Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/REGN#NASDAQ">REGN</a>) raises some concerns due to its significant presence in Ireland. If tariffs are applied, they would likely increase the cost of goods sold since companies often import ingredients or finished products into the U.S.
Analyst Richter adds that <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/AMGN" rel="noreferrer noopener">Amgen</a>, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/ALNY" rel="noreferrer noopener">Alnylam</a>, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/BIIB" rel="noreferrer noopener">Biogen</a>, and <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/REGN" rel="noreferrer noopener">Regeneron</a> are the least exposed to Medicaid risk.
Goldman Sachs said Friday that it&#8217;s been hard to measure the exact impact of potential tariffs on U.S. biopharma due to limited public data on where drugs are made.
Their analysis shows limited manufacturing exposure to Canada, Mexico and China. Pharmaceuticals from Canada and Mexico are also likely exempt under the USMCA trade deal. However, some companies do rely heavily on manufacturing in the EU.
If tariffs are placed on drugs made outside the U.S. and kept in place, they could raise manufacturing costs. Companies often import ingredients or finished products before selling them in the U.S. Some manufacturers are reportedly speeding up shipments from Europe out of concern that tariffs may apply to <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/biotech/25/03/44440233/pharmaceutical-firms-say-uk-investment-is-unlikely-unless-payment-levy-is-adressed" target="_blank" rel="noopener">those products,</a><a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/biotech/25/03/44440233/pharmaceutical-firms-say-uk-investment-is-unlikely-unless-payment-levy-is-adressed" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> too</a>.
Goldman Sachs is also watching for exceptions or phased rollouts, pointing to a similar eight-year grace period in the Biosecure Act.
Still, the analyst writes that biopharma companies are generally resilient due to their high profit margins and globally spread operations.
Companies that produce small-molecule drugs might handle a U.S. manufacturing shift better than those making biologics since small molecules require less complex production.

Post-dose 3, VAX-24 generated robust OPA responses, which are correlated with effectiveness against IPD across all serotypes and doses.
The four serotypes unique to VAX-24 elicited immune responses and met all target criteria across all endpoints at all doses evaluated post-dose 3 (primary immunization series).
Dose-dependent immune responses were consistently demonstrated at 1.1mcg, 2.2mcg, and 4.4mcg doses. Little to no carrier suppression was observed.
Full post-dose 4 booster data is expected by the end of 2025.
An interim assessment of the IgG results was performed with currently available study samples and demonstrated:

ViiV Healthcare, the global specialist HIV company majority owned by GlaxoSmithKline plc (GSK), with Pfizer Inc. and Shionogi as shareholders, is pleased to announce that APRETUDE (cabotegravir tablets and extended release injectable suspension) is now covered under the federal Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Program for pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) to reduce the risk of sexually acquired HIV-1 infection in at risk individuals who are HIV-1 negative.1
The Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Program provides eligible First Nations and Inuit people with coverage for a range of health benefits that are not otherwise covered through private, provincial, or territorial health insurance plans or social programs.2 In Canada approximately 10 per cent of all people living with HIV are Indigenous3, despite making up just five per cent of the country's population.4 Economic, social and systemic barriers, along with the lasting effects of racism and colonialism, all contribute to the disproportionate burden of HIV experienced by Indigenous people.5
The decision to reimburse APRETUDE through the NIHB Program will have a meaningful impact on HIV prevention efforts for eligible First Nations and Inuit people who are at-risk of HIV and could benefit from PrEP.

(NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/LLY#NYSE">LLY</a>), Cargill, and other major firms.
What Happened: "China will continue to improve the business environment and welcome more investment by multinational companies in China, sharing opportunities for development," he told the leaders, describing the country's economy as "highly resilient" and "full of vitality."
Executives from medical device maker Medtronic PLC (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MDT#NYSE">MDT</a>) and investment management firm Conning were also in attendance, reported Reuters, citing a statement from China's Ministry of Commerce.
However, the statement did not specify where the meeting took place.
Many of the executives are in Beijing to attend the China Development Forum, where further high-level meetings, including a possible session with President Xi Jinping, are expected later this week, the report noted, citing unnamed sources.
