What Happened: After market close on Monday, Chewy said it commenced an underwritten public offering of $1 billion of its Class A common stock by Buddy Chester Sub LLC, an entity affiliated with Chewy&#8217;s largest shareholder.
The selling stockholder expects to grant the underwriters a 30-day option to buy up to an additional $150 million of common stock.
Chewy is not selling any shares in the offering and will not receive any proceeds.
In connection with the offering, Chewy agreed to concurrently repurchase $100 million of its common stock from the selling stockholder at a purchase price equal to the price paid by the underwriters. The repurchase will be separate from the company&#8217;s existing $500 million buyback that was authorized on May 24. 
Chewy repurchased $23 million of its common stock in the first quarter and ended the period with $616.4 million in cash and cash equivalents.

&#8220;Though market conditions have softened, we remain consistent in our focus on optimizing our assets to offer the most compelling value to our buyers, maintaining pricing transparency and enhancing margins and returns,&#8221; Mezger said.

When she inherited $9,000 from her mother, she asked to keep it for herself. He agreed and matched it by moving $9,000 from their joint account into his own discretionary fund.
But when her father passed and left her around $55,000, the same arrangement met resistance. The husband asked to transfer $55,000 from their joint savings into his personal account to keep things even.&nbsp;

"If she keeps the money separate, it will be protected if I have a catastrophic illness," the husband acknowledged. "That's reason enough to keep it separate."
Another user shared how their own mother had kept an inheritance separate for similar reasons — to preserve her financial identity and security, especially after years out of the workforce.

Despite the current conflict, the husband in the original post says he still views his wife's choice through a generous lens — and even plans to split any inheritance he might receive in the future with her.
"I may eventually inherit much more," he noted, "but I assume my dad will need it for assisted living. So it doesn't exist to me."
