The luxury fashion company reported&nbsp;sales growth of&nbsp;8%&nbsp;year-on-year (Y/Y) to&nbsp;$1.70 billion, beating the analyst&nbsp;consensus estimate of&nbsp;$1.64 billion. Adjusted EPS of&nbsp;$2.27 beat the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/earnings" rel="noreferrer noopener">consensus estimate of&nbsp;$2.00</a>.
Revenue in North America increased by&nbsp;6%&nbsp;Y/Y to&nbsp;$705&nbsp;million,&nbsp;Europe jumped&nbsp;by&nbsp;12%&nbsp;Y/Y to&nbsp;$526&nbsp;million, and&nbsp;Asia climbed by&nbsp;9% Y/Y&nbsp;to&nbsp;$432&nbsp;million.

Global direct-to-consumer comparable store sales increased&nbsp;13% Y/Y in the quarter.
Gross profit was&nbsp;$1.2&nbsp;billion, with a gross margin of&nbsp;68.6%. Adjusted gross margin was also&nbsp;68.6%, 200&nbsp;basis points above the prior year.
Operating margin was&nbsp;9.1%, and operating income&nbsp;for the quarter&nbsp;stood at&nbsp;$155 million.&nbsp;The adjusted&nbsp;operating margin was&nbsp;10.3%, which is 160&nbsp;basis points above the prior year.
Ralph Lauren generated $1.24 billion in operating cash flow and held&nbsp;$1.92 billion&nbsp;in cash and equivalents&nbsp;as of March 29, 2025, compared to $1.07 billion and $1.67 billion in the year-ago quarter.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Quarterly And Annual Outlook</h2>
On a constant currency basis, the company projects revenue growth of around <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/calendars/guidance" rel="noreferrer noopener">single digits for the first quarter</a> compared to the same period last year.
For FY26, Ralph Lauren anticipates revenue growth in the low-single digits compared to the previous year on a constant currency basis, with most of this growth expected to occur in the first half of the fiscal year.
RL said that based on the current assessment of tariff rates, gross margin is expected to be approximately flat in constant currency, with AUR growth, reduced cotton costs and favorable geographic and channel mix offsetting the negative impact of increased tariffs and non-cotton material costs. Based on current exchange rates, foreign currency is expected to have a relatively minimal impact on revenue and gross and operating margins in Fiscal 2026.

What To Know: Lumen announced the sales of its fiber-to-the-home business to AT&amp;T (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/T#NYSE">T</a>) for $5.75 billion in cash. The company&#8217;s network consists of about 1 million fiber customers and reaches more than 4 million fiber locations across 11 U.S. states.
The transaction supports AT&amp;T&#8217;s plans to extend its fiber network to reach about 60 million total fiber locations by year-end 2030.
The deal excludes Lumen's enterprise fiber and copper-based customers. AT&amp;T will place the acquired assets into a new subsidiary called&nbsp;NetworkCo, which it plans to partially sell to an equity partner within a year of closing.
&#8220;We&#8217;re leading the race to connect more Americans with fiber, the best broadband connectivity technology available,&#8221; said&nbsp;John Stankey, Chairman and CEO, AT&amp;T. 
&#8220;This deal with Lumen represents a significant investment in U.S. connectivity infrastructure that will create jobs and spur economic activity in numerous regions and major metro areas across 11 states.&#8221;
The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2026.

Jiuzi Holdings (JZXN) Stock Swings Amid Bitcoin Acquisition Plan

Diversified global miner Rio Tinto (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/RIO#NYSE">RIO</a>) is doubling down on direct lithium extraction (DLE) technology, with its investment in Chile&#8217;s Maricunga project. In partnership with Chile's state-owned Codelco, Rio Tinto is expected to invest <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/global/25/05/45513934/rio-tinto-expands-lithium-push-with-900-million-maricunga-deal">up to $900 million</a> into the lithium-rich salt flat, marking the country's most significant lithium development in years.
Unlike traditional evaporation ponds, which can take over a year and consume vast amounts of water, DLE uses chemical or mechanical processes to extract lithium directly from brine. It reduces land use and water consumption and can be deployed in arid regions where water is a critical resource.
Although touted as an industry changer, the method has yet to be proven and has not been commercially used in Chile.
"The ability to deliver at scale, efficiently and reliably will be a decisive factor in the project&#8217;s competitiveness and investor confidence," Nicole Porcile, a partner at mining consultancy Anagea, said, according to Reuters.
Rio Tinto is not alone in exploring DLE's potential. Through a joint venture between <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/legal/25/01/43024951/saudi-arabia-advances-lithium-plans-looks-beyond-oil-for-commodity-diversification">Aramco and Ma'aden</a>, Saudi Arabia plans to roll out DLE technology as part of its Vision 2030 strategy to reduce oil dependency. Meanwhile, Exxon Mobil is gearing up for DLE-based extraction in Arkansas' Smackover Formation, aiming to produce enough lithium to power <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/24/10/41495672/lithium-reserve-found-in-arkansas-with-help-from-ai-why-it-impacts-exxon-mobil">one million EVs annually by 2030</a>.
Canadian innovator Volt Lithium has been among the industry pioneers, exploring DLE in the oil production hotspot—the Permian Basin. Its founder and CEO, Alex Wylie, <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/commodities/24/06/39480795/exclusive-volt-lithium-ceo-touts-6b-cash-flow-opportunity">told</a> Benzinga last year about the steep learning curve in DLE development.
"One of the things we do is fail a lot. We build a pilot plant, we fail all the time, and there&#8217;s nothing like failing to succeed. Each failure allows us to change a step and improve,&#8221; he said.
It took multiple generations of extraction technology to produce battery-grade metal, which Wylie said costs them around $2,900 per ton. Volt continues testing in the Permian, pushing for efficient, scalable lithium production. Yet, its production price, which is far below the current market price of $8750 per ton (incomparable to the peak price of $79,600 per ton), shows the DLE's potential.
Rio Tinto&#8217;s DLE pilot at the Rincon project in Argentina gave it a competitive edge during Codelco's partner selection process. Still, scaling that technology to Chile's unique geological and environmental conditions poses challenges. "That&#8217;s certainly the goal: to develop and operate this in the most environmentally friendly manner possible," Porcile said.
Chilean President Gabriel Boric has supported DLE as a requirement for new lithium ventures, although he later softened the stance to allow traditional extraction in select projects. Nevertheless, the political push aligns with environmental and market pressures to innovate and secure cheaper and cleaner sources of this essential green energy transition metal.

<li>The S&amp;P Global services PMI climbed to 52.3 in May compared to 50.8 in the previous month.</li>
<li>The S&amp;P Global manufacturing PMI rose to 52.3 in May from 50.2 in April.</li>
<li>The Chicago Fed National Activity Index dipped to -0.25 in April compared to a revised reading of +0.03 in March.</li>
<li>U.S. initial jobless claims fell by 2,000 from the previous week to 227,000 in the week ending May 17, compared to market estimates of 230,000.</li>
