A host of other tech companies are based in nearby Phoenix, which has become a hub for semiconductor manufacturing and the development of autonomous vehicles, including self-driving cars and drones,<a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2025/01/17/why-tech-companies-like-amazon-google-and-tsmc-are-in-phoenix.html"> CNBC</a> reports.

Anne Hoecker, global head of technology at Bain Global, told CNBC that Phoenix&#8217;s &#8220;favorable business environment,&#8221; the &#8220;ecosystem of other companies,&#8221; and its &#8220;close proximity to a university that has a strong engineering program&#8221; make it ideally suited to be a leading tech city. One of the biggest drivers of big money in the area has been the presence of global tech powerhouses Intel (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/INTC#NASDAQ">INTC</a>), Google and <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/25/06/45782624/tsmc-ceo-tells-trump-100-billion-us-chip-expansion-will-take-time-amid-tariff-pressures-surging-ai-d">Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.</a> (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSM#NYSE">TSM</a>). As part of the investment, the company agreed to build a science and technology park, which, once complete, is expected to create 62,000 jobs, CNBC says.
&#8220;They&#8217;re basically duplicating the science park concept that was pioneered in Taiwan,&#8221; Rick Cassidy, chairman of TSMC Arizona, told the outlet. &#8220;It solves lots of problems for our smaller suppliers. They can actually rent space and just plug in.&#8221;
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">One Of The Wealthiest Small Cities In America</h2>
Wealthy tech executives working in the greater Phoenix area have chosen to settle in Scottsdale and nearby Paradise Valley. According to the Henley &amp; Partners report, as of 2024, 14,800 millionaires, 64 centimillionaires, and five billionaires resided in the Scottsdale area, making it one of the wealthiest small cities in the U.S. To put this into context, according to Henley &amp; Partners, 36% of the world&#8217;s centi-millionaires, with a net worth of $100 million or more, and 33% of its billionaires reside in America.

Austin, Step Aside. Scottsdale, Arizona Is America's Fastest-Growing Millionaire Metropolis

<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/tsmc" rel="noreferrer noopener">Contract chipmaker</a> Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSM#NYSE">TSM</a>) stock gained on Tuesday premarket after the company reported a 39.6% jump in May revenue of 320.5 billion New Taiwan dollars ($10.7 billion).
The revenue declined by 8.3% <a target="_blank" href="https://pr.tsmc.com/english/news/3240" rel="noreferrer noopener">from April 2025</a>.
The topline growth reflects electronics firms striving to stockpile essential components before global tariffs kick in.

Taiwan Semiconductor&nbsp;reported <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/04/44857887/taiwan-semiconductor-q1-surges-41-in-sales-boosted-by-ai-chip-demand-expanded-margins" rel="noreferrer noopener">first-quarter revenue</a> growth of 41.6% to&nbsp;839.25 billion New Taiwan dollars ($25.5 billion). Net sales declined&nbsp;3.4% quarter-over-quarter.
Taiwan Semiconductor&nbsp;guided second-quarter&nbsp;2025 revenue of $28.4 billion to $29.2 billion versus the $26.79&nbsp;billion analyst estimate.
CFO Wendell Huang acknowledged strong demand for its 3nm and 5nm technologies and saw no change due to the tariff policies. 
Last week, Taiwan Semiconductor CEO C.C. Wei <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/large-cap/25/06/45748492/taiwan-semiconductors-japan-chip-factory-faces-delays-while-us-expansion-takes-priority" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">blamed traffic jams</a> for delays in expanding its base in southwest Japan.
Wei also reiterated the company&#8217;s commitment to invest the pre-announced $100 billion to ramp up manufacturing in Arizona over the next half-decade.
However, he also highlighted to President&nbsp;Donald Trump the difficulties in completing the monumental construction in five years due to the skilled labor crisis. Interestingly, the chipmaker&#8217;s prioritization of the U.S. expansion reduced the urgency of production in Japan.
Price Action: At the last check on Tuesday, TSM stock was up 2.22% at $211.60 premarket.

Nvidia Supplier Taiwan Semiconductor Posts 40% Topline Growth In May, Stock Surges

TSMC ((TWSE: 2330, NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSM#NYSE">TSM</a>) today announced its net revenue for May 2025: On a consolidated basis, revenue for May 2025 was approximately NT$320.52 billion, a decrease of 8.3 percent from April 2025 and an increase of 39.6 percent from May 2024. Revenue for January through May 2025 totaled NT$1,509.34 billion, an increase of 42.6 percent compared to the same period in 2024.

Using Taiwan Semiconductor&#8217;s ADM methodology, RF circuit designers can now use AI technologies for RF design migration.
Beyond the productivity gains ADM offers, the Keysight and Synopsys migration workflow leverages the performance gain of the N4P process for the LNA design migrated from N6RF+.
Key components of the design migration flow include the&nbsp;Synopsys Custom Compiler&nbsp;layout environment with&nbsp;Synopsys ASO.ai&nbsp;for rapid analog and RF design migration,&nbsp;Synopsys PrimeSim&nbsp;circuit simulator, and&nbsp;Keysight RFPro&nbsp;for device parameterization, automated value fitting, and electromagnetic (EM) simulation, the company stated in the press release.
AI enables and aids RF circuit designers in a novel way to rapidly achieve the migration process and redesign the N4P process, resulting in faster time-to-market.
