The fund seeks to track the investment results of the S&P Global 1200 Consumer Discretionary (Sector) Capped Index (the Underlying Index), which is designed to measure the performance of global equities in the consumer discretionary sector. The Underlying Index uses a capping methodology to limit the weight of the securities of any single issuer (as determined by S&P Dow Jones Indices LLC (SPDJI)) to a maximum of 10% of the Underlying Index. Additionally, the capping methodology limits the sum of the weights of the securities of all issuers that individually constitute more than 5% of the weight of the Underlying Index to a maximum of 25% of the weight of the Underlying Index in the aggregate. In order to implement this capping methodology, the Underlying Index rebalances quarterly to limit the weight of any single issuer to a maximum of 10%, and the aggregate weight of all issuers that individually exceed 4.50% of the Underlying Index weight to maximum of 22.50%.

Tesla Inc. The price surge increased the EV maker&#8217;s market cap by $80 billion in just one day. Tesla&#8217;s valuation hit the $870 billion mark, leaving companies like Warren Buffett&#8216;s Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BKR#NYSE">BKR</a>) (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BKR#NYSE">BKR</a>) and Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/META#NASDAQ">META</a>) in its rearview mirror.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Morgan Stanley Turns Bullish On Tesla</h2>
The catalyst: Morgan Stanley&#8217;s analyst Adam Jonas shifted his stance on Tesla, moving the stock from Equalweight to Overweight. He also hiked the price target from $250 to $400, which is nearly 50% higher than current market prices. 
The reason: Tesla&#8217;s Dojo supercomputer. Morgan Stanley sees the potential of Dojo adding $500 billion to Tesla&#8217;s enterprise value. This optimism is rooted in the belief that the supercomputer will expedite adoption rates in mobility, particularly robotaxis, and network services.
Morgan Stanley emphasized the importance of identifying scalable, high-potential ventures that haven&#8217;t been fully factored in by the market. The analysts believe Tesla&#8217;s Dojo fits this bill perfectly. 
According to the investment bank, Tesla&#8217;s groundbreaking supercomputing tech sets new standards. Their custom-designed chip, combined with specialized hardware and software, could offer a sixfold cost reduction per computing power unit, thanks to a highly efficient system.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">ETFs Soaring On Tesla Rally</h2>
When discussing exchange-traded funds with significant Tesla exposure, many instantly think of Cathie Wood&#8217;s Ark Innovation ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ARKK#NYSE">ARKK</a>) as the primary Tesla-heavy fund.
This perception, however, isn&#8217;t entirely accurate. While ARKK boasts a notable chunk of its portfolio dedicated to Tesla – being Wood&#8217;s premier investment – there are ETFs out there with an even heftier Tesla allocation.
Leading the pack with the most significant daily gain is The Meet Kevin Pricing Power ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/PP#NYSE">PP</a>), which surged by 3.2% on Monday. This fund dedicates roughly a quarter of its assets to Tesla.
Hot on its heels is the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/XLY#NYSE">XLY</a>). With an 18.6% Tesla stake, it witnessed a 2.8% daily uptick.
The Vanguard Consumer Discretionary ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/VCR#NYSE">VCR</a>) clinched the third spot, registering a 2.3% daily ascent.
Interestingly, Wood&#8217;s other offering, the ARK Autonomous Technology &amp; Robotics ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ARKQ#NYSE">ARKQ</a>), found itself in the seventh position. It climbed 2.1% for the day, powered by its 13% Tesla allocation.
Factoring in the Tesla shares sprinkled across both ARKK and ARKQ, these funds&#8217; market valuation swelled by $100 million in just one day.

<h3>What Happened</h3>
Whenever global trade tensions escalate, shares of automaker General Motors Company (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/gm#NYSE">GM</a>) come&nbsp;under pressure, since China is its biggest market,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.cnbc.com/video/2019/08/26/auto-sector-china-japan-trade-war-squawk-box.html">LeBeau said.</a>
Smaller auto companies are not immune from China-related concerns, including Tesla Inc (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/tsla#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>), which is reportedly raising prices in China as soon as Friday &mdash;&nbsp;earlier than expected, according to CNBC.&nbsp;
A new U.S.-Japan trade deal that was discussed during the G-7 summit doesn&#39;t appear to remove tariffs on Japan-based automakers like Toyota Motor Corp (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/tm#NYSE">TM</a>) and Honda Motor Co Ltd (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/hmc#NYSE">HMC</a>), LeBeau said.
<h3>A Diverse Auto Play</h3>
The auto maker is plagued with &quot;too much uncertainty,&quot; but investors looking for some form of exposure may want to consider the iShares S&amp;P Global Consumer Dis Sec (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/rxi#NYSE">RXI</a>) ETF, Blue Line Futures President Bill Baruch&nbsp;<a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2019/08/26/heres-one-way-to-play-the-auto-stocks-as-trade-tensions-boil-over.html">said on a recent CNBC &quot;Trading Nation&quot; segment.</a>
The ETF&#39;s two biggest holdings are Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/amzn#NASDAQ">AMZN</a>) and Mcdonald&#39;s Corp (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/mcd#NYSE">MCD</a>), followed by global automaker Toyota, Baruch said.
The ETF offers access to the global automarket while also diversifying &quot;without idiosyncratic risk,&quot; he said.&nbsp;
The Consumer Discretionary ETF shows a &quot;good support line&quot; at the $112 level and could be seen as a &quot;good place&quot; to get &quot;some exposure in autos,&quot; Baruch said.&nbsp;

CNBC Takes Closer Look At Auto Stocks Amid Trade War Concerns

Harley-Davidson (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/hog#NYSE">HOG</a>), which last month saw head designer Willie G. Davidson, grandson of founder of William A. Davidson, step down after 49 years, is scheduled to report first-quarter 2012 results tomorrow, April 25, before the opening bell.

The past couple years have been tough for the company, which recently made cuts to its hourly workforce and shut down a plant in Wauwatosa, Wis. But the Milwaukee company has expanded the appeal of its iconic products over the past two decades beyond the middle-class bikers that made it famous. And international retail sales have grown as a percentage of total sales -- Harley forecasts that more than 40% of its retail sales will occur outside the United States by 2014.

Expectations

Analysts predict that Harley-Davidson will report per-share earnings of $0.72 for the quarter and that revenue totaled $1.2 billion. In the same quarter of last year, the company reported $0.51 per share and $1.1 billion in sales. The EPS estimate has inched up a penny in the past 60 days. And note that analysts have underestimated Harley-Davidson's EPS in all but one of the past eight quarters; the positive surprise was a penny per share in the fourth quarter.

In that fourth-quarter report, the company said it swung from a previous-year loss to a profit of $105.7 million. Adjusted earnings came to $0.24 per share, compared with an adjusted loss of $0.18 per share in the 2010 quarter. Revenue rose 9.3% year over year to $1.18 billion. Harley-Davidson attributed to the sales increase in part to improved consumer confidence in the U.S., but warned that its 2012 sales could be affected by economic uncertainty, especially in Europe.

Looking ahead to the current quarter, analysts so far expect to see a sequential and year-over-year decline of per-share earnings, as well as revenues about the same as a year ago. At this point, the full-year forecast has EPS up more than 14% from the previous year and revenue more than 6% higher.

The Company

Milwaukee-based Harley-Davidson operates in two segments. The Motorcycles and Related Products unit produces and sells heavyweight motorcycles, parts, accessories and related merchandise. The Financial Services unit provides wholesale retail financing and insurance primarily to dealers and their retail customers in the U.S. and Canada. The company was founded in 1903, and it now is a member of the S&amp;P 500 and sports a market cap of $11.6 billion.

Competitors include Honda Motor (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/hmc#NYSE">HMC</a>) and privately held Suzuki Motor, Yamaha Motor and Triumph Motorcycles. Tokyo-based Honda, which makes automobiles and other vehicles and power products in addition to motorcycles, is expected to report that its fiscal fourth-quarter EPS more than doubled year over year, while revenues rose more than 11%. Honda reports its results on Friday.

During the three months that ended in March, Harley-Davidson's CEO, Keith Wandell, also became chairman, and he declined a salary increase for 2012. As mentioned above, the company announced the retirement of its chief stylist. And in February, it introduced two new models inspired by trends in the American garage-built custom motorcycle scene.

Performance

Harley-Davidson's long-term earnings per share growth forecast is 11.7%. Its return on equity is 23.7% and the operating margin is higher than the industry average. Its 19.9 trailing P/E ratio is in line with the industry average. The dividend yield is 1.2%. On average, analysts who follow the stock recommend buying shares. Their mean price target is only about 2% higher than the current share price, but the price targets range from $38.00 to $60.00.

The stock hit a multiyear high of $52.03 last Friday, and the share price is now more than 30% higher than at the beginning of the year, including up more than 5% in the past week. The price is above the 50-day and 200-day moving averages. Over the past six months, the stock has outperformed Honda Motor, as well as other recreational vehicle companies such as Thor Industries (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/tho#NYSE">THO</a>).

Harley-Davidson Earnings Preview: Q1 EPS Expected to Be Up 29%

No, these are not the best of times for the U.S. consumer. With tepid gains in jobs, a stubbornly high unemployment rate and other economic data points that are merely lukewarm at best, many investors may not believe this is the time to cozy up to ETFs with a discretionary or retail focus.

On the other hand, buying when there's blood on the street or into some strength as we've been seeing can be winning ideas. Hey, it should be noted the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/xly#NYSE">XLY</a>) has actually outperformed the S&amp;P 500 in the past 90 days.

With that, here are five discretionary or retail ETFs your broker forgot to tell you about.

First Trust Consumer Discretionary AlphaDEX Fund (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/fxd#NYSE">FXD</a>):
Home to 125 stocks and nearly $347 million in assets under management, FXD falls in the middle of the discretionary ETF popularity contest. It's not as well known as XLY, but it's not completely undiscovered, either. No single name accounts for more than 1.52% of FXD's weight, but the ETF devotes more than 10% of its weight to the auto sector and that's something be aware of in this environment. Large exposure to specialty retail will be good when the market rebounds, but until that could pressure FXD unless the jobs scenario dramatically improves.

Direxion Daily Retail Bull 2X Shares (NYSE: RETL):
The Direxion Daily Retail Bull 2X Shares is one leveraged ETF that flies under the retail radar as highlighted by average daily volume that barely surpasses 1,300 shares. RETL just broke resistance at $59 and could run back to $64 before seeing next resistance. The ETF's bearish equivalent is the Direxion Daily Retail Bear 2X Shares (NYSE: RETS).

PowerShares S&amp;P SmallCap Consumer Discretionary Portfolio (Nasdaq: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/pscd#Nasdaq">PSCD</a>): 
The small-cap equivalent of XLY, the PowerShares S&amp;P SmallCap Consumer Discretionary Portfolio has garnered almost $42 million in AUM in 18 months of trading. The expense ratio is decent at 0.29% and the ETF is home to 109 stocks. PSCD is one to take a look at if you're looking for exposure to some growth names in the apparel and casual dining sub-sectors.

PowerShares Dynamic Food &amp; Beverage Portfolio (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/pbj#NYSE">PBJ</a>):
Looking at its name, investors may think PBJ is a defensive staples ETF. It is to a certain extent, but there are several stocks in here that ensue this ETF has more exposure than you might realize to economic growth. McDonald's (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/mcd#NYSE">MCD</a>), Whole Foods (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/wfm#NYSE">WFM</a>) and Green Mountain Coffee (Nasdaq: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/gmcr#Nasdaq">GMCR</a>) are integral parts of PBJ's fray.

iShares S&amp;P Global Consumer Discretionary Index Fund (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/rxi#NYSE">RXI</a>):
As we've noted before with RXI, beware the term “global” because more than 54% of the ETF's weight is allocated to U.S. companies. RXI is home to 166 stocks, nearly $123 million in AUM and an expense ratio of 0.48%. Beyond those vitals, like FXD, RXI is heavily exposed to the auto industry. In fact, RXI has more than 23% exposure to that sector. That explains the 15% drop in the past 90 days, but it also means this ETF is intimately correlated to any good global economic news.

Five Discretionary ETFs Your Broker Forgot To Mention

When it comes to a discussion about a strong dollar and ETFs, the conversation will usually find its way to the PowerShares DB US Dollar Index Bullish ETF (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/uup#NYSE">UUP</a>). UUP measures the performance of the greenback against the euro, yen, British pound, Canadian dollar, Swiss franc and Swedish krona.

Simple enough, but are there other ETFs with which to get strong-dollar exposure without directly being involved in the currency market? Yes, there are and some of the candidates might just surprise you. 

Here are five backdoor plays on the strength of the U.S. dollar.

iShares MSCI Taiwan Index Fund (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/ewt#NYSE">EWT</a>):
We'll just let someone else explain why EWT is a good strong dollar idea. In this case, the “someone” is Credit Suisse. The bank said as the U.S. dollar gains strength, Taiwan stocks will benefit. For every 1% the Taiwan dollar falls, local companies add 2.3% profits, according to the bank. The idea is valid, but EWT has seen its share of struggles lately because it's an emerging markets ETF and few investors have woken up to its strong-dollar properties.

Global X Mexico Small-Cap ETF (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/mexs#NYSE">MEXS</a>):
Obviously, Mexico benefits when the greenback is strong because it means Mexican exports command higher prices here in the U.S. That much is true and it warrants a look at the newly minted Global X Mexico Small-Cap ETF. Be advised MEXS faces the same conundrum as EWT and MEXS is trading near its all-time low as we write this.

iShares MSCI France Index Fund (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/ewq#NYSE">EWQ</a>):
This one may be a surprise, but consider this: Nearly 77 million international tourists flocked to France last year, according to the United Nations World Tourism Organization. That's well above the nearly 60 million that came to the U.S. and you can bet a lot of the visitors to France were Americans. A strong dollar means a falling euro and that means it's cheaper for Americans to buy Hermes, Chanel and all the other French goodies. And yes, EWQ features a weight of more than 16% to consumer discretionary names.

First Trust Nasdaq Global Auto Index Fund (Nasdaq: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/carz#Nasdaq">CARZ</a>):
When Toyota (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/tm#NYSE">TM</a>), Honda (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/hmc#NYSE">HMC</a>), Daimler and BMW account for roughly 28% of an ETF's weight, cheering for a strong dollar makes a lot of sense, doesn't it?

iShares S&amp;P Global Consumer Discretionary Index Fund (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/rxi#NYSE">RXI</a>):
The aforementioned auto makers also call RXI home along with other discretionary names with global footprints such as Walt Disney (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/dis#NYSE">DIS</a>) and LVMH Moet Hennessy. Home to 167 stocks, RXI has an expense ratio of 0.48% and $123.2 million in assets under management.

Ten Global Sector ETFs For Your Portfolio In June (RXI, EXI, IXN, IXC, IXG)

BlackRock's (NYSE: <a href="/stock/blk">BLK</a>) massive acquisition of Barclays Global Investors gave the asset manager access to BGI's highly profitable iShares ETF business, but a dozen iShares ETFs are at risk of closing down because certain terms of the deal have yet to be finalized.
Existing investment advisory requirements for the iShares ETFs were terminated on December 1 and new agreements have yet to be ratified, and the ETFs now operate under interim agreements.
The 12 ETFs at risk are:
iShares MSCI Brazil Index Fund (NYSE: <a href="/stock/ewz">EWZ</a>) 
iShares MSCI EMU Index Fund (NYSE: <a href="/stock/ezu">EZU</a>) 
iShares MSCI Germany Index Fund (NYSE: <a href="/stock/ewg">EWG</a>) 
iShares MSCI Mexico Investable Market Index Fund (NYSE: <a href="/stock/eww">EWW</a>) 
iShares S&amp;P Europe 350 Index Fund (NYSE: <a href="/stock/iev">IEV</a>) 
iShares S&amp;P Global 100 Index Fund (NYSE: <a href="/stock/ioo">IOO</a>) 
iShares S&amp;P Global Consumer Discretionary Sector Index Fund (NYSE: <a href="/stock/rxi">RXI</a>)

Obviously, this list includes some heavily traded offerings with tens of billions in assets and closure of the funds isn't likely. And while it most be noted that just because shareholders haven't approved new agreements for the ETFs, that doesn't mean they oppose iShares proposals.
Still, the costs aren't exactly cheap for BlackRock to continue soliciting votes on the agreements. In other words if you are an investor in any of these ETFs, fill out your ballots and send them in ASAP.
