'AI Is Eating Search' Google Rival Perplexity CEO Arvind Srinivas Says As Dan Nile Predicts 'Agents' To Take Future Share Amid Alphabet, Apple Stock Fall

Cedar Fair (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/FUN#NYSE">FUN</a>) reported quarterly losses of $(2.20) per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $(2.25) by 2.22 percent. This is a 16.35 percent increase over losses of $(2.63) per share from the same period last year. The company reported quarterly sales of $202.06 million which missed the analyst consensus estimate of $233.09 million by 13.31 percent. This is a 98.85 percent increase over sales of $101.61 million the same period last year.

Ford Motor Co. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/F#NYSE">F</a>) will reportedly hike the sticker prices of some of the company's vehicles produced in Mexico.
What Happened: Prices of Ford models like the Mustang Mach-E, Bronco Sport, as well as the Maverick pickup truck, could see a price hike of up to $2,000, Reuters reported on Wednesday.
The report suggests that the hike would apply to models produced after May 2, which, according to a Ford spokesperson in the report, could arrive at dealerships in June. The spokesperson also outlined that these hikes are a part of the company's usual pricing actions.
However, they reiterated that customers won't have to bear the full brunt of the tariffs currently casting uncertainty over the auto industry. "We have not passed on the full cost of tariffs to our customers," the spokesperson said.
Why It Matters: Ford shared at the company's Q1 earnings call with investors that the company expects Donald Trump's auto tariffs to <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/tech/25/05/45217767/ford-ceo-jim-farley-says-trumps-tariffs-could-cost-ford-1-5-billion-pulls-its-earnings-guidance">cost over $1.5 billion</a> to the company. The company also pulled its earnings guidance.

OpenAI has appointed Instacart CEO Fidji Simo to the newly created role of CEO of Applications, reporting directly to Sam Altman as the artificial intelligence powerhouse restructures its leadership to prepare for future AI advancements.
What Happened: Altman announced the appointment on his X account on Wednesday, stating he will remain CEO of OpenAI but plans to increase &#8220;focus on research, compute and safety&#8221; which he described as &#8220;critical as we approach superintelligence.&#8221; 
The leadership change comes as OpenAI continues rapid expansion following its ChatGPT success, with Altman expressing confidence that Simo will help scale the company &#8220;10x (or 100x, let&#8217;s see).&#8221;

Uber Technologies Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/UBER#NYSE">UBER</a>) reported weaker-than-expected revenue for the first quarter on Wednesday. Walt Disney Co. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/DIS#NYSE">DIS</a>) reported upbeat fiscal second-quarter 2025 results on Wednesday.
On the economic data front, U.S. mortgage application volumes climbed by 11% from the previous week during the week ending May 2.
Most sectors on the S&amp;P 500 closed on a positive note, with health care, consumer discretionary, and information technology stocks recording the biggest gains on Wednesday. However, communication services and materials stocks bucked the overall market trend, closing the session lower.
The Dow Jones closed higher by around 285 points to 41,113.97 on Wednesday. The S&amp;P 500 rose 0.43% to 5,631.28, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.27% to 17,738.16 during Wednesday's session.
