Crypto Attorney Sues US Government To Unmask Satoshi Nakamoto, Creator Of Bitcoin

Discount retailer Dollar Tree Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/DLTR#NASDAQ">DLTR</a>) was riding high on Monday, ending the day up 7.8% following a surprise upgrade by Citi Research, which calls it one of the &#8216;silent beneficiaries&#8217; of the widespread trade tariffs imposed by the U.S. Government over the past week.
What Happened: In a somewhat surprising move, Citigroup analysts upgraded Dollar Tree to a &#8216;Buy&#8217; from their earlier &#8216;Neutral&#8217; stance. With a new price target of $103, which represents a 41% upside following its rally on Monday.
The move is surprising because, on the face of it, Dollar Tree seems one of the most exposed to the downsides of the tariffs. Especially, the mammoth 34% reciprocal rates imposed on China, from where it imports an estimated 40% of its merchandise, according to a recent analysis by KeyBanc Capital Markets.

However, Citi analysts led by Paul Lejuez believe that the higher tariff regime could provide the company with much-needed cover to increase its prices from the standard $1.25 to $1.50 or even $1.75, significantly boosting margins, and without any blowback since it comes at a time when everyone else will be raising prices.

The sale of the segment that was referred to by Evercore ISI analysts as &#8216;truly addition by subtraction.&#8217;
The average price consensus for the stock now stands at $82.85, with Citi at the high point of $103, which is rather impressive considering current market conditions.

Nearly $973 million was liquidated from the market in the last 24 hours, with $632 million in longs erased.
Bitcoin's Open Interest fell 3.63% in the last 24 hours. A drop in OI, coming alongside a rise in prices, indicated the closing of short positions.
Moreover, Bitcoin's Long/Short ratio rose above 1, suggesting that the majority of the traders were betting on BTC's price increase.
The market sentiment remained in "Extreme Fear" mode," according to the Crypto Fear and Greed Index.

However, major averages fell again once the White House dismissed the reports as untrue.
Later in the day, Trump <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2lhWk0HaB4">reiterated </a>that the administration was "not looking" to pause tariffs despite the ongoing market rout.

Analyst Notes: Popular blockchain analytics firm CryptoQuant highlighted that most of Ethereum holders were in losses as the price has dipped below $2,200, the average cost basis.
"The next major support level is around $1,290, the average cost basis of whales holding over 100,000 Ethereum," CryptoQuant added.

<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/03/44265658/billionaire-airbnb-founder-works-with-elon-musk-at-doge">Gebbia joined DOGE</a> earlier this year after a conversation with Musk and fellow team member Anthony Armstrong, a former Morgan Stanley (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MS#NYSE">MS</a>) banker. &#8220;They told me something about a mine that dealt with retirement, and they said that they need somebody to help out to fix retirement in the government. I love the challenge, so I jumped on board.&#8221;
But not everyone is thrilled. As Forbes <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/suzannerowankelleher/2025/03/05/airbnb-distances-billionaire-cofounder-doge-musk/">reported</a> last month, news of Gebbia&#8217;s DOGE role has sparked backlash among Airbnb hosts and guests, with hundreds of negative comments appearing on the platform&#8217;s community portal. Some users have even threatened to stop using Airbnb. Complaints range from &#8220;I am extremely disturbed&#8221; to &#8220;Joe Gebbia cannot remain on the board.&#8221;

Airbnb has tried to calm the waters. Spokesperson Christopher Nulty told Forbes, &#8220;Joe is joining DOGE in his personal capacity&#8221; and emphasized that his &#8220;personal views don&#8217;t reflect the views of Airbnb or Airbnb.org.&#8221;
Gebbia has not had an operational role at Airbnb since 2022 but remains on the board. He also sits on the board at Tesla and is reportedly a close associate of Musk. According to Forbes, he holds a 7% stake in Airbnb, worth around $8.6 billion, and recently sold $30.4 million worth of Airbnb stock in February.
His political activity has also raised eyebrows. While his Airbnb co-founders Brian Chesky and Nate Blecharczyk have supported Democratic candidates, Gebbia donated tens of thousands to Libertarian causes and nearly $178,000 to Robert F. Kennedy Jr.&#8216;s campaign.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">It&#8217;s About Reciprocity, Not Isolation</h2>
O&#8217;Leary explained that this approach is part of a broader push to make tariffs reciprocal. According to him, many of these trade rules date back to World War II and Trump is now trying to balance them out across countries.
&#8220;What he really wants to do is bring the ratio of tariffs to be equivalent between England or Canada or Mexico or any country,&#8221; O&#8217;Leary said. &#8220;In the end, if they&#8217;re going to be reciprocal, that actually promotes free trade.&#8221;
He argued that equal tariffs on both sides of a trade deal are inefficient. &#8220;It&#8217;s stupid to have the same equal tariff on both sides of any country. It&#8217;s just dumb. And everybody knows that.&#8221;

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Canada&#8217;s Situation Is Political, Not Economic</h2>
O&#8217;Leary also pointed to Canada, saying the tension there is more about politics than trade. He claimed Canadian politicians are using anti-Trump sentiment to energize voters ahead of an upcoming election.
&#8220;They&#8217;re using Trump to get out the base to vote, anti-Trump everywhere,&#8221; O&#8217;Leary said. He specifically called out the Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, saying, &#8220;He&#8217;s using Trump as the fulcrum to try to stay in power, or at least his party stays in power.&#8221;

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">No Recession in Sight</h2>
Despite the noise, O&#8217;Leary said he doesn't see signs of an economic downturn.
&#8220;I don&#8217;t think this is going to cause a recession. I don&#8217;t see it in my own companies yet. And I think it&#8217;s going to be short-lived,&#8221; he said.
