All of the excitement surrounding potential leaks comes as Rockstar Games gears up to release the second trailer for GTA 6 on Oct. 4. 
The game itself is expected to be released in the fall of 2025, as announced in the<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/gaming/23/12/36119465/gta-6-trailer-breaks-records-surpasses-108-million-views-in-less-than-48-hours-outshining-predeces"> first trailer</a> for the highly-anticipated game. 
The original trailer set a 24-hour viewership record for YouTube video game reveals and had more than 100 million views within 48 hours. Interestingly enough, the first trailer leaked a day ahead of its planned release.

GTA 6 may very well be the most anticipated video game release of all time, but not for X owner Elon Musk.
In an X post from late 2023 shortly after the first GTA 6 trailer was released, Musk noted that he once tried to play the game, but &#8220;didn&#8217;t like doing crime.&#8221;

&#8220;The decision to delay GTA 4 was made four months or so before the original release date,&#8221; Vermeij explained. "Any further and it&#8217;s hard to make the call. Rockstar is probably not in a position to determine whether they will hit 2025 until May-ish."
If Rockstar were to follow a similar decision-making timeline for GTA 6, a decision on delaying the game could come as late as mid-2025, about four months before its expected fall release. This would mean that players won't know if GTA 6 will make the 2025 window until sometime around May of that year.
