Trump and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced Monday the U.S. tariffs on Mexico have been paused for one month. 
Canada fought back with retaliatory measures on U.S. imports.
Trump said he spoke with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and plans to speak to the leader again at 3 p.m. ET Monday.

So far, he has not backed down from plans to place or increase tariffs on <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/tariffs">various trade partners</a>, including Canada, Mexico and China.
What Happened: On Tuesday, Trump took things a step further by naming a new agency tasked with overseeing tariffs.
"For far too long, we have relied on taxing our Great People using the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Though soft and pathetically weak Trade agreements, the American Economy has delivered growth and prosperity to the World, while taxing ourselves," Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/113827650534234057">said </a>in a post on Truth Social. "I am today announcing that I will create the EXTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE to collect our Tariffs, Duties and all Revenue that come from Foreign sources."
