, according to Platts' OPEC+ Survey by Commodity Insights, as both countries are exempt from quotas under the OPEC+ agreement, allowing them to pump as much as they can. 
Sanctions policy is expected to remain a key factor influencing the global oil supply, particularly amid ongoing geopolitical tensions in Ukraine and the Middle East.
The Biden-Harris administration has imposed extensive sanctions on Russia, aiming to weaken its military capabilities and hinder its economic resources that support the ongoing war in Ukraine. These sanctions, coordinated with allies like the G7 and EU, target key areas, including Russia&#8217;s defense sector, critical supply chains, and financial networks.

Oil Prices Spike By Over 3% As OPEC+ Delays Production Increases Ahead Of US Elections: 5 Energy ETFs To Watch Monday

Analysts cut the price target on BP p.l.c. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BP#NYSE">BP</a>) following the company&#8217;s third quarter results reported on Tuesday.
BP&#8217;s revenue fell short at $47.25 billion, below the $52.56 billion consensus, with oil production down <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/24/10/41598840/bp-stock-drops-as-q3-revenue-misses-mark-production-declines-debt-rises" rel="noreferrer noopener">6% year over year</a>.
For FY24, BP&nbsp;continues to expect&nbsp;both reported and underlying upstream production to be&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/calendars/guidance" rel="noreferrer noopener">slightly higher than the prior year</a>.&nbsp;
Meanwhile, the company continues to expect $25 billion&nbsp;of divestments and other proceeds from the second half of 2020 through 2025.
RBC Capital Markets analyst Biraj Borkhataria lowered the price target to 480p (from 525p) while reiterating the Sector Perform rating.
The analyst writes that BP faced significant challenges lately, and without an improving macroeconomic environment, they believe the investment case remains weak.
The company appears to have missed an opportunity in 2022-23, a peak period in the cycle, to significantly reduce its leverage, adds the analyst.
Borkhataria says that this oversight has left its distribution program less resilient compared to its peers.
The analyst observed a stronger focus on the balance sheet this quarter compared to previous periods, with net debt increasing from $33.3 billion to $35.3 billion (including leases).
Borkhataria expects this figure to rise to approximately $40 billion by the end of the year.
The analyst says that BP requires a reset of expectations ahead of its February 2025 Capital Markets Day (CMD).
Adjusting the &#8216;surplus&#8217; payout ratio seems prudent, and the analyst believes it would be wise to allocate more cash towards strengthening the balance sheet.
Given the lackluster returns in recent years, Borkhataria thinks that prioritizing de-leveraging over growth capital expenditures in the transition engines should be the focus.
The analyst&#8217;s revised EPS estimates reflect a decrease of 6% for 2024 and 10% for 2025, primarily due to lower refining earnings, partially balanced by increased contributions from gas and low-carbon initiatives.
Goldman Sachs analyst Michele Della Vigna reduced the price target to 560p from 580p while reaffirming the Buy rating. Also, the analyst reduced the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/BP/analyst-ratings">ADR price target to $44.0 from $46.0.</a>
The analyst anticipates lower oil and gas price realizations than expected, particularly for European gas, which may result in diminished earnings and cash flow generation.
Additionally, lower-than-expected recovery rates in mature offshore oil and gas fields could lead to higher decline rates than currently projected, ultimately resulting in lower production growth and cash flow than their current estimates, adds the analyst.
Vigna adjusted the estimates, resulting in EPS changes of approximately -2%, -7%, and -5% for 2024, 2025, and 2026, respectively, primarily due to lower refining margins and reduced oil trading profits.
Price Action: BP shares are down 0.66% at $29.17 at the last check Wednesday.

The company disclosed that its OneSubsea joint venture won a contract from BP p.l.c. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BP#NYSE">BP</a>) for a subsea boosting system as part of the greenfield development of the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/24/10/b41598382/slb-onesubsea-awarded-subsea-boosting-contract-for-bps-kaskida-project-in-gulf-of-mexico" rel="noreferrer noopener">Kaskida project in the deepwater U.S</a>.
This contract signifies an important achievement in the enduring collaboration between SLB OneSubsea and BP, as it is their inaugural engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) agreement for a subsea boosting system.
The project involves a supplier-led high-pressure subsea pump solution, featuring an integrated power and controls umbilical, as well as the requisite topside equipment.
The OneSubsea subsea boosting system is a crucial technology for bp&#8217;s inaugural Paleogene field development.
It will provide the necessary artificial lift to optimize production by enhancing reserve recovery while minimizing energy consumption.
This month, SLB reported revenue growth of 10.2% year over year to $9.159 billion, missing the consensus of $9.25 billion. Adjusted EPS increased 14% to 89 cents,&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/24/10/41401700/schlumberger-q3-earnings-mixed-results-as-middle-east-shines-and-latin-america-falters" rel="noreferrer noopener">above the consensus of 88 cents</a>.

Crude oil prices plummeted over 6% on Monday, approaching levels not seen since early October, as investors processed news of targeted <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/10/41567809/oil-etfs-plunge-premarket-after-israels-strikes-on-iran">Israeli airstrikes in Iran</a>.
U.S. energy stocks followed suit during premarket trading in New York, with sector ETFs posting sharp losses at the start of the week. 
Contracts on West Texas Intermediate (WTI) light crude, as tracked by the United States Oil Fund (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/USO#NYSE">USO</a>), fell over 6% to around $67 per barrel on Monday morning, marking what could be the worst one-day drop since July 2022.
The sell-off followed Israeli airstrikes over the weekend that targeted military facilities in Iran but spared the country's oil infrastructure.
According to the Israel Defense Forces, the strikes were "targeted and precise," focusing on Iranian missile production and air defense installations. 
This measured response likely averted a deeper crisis in the oil market, as analysts warned that a broader assault on Iran's energy sector could have risked up to 1.7 million barrels per day (bpd) of Iranian crude exports and led to further regional destabilization. 
U.S. President Joe Biden had cautioned Israel against actions that would directly impact Iran's oil output, warning that such moves could prompt Tehran to retaliate by targeting oil shipping routes in the Middle East.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Analysts Expect Oil Prices To Remain Under Pressure</h3>
Goldman Sachs analysts had previously estimated that a sustained 1 million bpd disruption to Iranian oil supply could have pushed Brent prices up by $10–$20 per barrel. 
With no immediate threat to Iran's oil exports, the bank's forecast for Brent reaching the mid-$80s by late 2025 now appears overly optimistic compared to the consensus view.
The restrained nature of Israel's actions has led some analysts to predict that oil prices will remain subdued, especially in light of broader market dynamics. 
Warren Patterson, head of commodity strategy at ING Group, highlighted that Israel's focused response leaves "the door open for de-escalation," which seems to be reflected in Monday&#8217;s price action.
"If we do see some de-escalation, it would allow fundamentals to dictate price direction once again," Patterson explained, adding that a projected market surplus in 2025 &#8220;would mean that oil prices are&nbsp;likely to remain under pressure.&#8221;
Ole Hansen, head of commodity strategy at Saxo Bank, indicated that crude prices have now retraced most of the gains made in early October, which were fueled by Chinese economic stimulus and concerns over potential disruptions to Iran's supply. Hansen pointed out that "sluggish demand" and the impending reintroduction of OPEC+ barrels could further weigh on oil prices.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">China's Declining Demand, OPEC+ Production Decisions Add To Bearish Sentiment</h3>
On the demand side, Chinese consumption—accounting for roughly 15% of global oil demand—has been trending downward since May 2024
According to Pascal Devaux, an economist at BNP Paribas, this decline is tied not only to China's economic slowdown but also to structural changes within its energy sector. "Around 45% of new car registrations in China are for electric vehicles, either battery-powered or hybrid," Devaux said, underscoring the impact of the country's low-carbon transition on oil demand.
Capital Economics forecasts that if OPEC+ follows through on its plan to unwind voluntary production cuts initiated in October, an increase in oil supply combined with weak demand growth could drive prices lower throughout the remainder of 2024 and into 2025.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">US Energy Stocks See Sharp Losses</h3>
Sector ETFs posted notable declines in early trading:

<li>The Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/XLE#NYSE">XLE</a>), which tracks large-cap U.S. energy companies, was down 2.3% at the start of Monday's session. APA Corporation (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/APA#NASDAQ">APA</a>), Diamondback Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/FANG#NASDAQ">FANG</a>), and Marathon Oil Corporation (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MRO#NYSE">MRO</a>) all registered losses between 3% and 4%.</li>

(NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/VTLE#NYSE">VTLE</a>) are both down 4%.</li>

<li>VanEck Oil Services ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/OIH#NYSE">OIH</a>) dropped 1.7%. Companies like ProPetro Holding Corp. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/PUMP#NYSE">PUMP</a>), Liberty Energy Inc. What Happened: Israel Defense Forces killed Sinwar — Israel's most wanted target since the war with Hamas began on Oct. 7 — in a firefight in Gaza.
Sinwar orchestrated an assault that killed about 1,200 people and led to the abduction of over 200 others.

&#8220;There has rarely been a military campaign like this, with Hamas leaders living and moving through hundreds of miles of tunnels, organized in multiple stories underground, determined to protect themselves with no care for the civilians suffering above ground,&#8221; Biden said. 
&#8220;Today, however, proves once again that no terrorists anywhere in the world can escape justice, no matter how long it takes.&#8221;
Sinwar's body was retrieved after an exchange of fire on Wednesday, according to the <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/live/2024/10/17/world/israel-lebanon-iran-gaza-news?campaign_id=190&amp;emc=edit_ufn_20241017&amp;instance_id=137113&amp;nl=from-the-times&amp;regi_id=136109156&amp;segment_id=180692&amp;user_id=e415429009fa21c5b8b4141c24d72bca">New York Times</a>, citing Israeli authorities. His identity was verified using dental records and fingerprints that matched those on file, Israel Police said. There was no immediate response from Hamas regarding his death.

Since Iran's <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/global/24/10/41126038/iran-attacks-israel-with-missiles-middle-east-tensions-escalates-s-p-500-stocks-bitcoin-fall-as-oil">missile attack on Israel</a> on Monday, the price of barrels has fluctuated. As of Oct. 3, the price of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil is $73.83 per barrel. This reflects a 5.32% increase from the previous day&#8217;s close of $70.10.

Oil Prices Rally: Biden Confirms US 'Discussions' With Israel About Striking Iran Facilities

On Monday, Schlumberger N.V. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SLB#NYSE">SLB</a>) disclosed the formation of a joint venture (JV) with ADNOC Drilling Company and Patterson-UTI Energy, Inc.
