Bank of America (BofA) Securities updated the earnings model for Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/PFE#NYSE">PFE</a>). The company&nbsp;will announce second-quarter 2025 <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/06/b46095809/pfizer-invites-public-to-view-and-listen-to-webcast-of-august-5-conference-call-with-analysts" rel="noreferrer noopener">earnings on August 5</a>.
According to data from <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pro/feature/newsfeed" rel="noreferrer noopener">Benzinga Pro</a>, analysts estimate adjusted earnings of 57 cents per share on sales of $13.41 billion.
In the second quarter, total revenue decreased by less than 1%, and earnings per share remained unchanged.
Analysts also expect revenue and EPS to stay within 1% of previous forecasts. Revenue will likely decline by a low single-digit percentage in the latter part of the 2020s, they say. This is mainly due to Vyndaqel and Ibrance&#8217;s earlier-than-expected loss of exclusivity.

EPS is also expected to shift up or down by a low single-digit percentage, depending on the year.
BofA maintains the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/PFE/analyst-ratings" rel="noreferrer noopener">price forecast of $27</a> with a Neutral rating using a 9x P/E multiple on updated 2025 EPS.
Pfizer&#8217;s stock is trading at a price-to-earnings ratio of about 8–9 times its expected 2025 earnings. That&#8217;s lower than the peer average of around 12 times, excluding Eli Lilly &amp; Co (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/LLY#NYSE">LLY</a>).
It also offers a high dividend yield of around 7%, which may help prevent the share price from falling further. However, the long-term outlook is less certain due to upcoming patent expirations and increased competition, which could result in slower-than-average growth.
Pfizer expects its 2025 sales to decline by about $1 billion due to changes under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) Part D reform. The company anticipates a $500 million increase in revenue from more patients using its drugs, thanks to lower out-of-pocket costs. However, this is offset by a $1.5 billion loss due to increased costs in the catastrophic phase of Medicare Part D.
Cheaper options (i.e. Eliquis) may benefit from certain reforms more than expensive drugs because the coverage gap is being removed.
In the first quarter of 2025, Pfizer says it already felt a negative impact of around $650 million compared to the same period in 2024, due to higher discount requirements for drugmakers.
Price Action: PFE stock is down 0.64% at $25.49 at the last check on Monday.

What To Know: The move comes after weeks of speculation following reports that Autodesk was considering a major cash-and-stock deal for the industrial software firm. Investors reacted positively to the decision, reversing some of the pressure that had weighed on Autodesk stock since the initial reports surfaced.
Shares of Autodesk had fallen over 10% since July 8, the day before <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-07-14/autodesk-is-said-to-drop-pursuit-of-software-firm-ptc?srnd=technology-ai&amp;embedded-checkout=true">Bloomberg </a>reported that the company was exploring a potential acquisition of PTC. The proposed deal would have ranked among the largest in the software sector this year, potentially reshaping Autodesk&#8217;s strategic direction. On Friday, Autodesk shares closed at $280.39, giving the company a market value of around $60 billion. PTC's market capitalization stands at roughly $23.2 billion.
In a regulatory filing on Monday, Autodesk confirmed that it would remain focused on its existing strategic priorities. These include investing in its core business, pursuing smaller targeted acquisitions, and continuing its share repurchase program. The company made no mention of PTC or any other acquisition targets in the filing, signaling that it intends to stick with its organic growth plans rather than pursuing large-scale deals.
PTC, founded in the 1980s, specializes in software that supports manufacturers in designing complex products such as aircraft, electronics, and medical devices. A deal between Autodesk and PTC would have marked a significant consolidation in the industrial software space, a sector expected to grow with the rising adoption of artificial intelligence. However, Autodesk's decision to walk away suggests that the company is opting to prioritize financial discipline and shareholder returns over high-risk acquisitions.

What To Know: On Thursday, Hegseth issued a directive allowing military commanders at the rank of colonel or Navy captain and above to independently purchase and test small drones—specifically Group 1 and 2 unmanned aircraft systems.
Furthermore, the order reclassifies these drones as "consumable weapons," removing them from traditional aircraft tracking systems and accelerating the deployment of emerging tech, including 3D-printed and off-the-shelf models.

The acquisition pushes Strategy's total holdings to 601,550 BTC, acquired for roughly $42.87 billion at an average price of $71,268 per Bitcoin. 
The announcement comes amid Bitcoin's recent surge past $122,000, underscoring Strategy's aggressive buy-the-dip approach that now spans across more than three years and multiple bull-bear cycles.
What makes this purchase noteworthy isn't just the size, but the source of the funds: Strategy financed the latest acquisition using proceeds from four concurrent at-the-market (ATM) equity offerings, including its common stock and three series of preferred shares (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/STRK#NASDAQ">STRK</a>), (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/STRF#NASDAQ">STRF</a>) and (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/STRD#NASDAQ">STRD</a>).
