Micron&#8217;s upbeat fourth-quarter performance is pushing the sector higher. AI server company Super Micro Computer, Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SMCI#NASDAQ">SMCI</a>) has also gained momentum.
On Wednesday, Micron reported quarterly revenue of $7.75 billion, up by 93%, beating the&nbsp;analyst consensus of $7.64 billion. This was driven by <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/24/09/41034733/micron-q4-earnings-revenue-eps-beat-on-robust-ai-demand-company-sees-significantly-improved-profita" rel="noreferrer noopener">a strong ramp</a> of its data center DRAM and high-bandwidth memory products.

The upbeat quarterly prints of Nvidia, Broadcom, and Micron bear testimony to the continued AI frenzy as hyperscalers remain invested in their AI endeavors.
Some positive updates bearing testimony to continued AI momentum include Microsoft earmarking $1.3 billion to <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/24/09/41020845/microsoft-invests-1-3b-to-boost-ai-skills-and-infrastructure-in-mexico" rel="noreferrer noopener">boost AI infrastructure</a> and skills in Mexico and Taiwan Semiconductor bagging <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/24/09/41007184/taiwan-semi-secures-7-5b-boost-for-arizona-expansion-aims-for-advanced-chip-production-report" rel="noreferrer noopener">smartphone chip deals</a> from Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOG#NASDAQ">GOOG</a>) (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOGL#NASDAQ">GOOGL</a>) and Apple Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AAPL#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>).
BofA Securities analyst Justin Post also hailed the latest partnership between rival cloud providers Amazon.Com Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AMZN#NASDAQ">AMZN</a>) and Oracle Corp (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ORCL#NYSE">ORCL</a>), which can unlock demand <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/09/40800539/amazon-and-oracle-partnership-unlocks-major-cloud-growth-opportunity-analyst-suggests" rel="noreferrer noopener">for infrastructure and applications</a>.
Struggling chipmaker Intel&#8217;s Amazon deal and U.S. grant also <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/09/40897994/whats-going-on-with-intel-stock-on-tuesday" rel="noreferrer noopener">reflect further optimism</a>.
The semiconductor sector also benefited from the key rate cuts by the U.S. and China, which aim to <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/24/09/41004045/whats-going-on-with-chinese-stocks-alibaba-nio-xpeng-li-auto-on-tuesday" rel="noreferrer noopener">spur discretionary spending</a> by capital-intensive companies.
Price Actions: NVDA stock is up 2.51% at $126.62 premarket at last check Thursday. AMD is up 3.10% at $167.04, and INTC is up 3.70% at $24.41.

What's Going On With Nvidia, Broadcom, Intel, And Other Chip Stocks On Thursday?

On CNBC's &#8220;<a href="https://www.cnbc.com/video/2024/09/25/final-trades-trane-tech-american-tower-regeneron-and-taiwan-semi.html">Halftime Report Final Trades</a>,&#8221; Stephen Weiss of Short Hills Capital Partners said he still finds Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSM#NYSE">TSM</a>) <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/24/09/41007184/taiwan-semi-secures-7-5b-boost-for-arizona-expansion-aims-for-advanced-chip-production-report">cheap</a>.
On Monday, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing bagged the government's approval for an additional $7.5 billion infusion into Taiwan Semiconductor Arizona unit, the Taipei Times cited the Department of Investment Review statement.
Amy Raskin of Chevy Chase Trust named Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/REGN#NASDAQ">REGN</a>).
Chief District Judge Thomas Kleeh denied Regeneron Pharmaceuticals' effort to prevent the sale of Amgen Inc's (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AMGN#NASDAQ">AMGN</a>) Eylea biosimilar. Shares of semiconductor and chip stocks are trading higher following strong earnings from Micron.

Several chip stocks are moving higher after the market close on Wednesday alongside Micron Technology Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MU#NASDAQ">MU</a>), which jumped after the company reported <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/24/09/41034733/micron-q4-earnings-revenue-eps-beat-on-robust-ai-demand-company-sees-significantly-improved-profita">strong quarterly results</a>.
What Happened With MU: Micron beat analyst estimates on the top and bottom lines, reporting revenue of $7.75 billion versus <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/calendars/earnings" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">estimates</a>&nbsp;of $7.635 billion, and earnings of $1.18 per share versus estimates of $1.13 per share.
Micron said its 93% revenue growth in the quarter was driven by robust <a href="http://benzinga.com/topic/ai">AI</a> demand, which was the main driver of chip stock appreciation in recent years.
The memory-chip giant also guided for &#8220;significantly improved profitability&#8221; in fiscal 2025, which appears to be sparking the surge in shares. Micron stock was up 13.2% at $108.37 at the time of writing, according to <a href="http://pro.benzinga.com">Benzinga Pro</a>.
