AV, through its wholly owned subsidiary Telerob, has been awarded a significant contract to deliver 41 large-sized advanced EOD/IED uncrewed ground vehicles (UGV) to the German Federal Armed Forces. Initial deliveries are scheduled for summer 2025, with additional orders extending through 2027.
Following a rigorous competitive procurement process, the telemax&#x2122; HT300 UGV was selected to meet the German Armed Forces' evolving requirements for explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) and counter-IED missions. Purpose-built for high-risk operations in complex terrain, the HT300 offers an advanced manipulator arm, exceptional traction, and mobility across uneven, unstable, and shifting surfaces.
"This award marks a major milestone in Telerob's 30-year legacy of innovation and trusted performance," said Florian Gruener, Managing Director of Telerob and Product Line General Manager for Uncrewed Ground Vehicles. AeroVironment Posts Downbeat Results, Joins Box, CrowdStrike And Other Big Stocks Moving Lower In Wednesday's Pre-Market Session

U.S. stock futures were advancing on Wednesday following Tuesday&#8217;s selloff. Futures of all four benchmark indices rose in premarket trading.
A trade war between major U.S. trading partners escalated on Tuesday as President Donald Trump imposed new tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China. Canada and China swiftly retaliated with their tariffs on U.S. goods, mounting tensions and raising fears of a global economic slowdown.
During his joint address to Congress on Tuesday evening, Trump reiterated that &#8220;Tariffs are about making America rich again and making America great again. And it's happening. And it will happen rather quickly. There'll be a little disturbance, but we're okay with that.&#8221;
Meanwhile, the 10-year Treasury yield stood at 4.25%, while the two-year yield was at 3.98%. According to the CME Group's FedWatch <a href="https://www.cmegroup.com/markets/interest-rates/cme-fedwatch-tool.html">tool</a>, there is a 93% chance that the Federal Reserve will keep interest rates unchanged for the March meeting.

The SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF Trust (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SPY#NYSE">SPY</a>) and Invesco QQQ Trust ETF (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/QQQ#NASDAQ">QQQ</a>), which track the S&amp;P 500 index and Nasdaq 100 index, respectively, rose in premarket on Wednesday. Cues From The Last Session
Information technology was the only sector that was just above the flatline on Tuesday, while the market witnessed another day of fall led by financials, industrials, consumer staples, utilities, and consumer discretionary sectors. S&amp;P 500 declined 6% on Tuesday from its previous 52-week high of 6,147.43 points. 
The market erased its post-election gains after Trump confirmed a 25% levy on Canada and Mexico and an additional 10% tariff on China. He further stated during his Congress address that reciprocal tariffs will take effect April 2nd onwards.
Crowdstrike Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/CRWD#NASDAQ">CRWD</a>) issued a disappointing earnings forecast despite beating the fourth quarter estimates, Target Corp. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TGT#NYSE">TGT</a>) and Best Buy Co. Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BBY#NYSE">BBY</a>) also tanked on weaker than estimated outlook.

Insights From Analysts
As the tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and additional duties on China went live, Brian Therien, investment strategist at Edward Jones said that the eventual impact on inflation could be partially offset by currency exchange rates if the U.S. dollar strengthens relative to other currencies, making imported products less expensive.
&#8220;In addition, manufacturers may not be willing or able to fully pass along tariffs to customers, narrowing profit margins, which can also help mitigate price increases. The economic effect of tariffs could also be partially offset by pro-growth policies, such as tax cuts and deregulation,&#8221; he added.
However, economist Craig Shapiro argued that U.S. attempts to raise tariffs could be counterproductive as the dollar value may decline.
&#8220;As the Trump administration elevates the trade war with tariffs, perhaps the best defense the rest of the world has against him is simply selling their U.S. assets, taking their ball and going home,&#8221; he said.
Economist Peter Schiff also bashed tariffs saying that it was not the way to rebuild America&#8217;s manufacturing base and the competitiveness of the American industry needed to be restored. According to him, it required &#8220;higher interest rates, reduced consumption, lower asset prices, and a severe recession in the short run.&#8221;

As S&amp;P 500 slid nearly 6% from its previous high on Feb. 19, Ryan Detrick of Carson Research noted that the correction was &#8220;mild&#8221;. He cited 2023 as an example and said, &#8220;it had one 5% mild correction and one 10% correction.&#8221;

Q3 Earnings: AeroVironment reported third-quarter revenue of $167.6 million, missing estimates of $196.37 million, according to <a href="http://pro.benzinga.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Benzinga Pro</a>. The company reported third-quarter adjusted earnings of 30 cents per share, missing analyst <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/calendars/earnings">estimates</a> of 63 cents per share. 
Total revenue was down 10% year-over-year, reflecting lower product sales and service revenue. AeroVironment reported a $3.1 million loss from operations in the third quarter. The company said it had a record funded backlog of $763.5 million as of Jan. 25.
&#8220;We faced a number of short-term challenges in the&nbsp;third quarter, including the unprecedented high winds and fires in Southern California, which impacted our ability to meet our goals,&#8221; said&nbsp;Wahid Nawabi, chairman, president and CEO of AeroVironment.

Outlook: AeroVironment lowered its full-year outlook. The company now expects full-year 2025 revenue of $780 million to $795 million, down from a prior outlook of $790 million to $820 million. AeroVironment now expects full-year adjusted earnings of $2.92 to $3.13 per share, down from a prior outlook of $3.18 to $3.49 per share. 
Analysts are looking for full-year revenue of $821.4 million and earnings of $3.45 per share. The revised guidance appears to be sparking a selloff in shares after hours. 
Management is currently discussing the quarter on a conference call that started at 4:30 p.m. ET.

<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/03/44102599/canadian-pm-justin-trudeau-retaliates-with-25-tariffs-on-us-goods-amid-escalating-trade-war">Affected countries</a> announced retaliatory measures, further dampening investor sentiment.
China announced retaliatory tariffs of up to 15% on certain U.S. products, including chicken, wheat, corn, and cotton. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau declared that Canada would impose a 25% tariff on U.S. goods. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum stated that Mexico would respond with tariffs and other measures, to be announced on Sunday.
The yield on the US 10-year Treasury note fell to 4.13% on Tuesday, its lowest level since October 2024. Markets are now pricing in three quarter-point rate cuts by the Federal Reserve in 2025, according to data from CME FedWatch. The iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TLT#NASDAQ">TLT</a>) slipped 0.58%. 
Natural gas futures rose more than 8% on Tuesday, above $4.45/MMBtu, the highest since December 2022. Stockpiles remain below the five-year average due to earlier extreme cold in the U.S. while LNG export flows have reached record levels. The United States Natural Gas Fund LP (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/UNG#NYSE">UNG</a>) ETF climbed 8.5%.&nbsp;
