Income from Oil?: Benzinga <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/politics/24/03/37949004/robert-f-kennedy-jr-environmental-lawyer-receives-oil-company-profits">previously reported</a> Kennedy also profits from oil and gas rights through a family investment, despite being a prolific activist and environmental lawyer.
The 2024 presidential candidate has been a critic of fossil fuels and oil and gas companies over the years.
A report from&nbsp;<a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2024/03/25/rfk-jr-family-trust-oil-gas-00148846" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Politico&nbsp;</a>shared that while Kennedy was openly against the oil and gas industry, he also privately earned &#8220;tens of thousands of dollars from an oil and gas rights leasing company.&#8221;
According to the report, Kennedy&#8217;s financial disclosure form showed earnings from&nbsp;Arctic Royalty Limited Partnership.
Kennedy&#8217;s earnings from Arctic Royalty were $17,759 to $29,257 from Jan. 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023, as per the disclosure. The earnings were paid to the family trust owned by Kennedy.
Politico shares that Arctic Royalty Limited Partnership leases land in states to oil and gas companies. Among the companies that have leased land from Arctic Royalty are several companies fined for pollution or infractions previously, including the chemical company involved in the pollution of East Palestine, Ohio, after a train derailed in 2023.
Kennedy told Politico that he sold his stake in Arctic Royalty in December, but did not share proof of the sale.
&#8220;I sold all my stake in this company in December. I still indirectly own a very small interest in Arctic Royalty through my brother David&#8217;s estate. It generates approximately $1,000 per year. I own 1/10 of the estate. Because other family members are also owners, I have no power to sell off this investment,&#8221; Kennedy told Politico.
Kennedy said that Arctic Royalty was an investment made by his grandfather that he inherited.
&#8220;The company does not do any drilling. It owns mineral rights and pays out royalties from companies that are exploiting oil reserves.&#8221;
Kennedy has been active as a voice against pollution and harm to the environment over the years.
The former presidential candidate was also previously critical of President Joe Biden&#8216;s response to the handling of the East Palestine, Ohio, train disaster, saying everybody involved should &#8220;be held accountable, both criminally and civilly.&#8221;
While it&#8217;s not illegal to own stakes in oil and gas royalty companies as a politician, this could be a bad look for a person who is so anti-pollution and against oil and gas companies.

What Happened: The FTC opened the investigation earlier this year, <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-11-27/uber-faces-ftc-consumer-protection-probe-over-subscription-plans?sref=TBDibEcD">according</a> to Bloomberg, citing documents it obtained.
The investigation focuses on customer complaints about being enrolled in the Uber One subscription without their consent. Customers have also raised concerns that canceling the subscription is unnecessarily difficult.
Uber One is a $9.99 monthly subscription that provides discounts on rides and Uber Eats.
The regulatory agency has previously pursued cases against Amazon.com Inc, Adobe Inc and others for similar cancelation practices.
The FTC sent a complaint to Uber shortly following Donald Trump&#8216;s election win on Nov. 5 seeking a monetary settlement, Bloomberg reports. Uber rejected the FTC&#8217;s offer, alleging the agency attempted to fast-track a resolution before Trump took office.

Why it Matters: The company announced in October that Uber One had over 25 million subscribers. It has also recently expanded to India, <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/technology/tech-news/uber-india-launches-uber-one-loyalty-programme-subscription-price-benefits-and-more/articleshow/115731693.cms">according</a> to the Times of India.
The ongoing FTC probe is not the first time Uber has caught the attention of regulators.
Uber and the FTC <a href="https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/news/press-releases/2018/07/ftc-send-refund-checks-uber-drivers-part-ftc-settlement">settled</a> a lawsuit in 2018 over allegations that the San Francisco, California-based company exaggerated driver compensation in advertising. As part of the settlement, Uber refunded an average $222.96 to affected drivers.

FTC Investigating 'Uber One' Subscription Over Alleged Consumer Protection Violation: Report

Like the entire telecommunications industry, T-Mobile has been closely monitoring ongoing reports about a series of highly coordinated cyberattacks by bad actors known as "Salt Typhoon" that are reported to be linked to Chinese state-sponsored operations. Many reports claim these bad actors have gained access to some providers' customer information over an extended period of time – phone calls, text messages, and other sensitive information, particularly from government officials. This is not the case at T-Mobile. To clear up some misleading media reports, here is what we're currently seeing, much of which we believe is different from what is being seen by other providers.
<ul>
<li>Within the last few weeks, we detected attempts to infiltrate our systems by bad actors. This originated from a wireline provider's network that was connected to ours.</li>
<li>We see no instances of prior attempts like this.</li>
<li>Our defenses protected our sensitive customer information, prevented any disruption of our services, and stopped the attack from advancing. Bad actors had no access to sensitive customer data (including calls, voicemails or texts).</li>
<li>We quickly severed connectivity to the provider's network as we believe it was – and may still be – compromised.</li>
<li>We do not see these or other attackers in our systems at this time.</li>
<li>We cannot definitively identify the attacker's identity, whether Salt Typhoon or another similar group, but we have reported our findings to the government for assessment.</li>
</ul>
Simply put, our defenses worked as designed – from our layered network design to robust monitoring and partnerships with third-party cyber security experts and a prompt response – to prevent the attackers from advancing and, importantly, stopped them from accessing sensitive customer information. Other providers may be seeing different outcomes.
We have shared what we've learned with industry and government leaders as we collectively work to combat these large-scale, sophisticated national threats. Last week, I had the opportunity to join a meeting at the White House with other leaders to discuss how we're mitigating these threats. As we all have a mutual goal to protect American consumers, we felt it was important to communicate more about what we've seen with providers who may still be fighting these adversaries.

Dick&#8217;s Sporting Goods Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/DKS#NYSE">DKS</a>) shares are trading higher Wednesday following several analyst updates. Here&#8217;s <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/DKS/news">what you need to know.</a>
What To Know: Analysts notes are rolling in after Dick's Sporting Goods reported third-quarter financial results on Tuesday. The company reported adjusted earnings per share of $2.75 for the third quarter, surpassing the analyst consensus of $2.68. Revenue for the quarter climbed 0.5% year-over-year to $3.06 billion, beating expectations of $3.03 billion, per <a href="http://pro.benzinga.com">Benzinga Pro</a>.
Dick&#8217;s also raised its full-year 2024 earnings outlook to a new range of $13.65 to $13.95 per share, up from a range of $13.55 to $13.90 per share. Current estimates are calling for full-year earnings of $13.88 per share. Net sales are now projected at $13.2 billion to $13.3 billion, compared to the prior range of $13.1 billion to $13.2 billion.
Multiple analyst firms weighed in on the company&#8217;s quarterly results following the print, which appears to be adding to the momentum in the name this week.

<li>UBS upgraded the stock to Buy and increased its price target to $260.</li>
<li>Loop Capital maintained a Hold rating and raised its price target from $220 to $225.</li>
<li>Truist Securities reiterated a Buy rating and slightly raised its price target from $256 to $258.</li>
<li>JPMorgan maintained a Neutral rating and increased its price target from $215 from $230.</li>

In a note to clients, JPMorgan analyst Christopher Horvers highlighted Dick&#8217;s solid execution and strategic investments, including elevated store concepts like House of Sport and Field House. However, the analyst flagged risks from elevated inventory levels, which rose 13.5% year-over-year, primarily in footwear and fleece.
Horvers also pointed to Dick's broader strategy of differentiating itself through premium merchandise and omnichannel advancements. While the company continues to expand its market share, JPMorgan expects more modest margin improvements as expenses rise, including rent and SG&amp;A costs.
Telsey analyst Joseph Feldman also noted Dick's strong market position, premium product offerings and momentum from brand partnerships with names like Hoka, On and Nike.
&#8220;These brands, together with its private label portfolio (~13% of sales), have allowed the company to bridge the gap between performance and lifestyle. Dick&#8217;s also continues to elevate and modernize its omnichannel capabilities and roll out new and exciting store concepts, like House of Sport and Field House, making it the go-to destination for all things athletic,&#8221; Feldman said.

What's Going On With Dick's Sporting Goods Stock Wednesday?

One year after placing a record-shattering $52 billion order, Emirates Airlines voiced frustration with Boeing (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BA#NYSE">BA</a>) over delays in <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/aviation">aircraft deliveries</a>.
"We're a frustrated entity because we need airplanes, and we need them now," Emirates President Sir Tim Clark <a href="https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/business/2024/11/27/emirates-frustrated-with-boeing-as-777x-delays-slow-growth/">told </a>BNN Bloomberg, extending his criticism to Airbus. He blamed both plane makers for being late and providing aircraft that didn't meet his specifications.
Boeing did not immediately respond to Benzinga&#8217;s request for comment.
Clark, who announced the deal at the 2023 Dubai Air Show, expressed uncertainty about when the first 205 Boeing 777X aircraft will finally enter service, as this flagship model is currently five years behind schedule.
Boeing's operational challenges have increased over the years, drawing significant attention after a door plug blew out on an Alaska Airlines 737 MAX flight in January.

Eventually, the company appointed Kelly Ortberg as CEO in August, following his tenure as the leader of Collins Aerospace. Since taking the helm, Ortberg has focused on resolving production bottlenecks, dedicating substantial time to Seattle's manufacturing facilities.
However, a seven-week strike involving 33,000 workers halted most jet production, reducing September deliveries to just 27 737 MAX aircraft, far below the 38 allowed by regulators.
Although management has reached a strike-ending deal, the union failed to reach one of its main goals—the reinstatement of a traditional pension plan that was frozen a year ago. Per HR Brew's <a href="https://www.hr-brew.com/stories/2024/11/01/boeing-and-union-leadership-reach-a-deal-to-end-the-strike-but-will-the-lack-of-a-traditional-pension-kill-it">report</a>, analysts estimated such a deal could cost Boeing over $1.6 billion annually—a sum that the company with negative shareholder equity and over $57 billion in debt cannot afford.
In fact, Boeing still needs to undergo a significant overhaul. To manage financial strain and improve operational efficiency, it will <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/global/24/11/42052735/boeing-to-lay-off-over-2500-workers-in-the-us-amid-global-workforce-reduction">cut its global workforce by 10%</a>, totaling 17,000 jobs, including 2,500 in the U.S.
Despite the setbacks, Clark remains cautiously optimistic about Boeing's turnaround under Ortberg&#8217;s leadership, though he stressed the need for visible improvement soon. The delays have forced Emirates to invest $4 billion to upgrade its current fleet of A380s and older 777 jets, bridging the gap until new aircraft arrive.
