Cowen notes this pattern has occurred consistently in recent years. Bitcoin found local bottoms around death cross events in 2023, 2022, and even 2019.
The key question is whether the current rally will lead to a higher or a lower high, similar to what happened in 2019 when Bitcoin rallied after a death cross but eventually made a slightly lower low before establishing a double bottom and beginning a more substantial uptrend.

For investors concerned about further downside, Cowen identifies the range between the 2021 high and the 2024 high as critical support that would need to hold for the current cycle to remain intact.

 &#8220;For the markets, it&#8217;s not even the tariffs that are the biggest deal, it&#8217;s the uncertainty around them,&#8221; Cowen stated.

He warns against panic selling after significant drops and then buying back during counter-trend rallies. This can lead to poor results.

Under this agreement, Parsons will compete for task orders to deliver environmental services such as restoration, compliance, conservation, and planning. The work will support U.S. Air Force installations worldwide and other federal agencies, including the Defense Logistics Agency and NASA.

The work includes rapid disease detection and global pathogen surveillance, with a one-year base period and four one-year option periods.

Cara&#39;s common stock is expected to begin trading on a reverse stock split-adjusted basis at the opening of the market on&nbsp;Wednesday, April 16, 2025 under the new name &quot;Tvardi Therapeutics, Inc.&quot; and under the new symbol &quot;TVRD&quot; following the anticipated closing of the merger (the &quot;Merger&quot;) with Tvard Therapeutics, Inc. (&quot;Tvardi&quot;), with a new CUSIP number 140755 307.
The reverse stock split was approved by Cara&#39;s stockholders at Cara&#39;s special meeting of stockholders held on April 1, 2025, to be effected in the Board&#39;s discretion of not less than 1-for-2 and not more than 1-for-4. The final reverse stock split ratio of 1-for-3 was approved by the Board on April 1, 2025 and will become effective as of 4:01 p.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
At the effective time of the reverse stock split, every three (3) issued and outstanding shares of the Company&#39;s common stock will automatically be combined into one (1) issued and outstanding share of the Company&#39;s common stock without any change in the par value per share. The reverse stock split will reduce the number of issued and outstanding shares of the Company&#39;s common stock from approximately 4.6 million to approximately 1.5 million (prior to giving effect to the closing of the Merger). The reverse stock split will not change the authorized number of shares of Cara&#39;s common stock.
Fractional shares will not be issued in connection with the reverse stock split. Stockholders who would otherwise be entitled to receive a fractional share will be entitled to receive a cash payment. The reverse stock split will affect all stockholders uniformly and will not alter any stockholder&#39;s relative interest in the Company&#39;s equity securities, except for any adjustments for fractional shares.
In addition, proportionate adjustments will be made to the number of shares underlying, and the exercise or conversion prices of, the Company&#39;s outstanding stock options, and to the number of shares of common stock issuable under the Company&#39;s equity incentive plans.
Following the closing of the Merger, the combined company&#39;s total outstanding common stock is expected to be approximately 9.4 million shares.

Shares of Newmont Corporation (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NEM#NYSE">NEM</a>) are trading flat Monday. The company&#8217;s stock moved significantly higher last week due to the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/04/44786768/gold-boom-sets-up-intriguing-clash-for-direxions-gold-miners-2x-bull-and-bear-funds">recent boom in gold.</a>
There is a chance the move higher resumes. And if it does, there is also a chance it ends or stalls around the $58.00 level. This is why it is our Stock of the Day.
Resistance is a price level or zone where there is a large amount of sell interest. If a market is trending higher, there aren't enough sell orders to fill all the buy orders. Traders and investors who want to purchase shares are forced to outbid each other.
This price action can force the shares into an uptrend.
But when a stock reaches resistance, the dynamic changes. There are enough or more than enough shares for sale to fill all of the buy orders. This is why rallies can end or pause when they reach resistance.
One of the main reasons resistance forms in markets is buyer's remorse. This happens when a person regrets buying a stock if the price drops afterward.

Sometimes, these regretful buyers decide to hold onto their losing positions. But they also decide that if they can eventually get out at breakeven, they will. As a result, if the price eventually rallies back to their buy price, they place sell orders.
As you can see on the chart, the last time Newmont reached the $58.00 level, it hit resistance and reversed.

There are people who bought then who have been waiting to get out. So, if Newmont makes it back to this price they will be placing sell orders. If there is a large amount of these orders, it could create resistance there again.
You can also see on the chart that after Newmont reversed off $58.00, it gapped and made a rapid move lower down to around $48.00. Because it moved so quickly through these levels, there wasn't enough time for a large concentration of buyers to form.
This means that now that the stock has reversed back to these prices but is coming in the opposite direction, there isn't a large group of remorseful buyers trying to sell on the way up.
This means buyers have had to be aggressive and push the price higher to draw sellers off the sidelines. This is why the shares are gapping up.
There is a good chance this move higher will continue. But there is also a good chance it ends, or at least pauses, if it reaches levels around $58.00.
