Flint, Michigan&#8217;s <a href="https://lightnupcannabis.com/">Light'N Up Cannabis Company</a> is helping local families in need celebrate Thanksgiving with its annual give away of 1,000 turkeys this past Saturday.
"Once you get something like this started, it takes on a life of its own and is more fun and more rewarding each year," said Light'N Up founder Kyle Cohee.
"We've been through some tough times here in Flint, and people deserve every single break we can provide," he said. "Giving them the central part of a Thanksgiving meal is our honor and our way of thanking the people of Flint for supporting our store."
The veteran-owned business set aside 300 of the 1,308 turkeys for Vet Life, a local nonprofit serving veterans. Another eight turkeys went to the North End Soup Kitchen and area churches to help others in need.
Country music artist and veteran advocate Stephen Cochran joined the event, adding to the day's community spirit.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Cannabis-Infused Thanksgiving In Arizona</h3>
Meanwhile, in Arizona, Mint Café, the state's first and only canna-kitchen, is putting a unique twist on Thanksgiving dinner. 
According to WDRB, the dispensary is offering a selection of cannabis-infused dishes, including THC-infused gravy, cranberry sauce, garlic herb butter and cornbread. For dessert, customers can choose between pumpkin and pecan pies, also infused with THC.
These special menu items will be available to adults 21 and older, providing an alternative way to enjoy a Thanksgiving feast.

<h1 class="wp-block-heading">Don't Forget Those Others You Promised To Pardon</h1>
It's been over two years since&nbsp;<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/joe-biden" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Biden</a>&#8216;s announcement to pardon all prior federal offenses&nbsp;<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cannabis/22/10/29175510/breaking-biden-announces-pardons-for-all-federal-marijuana-possession-convictions" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">of simple marijuana possession</a>. It must be pointed out that not one single person among the approximately 3,000 people incarcerated for federal cannabis offenses has been released.
To remedy that situation, the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/last-prisoner-project" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Last Prisoner Project</a>&nbsp;(LPP) has a great idea for the soon-to-be-retired president: release those prisoners immediately. 
In its People Not Poultry project, the LPP is calling on Biden to free the thousands of non-violent cannabis prisoners still incarcerated for offenses that are now legal in more than half the country. Last week, the LPP joined a chorus of advocates and over 60 Congress members in&nbsp;<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cannabis/24/11/42122853/67-lawmakers-urge-biden-to-grant-clemency-to-people-still-in-jail-for-cannabis-offenses">sending a letter</a>&nbsp;to Biden seeking clemency so families can be reunited for the holidays.
In a press conference on the capitol steps, LPP Director of Strategic Initiatives Jason Ortiz, said, "Sadly, as of today, President Biden has given freedom to more turkeys than he has to people [incarcerated for cannabis]. This is a gross injustice and an injustice that President Biden can correct with a stroke of a&nbsp;pen."&nbsp;

&#8220;But time is running out for President Biden to use this power effectively," LPP wrote in a press statement shared with Benzinga in October. &#8220;As President Biden approaches the final months of his presidency, he has the unique opportunity to correct the injustices of the War on Drugs that he once helped champion. By commuting the sentences of those still incarcerated for cannabis, he can take a bold stand for justice, equity and healing.&#8221;

Legendary investor Warren Buffett has announced new charitable donations and updates to how his fortune will be spent after he is gone, news that comes months after he turned<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/education/24/08/40652464/warren-buffett-celebrates-94th-birthday-with-1-trillion-market-cap-milestone-a-look-back-at-hig"> 94 years old.</a>
What Happened: Buffett announced Monday that he is converting 1,600 Berkshire Hathaway Class A (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BRK#NYSE">BRK</a>) shares into 2,400,000 Berkshire Hathaway Class B (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BRK#NYSE">BRK</a>) shares to make new donations as part of his<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/startups/24/11/41866296/with-warren-buffett-donating-99-of-his-fortune-whats-left-for-his-three-children-well-its-complicated"> continued philanthropic efforts.</a>
Buffett is donating 1,500,000 Class B shares to The Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation and 300,000 shares to each of The Sherwood Foundation, The Howard G. Buffett Foundation and NoVo Foundation.
After the latest donation, Buffett will own 206,363 Class A shares, down 56.6% since his 2006 Giving Pledge.
Buffett recalled his belief and his late wife Susie's belief to support their children and philanthropic efforts in a new shareholder <a href="https://www.berkshirehathaway.com/news/nov2524.pdf">letter</a>.
"These bequests reflected our belief that hugely wealth parents should leave their children enough so they can do anything but not enough that they can do nothing," Buffett said. "Susie and I had long encouraged our children in small philanthropic activities and had been pleased with their enthusiasm, diligence and results."
Buffett said he is lucky to have lived as long as he has, while also recognizing his current age and the age of his children who are 71, 69 and 66.
"Father time always wins. But he can be fickle — indeed unfair and even cruel — sometimes ending life at birth or soon thereafter while, at other times, waiting a century or so before paying a visit."
Buffett said he never wished to create a family dynasty and trusts his children to pursue his wishes to continue philanthropic donations, along with successor trustees younger than his children.
"As such, three potential successor trustees have been designated. Each is well known to my children and makes sense to all of us."

Why It's Important: Buffett said friends question his strategies for donating his wealth and the instructions left for his children.
"I have one further suggestion for all parents, whether they are of modest or staggering wealth. When your children are mature, have them read your will before they sign it," Buffett said.
Buffett said it's important that children understand the logic of decisions and any responsibilities that they will take on after your death.
"You don't want your children asking "Why?" in respect to testamentary decisions when you are no longer able to respond."
Buffett recalls his life's success and early confidence that he could become rich.
"By not stepping on any banana peels, I now remain in circulation at 94 with huge sums in savings — call these units of deferred consumption — that can be passed along to others who were given a very short straw at birth."
The legendary investor said he lived his life the way he wanted by taking good care of his family and passing on wealth to others.
"With this philosophy, I have lived the way I wanted to live since my late 20s, and I have now watched my children grow into good and productive citizens."

Minnesota&#8217;s journey toward a recreational cannabis market hit a roadblock Monday when a local judge delayed the state's first lottery for cannabis business licenses.

Judge Stephen Smith ordered the state's Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) to postpone the Tuesday lottery for social equity applicants. The delay aims to provide the Court of Appeals time to address legal challenges raised by the rejected applicants.
The lottery is set to grant 282 social equity applicants pre-approval for cannabis business licenses. This move may impact the timeline for launching Minnesota's retail cannabis market.

The OCM cited failures to meet qualifying standards or submit proper documentation as reasons for rejection. However, rejected applicants argue the process lacked transparency and clarity.
Attorney Courtney Ernston, representing one of the plaintiffs, criticized the vague nature of rejection notices. "Simply saying the word ‘fail' is not a reason," Ernston said, adding that her client received no detailed explanation for her exclusion. Applicants and their legal representatives contend that the lack of transparency undermines their ability to contest or correct the rejections.

A major legal battle looms for Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/META#NASDAQ">META</a>) as the company prepares for an April trial, announced Monday, to face allegations from the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) over its acquisitions of <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/meta">Instagram and WhatsApp.</a>
The FTC claims Meta strategically acquired the platforms in 2012 and 2014 to suppress competition in the social media space, accusations the company strongly denies, Reuters reports.
