Grab Hldgs

Founded in 2012, Grab provides ride-sharing services, food and grocery delivery, and financial services (payments, consumer loans, and enterprise offerings) in eight Southeast-Asian countries through its mobile platform. The company partners with merchants and riders, connecting them with consumers while charging commission to both sides. Grab has a leading market share in and derives 89% of its revenue from its core businesses, ride-sharing and food delivery. Singapore and Malaysia contributed 58% of revenue as of end-2021. Grab's main competitors in Southeast Asia are Foodpanda and Gojek, the ride-sharing arm of GoTo. Its financial services business is still in its nascent stage and provides minimal revenue currently. The company now also generates advertising revenue.

Acquired hypothalamic obesity is&nbsp;a rare, non-genetic form of obesity resulting from damage to the hypothalamus, the brain region controlling energy balance, often caused by tumors, surgery, or radiation, leading to rapid weight gain <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/04/g44663146/rhythm-pharmaceuticals-announces-pivotal-phase-3-transcend-trial-meets-primary-endpoint-with-19-8-" rel="noreferrer noopener">and metabolic complications</a>.
The global trial met its primary endpoint with a statistically significant and clinically meaningful reduction in body mass index (BMI) with setmelanotide in adult and pediatric patients versus placebo.

Highlights from the topline data include:

<li>-19.8% placebo-adjusted difference in BMI reduction (N=120).</li>
<li>The primary endpoint of mean BMI reduction was -16.5% from baseline for all patients on setmelanotide therapy (n=81) compared with +3.3% BMI change for patients on placebo (n=39) at 52 weeks.</li>
<li>80% of patients on setmelanotide achieved a BMI reduction of 5% or greater at 52 weeks.</li>
<li>-19.2% placebo-adjusted BMI reduction was achieved in adult patients (n=49) and -20.2% in patients younger than 18 (n=71) at 52 weeks.</li>
</ul>
The company says the global Phase 3 TRANSCEND trial is believed to be the largest and longest placebo-controlled trial to evaluate therapy for patients with acquired hypothalamic obesity. The double-blinded, 52-week trial enrolled 120 patients.
Clinically meaningful improvements were observed across key secondary endpoints at week 52, including:
<ul>
<li>83% of patients on setmelanotide therapy achieved 5% or greater reduction in BMI (n=33 patients 18 or older) or BMI Z-score reduction of 0.2 or greater points (n=48 patients younger than 18).</li>
<li>-1.4 placebo-adjusted mean change in the weekly average of the daily maximal hunger score for patients 12 years old or older (n=81) (p=0.003).</li>
</ul>
No new safety signals with setmelanotide were observed, in line with setmelanotide&#8217;s well-established and well-understood safety profile. Consistent with prior clinical experience, setmelanotide was generally well tolerated in the TRANSCEND study.
The most common treatment-emergent adverse events (affecting &gt;20% of participants) were nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, injection site reaction, skin hyperpigmentation, and headache. No serious adverse events leading to study discontinuation were reported.

A chaotic and volatile session kicked off the new week on Wall Street, with a start that offers <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets">little reason for optimism.</a>
The S&amp;P 500 opened with a gap below 4,900 points, then fiercely rebounded in the first hour of trading before the gains swiftly evaporated. Sentiment further deteriorated after Donald Trump adopted a more aggressive tone toward China.
On Truth Social, Trump stated that China had imposed retaliatory tariffs of 34%, on top of what he described as already record-setting tariffs, despite prior warnings that such measures would be met with significantly higher U.S. tariffs. He added that if China did not reverse the 34% hike by April 8, the United States would respond with additional tariffs of 50%, effective the following day.
He also indicated that all discussions with China regarding their requested meetings would be terminated, while negotiations with other countries that had expressed interest in talks would begin immediately.
The European Union signaled openness to implementing a zero-for-zero tariff agreement on industrial goods with the United States.
By 12:40 p.m. ET, the S&amp;P 500 was down 0.8%, the Nasdaq 100 fell 0.2%, and the Dow dropped 1.4%. Every sector remained in the red, with real estate and materials leading the losses.
In commodities, gold slipped 1.2%, heading for its third consecutive session of declines, while oil prices fell 2.3% to $60 a barrel, now down 16% from last week&#8217;s highs.
Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>), which had been spared from last week&#8217;s global market rout, joined the bloodbath over the weekend, dropping 6.4% on Sunday and holding at $78,000 on Monday.

Wedbush tech analyst Dan Ives on Monday shared his thoughts on where investors may find safe havens with the tech industry as the market volatility continues under the uncertainty of <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/04/44665493/us-recession-countdown-has-begun-as-trump-tariffs-push-odds-to-45-goldman-sachs-warns">Trump's tariff policies.&nbsp;</a>
What To Know: In a note to investors released Monday, Ives gave more insight into his recent comments on the potential effects of the new tariff policies and which tech stocks could outperform the rest of the sector in the volatile market conditions.&nbsp;

He listed ZScaler, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ZS#NASDAQ">ZS</a>), Palo Alto Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/PANW#NASDAQ">PANW</a>), CrowdStrikeHoldings, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/CRWD#NASDAQ">CRWD</a>) as "defensive names where investors could rotate from semis to software to hunker down during this Category 5 storm."&nbsp;
Nvidia Corp. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>) and Apple, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AAPL#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>) remain Ives' top names to own and even with "this massive near-term uncertainty it does not change their installed base, technology leadership, and long-term growth opportunities ," the Wedbush analyst said.&nbsp;
Ives reiterated his calls for President Donald Trump to begin negotiations to reduce or eliminate tariffs which have led to the most difficult investing landscape in his "25 years covering tech stocks on the Street."
Earnings estimates will need to be reevaluated by the Street and Ives warned that most companies will likely not offer any forward guidance on their upcoming Q1 conference calls.&nbsp;
"Today will be a scary day for investors (and us) … it will create opportunities and way oversold tech stocks but we need to essentially toss out the next few quarters and start to work with some new normal financial model for 2026 for valuations as this tariff situation settles into place during negotiations," Ives said.&nbsp;

A false report claiming the Trump administration was preparing a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/04/44663112/us-families-to-see-3800-annual-price-hike-says-experts-even-as-trump-indicates-tariff-windfall-of-tens-of-billions-of-dollars">90-day pause on tariffs</a> triggered a wave of volatility across U.S. equity and crypto markets on Monday.
What Happened: The confusion began when an unverified post on X suggesting a temporary tariff halt made its way to CNBC's headline feed without confirmation.
The headline was later picked up by Reuters, further amplifying the misleading report. 
The White House quickly denied the claim, telling CNBC that no such policy was under consideration and labeling the headlines as "fake news."

Why It Matters: The SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF Trust (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SPY#NYSE">SPY</a>) saw a sharp swing, rising above $520 at the open before tumbling below $495 shortly after the rumor was debunked.
The index's swing represented an approximate $2 trillion loss in market value, highlighting the fragility of investor sentiment amid ongoing trade policy tensions.
Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>), too, responded sharply to the fake headline. 
The cryptocurrency surged from $77,500 to $80,800 within minutes as hopes of a tariff pause spread. 
But once the rumor was invalidated, BTC corrected back to around $78,000, giving up most of its gains.
Nasdaq futures were also caught in the turmoil, swinging in double-digit percentage ranges. 
Analysts attributed the erratic price action to a mix of headline-driven algorithmic trading and heightened market sensitivity to geopolitical and economic policy headlines.
