Memorandum aims to integrate IonQ's quantum technology into South Korea's high-performance computing infrastructure, fueling R&amp;D, talent development, and ecosystem growth.
IonQ (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/IONQ#NYSE">IONQ</a>), a leading commercial quantum computing and networking company, today announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI), a leading national science and technology research institute and supercomputing center. The memorandum marks a significant expansion of IonQ's long standing relationship with South Korea's government, academic and industry sectors, aligning efforts intended to accelerate the national development of quantum science and industry.
Under the terms of the MoU, IonQ and KISTI will collaborate in four key areas: advanced infrastructure access, education, talent and knowledge exchange as well as collaboration to expand market opportunities. The two organizations will work together with the intent to introduce quantum systems into KISTI and plan to integrate these systems with KISTI's high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure.
IonQ and KISTI also plan to collaborate on joint initiatives for talent upskilling including internships and training programs to strengthen the quantum computing research community in South Korea.

The collaboration will also include Cisco, offering its zero-trust security and AI-ready connectivity, SoftBank Group, and Nvidia, which will supply the latest Nvidia Grace Blackwell GB300 systems.
The first 200-megawatt AI cluster will likely go live in 2026. Stargate UAE will accelerate scientific discovery and drive innovation across industries ranging from healthcare and energy to finance and transportation, fueling future economic growth and national development.
The full UAE–U.S. AI infrastructure campus, which spans 10 square miles, is the largest such deployment outside the U.S. It will provide 5 gigawatts of AI data center capacity and regional compute resources.

Japanese government-bond yields are surging, and veteran Société Générale strategist Albert Edwards says the move could yank the rug from under U.S. stocks and Treasurys, warning of a potential "global financial-market Armageddon."
What Happened: "Both the U.S. Treasury and equity markets are vulnerable, having been inflated by Japanese flows of funds," Edwards wrote in a client note <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/stock-market-crash-global-financial-market-armageddon-yen-carry-trade-2025-5">carried</a> by Business Insider, adding that an unwind of the yen carry trade could create "a loud sucking sound in U.S. financial assets."
&#8220;I would rank trying to understand and follow the surging long end of the JGB market as the number 1 most important thing for investors at the moment,&#8221; Edwards added.
Long-dated Japanese yields have blasted through multi-year highs after a string of weak debt auctions and the Bank of Japan's decision to let its vast bond holdings run off. The 40-year JGB now pays almost 3.7%, while the benchmark 10-year yield hovers near 1.53%, its loftiest level since 2011, reveals Reuters.
Japan is still the single-largest foreign holder of U.S. Treasurys, with about $1.13 trillion on its books. For decades, Japanese investors borrowed cheaply in yen and plowed the cash into higher-yielding U.S. debt and stocks, a strategy known as the carry trade. If rising JGB payouts lure that money home, demand for Treasurys could dry up just as Washington faces a record <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/05/45399783/gordon-johnson-warns-of-potential-liberation-day-20-as-30-year-treasury-yields-approach-5-amid-dollar-weakness">$8 trillion in refinancing needs</a> this year.

Japan Bonds Surge Sparks Wall Street Bear's Warning Of 'Global Armageddon,' Calls JGB Long End 'Most Important Thing' For Investors To Track

The Goodyear Tire &amp; Rubber Company (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GT#NASDAQ">GT</a>) on Thursday disclosed a deal to divest the majority of its <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/05/n45575257/goodyear-announces-sale-of-chemical-business">Goodyear Chemical business</a> to Gemspring Capital Management, LLC.
As per the terms of its divestiture, Gemspring Capital will acquire Goodyear Chemical for around $650 million in cash at closing, pending customary post-closing adjustments.
The acquisition covers two operational plants in Houston and Beaumont, Texas, along with a research and development center in Akron, Ohio.

Goodyear will maintain ownership of its Chemical facilities in Niagara Falls, New York, and Bayport, Texas, as well as the rights to the products manufactured at those sites.
Goodyear Chemical, a major synthetic rubber manufacturer with a diverse product range in North America, serves markets including automotive aftermarket, consumer, and industrial sectors.
This transaction stems from a strategic review of the Chemical business, undertaken as part of Goodyear&#8217;s Forward transformation plan.
The transaction is expected to close by late 2025, pending regulatory approval and other customary closing conditions.
Goodyear plans to use the proceeds from the sale to reduce its debt and fund key initiatives under its Goodyear Forward transformation strategy.
Mathew Wallace, managing director at Gemspring, stated, &#8220;Goodyear Chemical is an industry leader, underpinned by deep customer relationships, a mission-critical product portfolio, a track record of innovation, and incredibly talented employees.&#8221;

Goodyear Offloads Chemical Business To Reduce Debt, Fund Growth

Elon Musk's Space exploration company SpaceX was handed a major boost by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration or FAA as SpaceX's Texas Starship launch was approved by the agency.
What Happened: Following the approval, the launch could take place as soon as May 27, 2025, depending on weather and SpaceX's preparations, from the company's launch site in Texas, Reuters reported on Thursday.
The agency has redrawn hazard zones for the rocket's flight path, which had experienced back-to-back failures earlier this year, from 800 nautical miles to 1,600 nautical miles, the report suggests.
Debris from the 400-foot-tall rocket's previous launches had fallen over Turks and Caicos as well as parts of the Caribbean. The FAA said it&#8217;s working closely with the UK, Mexico, the Bahamas, Cuba, and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
"With the Starship vehicle return to flight determination, Starship Flight 9 is authorized for launch, the FAA finds SpaceX meets all of the rigorous safety, environmental and other licensing requirements," the agency said in its statement.
Why It Matters: Starship's approval comes in when Musk has been pushing for more progress and innovation in the sector in his pursuit to set up a colony on Mars. Recently, <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/startups/25/05/45480331/elon-musk-says-earth-only-has-10-of-its-life-left-before-its-incinerated-by-the-sun-calls-colonizing-mars-humanitys-life-insurance-polic">the billionaire shared</a> how "Earth only has about 10% more life in it before it gets so hot that life is impossible."
SpaceX had <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/05/45249164/elon-musks-mars-ambitions-take-flight-as-spacex-gets-faa-approval-for-texas-starship-launches">previously gotten approval</a> from the FAA to scale up Starship launches by the FAA from 5 to 25. However, the agency had laid down some conditions for the company to follow.
The news comes in as NASA has faced over $6 billion in budget cuts from the Trump administration, as President Donald Trump's <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/space/25/04/44730104/trumps-nasa-chief-pick-isaacman-tells-senate-we-will-prioritize-sending-american-astronauts-to-mars">pick to lead the agency </a>also shares Musk's Mars ambitions.

OnlyFans owner Fenix International Ltd is negotiating a potential $8 billion sale to an investor group led by Los Angeles-based Forest Road Company, marking a significant valuation milestone for the content subscription platform that has transformed from a $375 million revenue company in 2020 to a $6.6 billion powerhouse by 2023.
What Happened: The London-based company has been in active discussions since March with multiple potential buyers, including the Forest Road-led consortium. The talks could conclude within the next two weeks, though no deal is guaranteed, Reuters reported, citing sources. 
Forest Road Company, founded in 2017, focuses on media, renewable energy, and digital assets investments, having previously expanded through acquisitions including ACF Investment Bank in 2024.
The platform&#8217;s explosive growth trajectory—revenue jumping from $375 million to $6.6 billion over three years—has attracted significant investor interest despite operational challenges. OnlyFans operates on a 20% commission model from creator earnings. 
OnlyFans did not immediately respond to <a href="http://pro.benzinga.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Benzinga</a>'s request for comment.
